Gladiacloud here. Again.

Finally I succeeded. The summit of all my creations is finally complete. The reason why I decided to work on the Mugen was to create my favourite character. Just him.

However, without Ahuron, who created his D_Rugal, I would certainly have had a lot of trouble. And without a 3D model on Xnalara, I would have certainly had three
times the difficulty. Actually worse: I would not even have started him.

But now it's enough. It is finally done.

He is him.

He's the Lord of the Dark Dimension.

He's the Dread One.

He's the main enemy of Doctor Strange.

A big thank you goes to Delusiontrim. Even if he did not actively participate in my project, he was fundamental: he created a very excellent Dormammu sprite,
and he gave me permission to use it.

What else to say ... this is my final character. For now.

Do not worry, I will not leave the mugen (at least for now): I have only completed all my personal characters and, at the moment, I do not have any more in mind.

There will certainly be some characters that I will do in the future, but in the meantime I will work on other projects. For example ... I'm going to make a revamp
of one of my Capcom characters. After many years of her release, I think she has the right.

However, keep an eye on my sign. ;)

P.S: This will be the last time that I'll work on a character so challenging to sprite XP

I found a bug with Dark Dimension where the opponent doesn't come back down after flying up in the air.

Other than that, this character is absolutely fantastic!

Really good characters but Im not a huge fan of some of the effects. Definitely feel like some of them could use some touch up. I also got the same bug with dark dimension where the opponent doesnt come back down. But beside that incredible work on the sprite every thing is animated perfectly and he really feels like he was in the cps2 game
Really hope to see more characters like that in the future cough Sigma cough

The sprite work is just amazing, I really liked it! although I've never played MVC3 and I don't know nothing about Marvel Comics, I must say your char is quite impressive.
If I have I a complaint, is about the hyper bg, it's pretty bad with all that colorloss, it really doesn't blend well with the greatness of your char.

Oh, d,db,b + AB gives super jump.
One day someone will rip the Inuyasha stages... Not today nor tomorrow, probably not even in this decade. But you know, someday... :')

Wow, Dormammu. I got to try him out in MvC:I and he was fun to play, just need more practice with him. I can't believe he's finally made for MUGEN. Gotta try him out when I get a chance.

ok so here's some of my feedback:

sometimes when dormammu says "I summon the power" after doing the stalking flare super, he doesn't say run run

the command for dark dimension is wrong because anytime i do it i do a super jump, the right command for dark dimension should be forward, down, down forward two attack buttons

after dormammu does dark dimension, the character gets stuck in the air the moment dark dimension is fully performed

here's a video of what dark dimension should be after it's successfully performed:



overall dormammu's great, it's just need some fixes that's all

So excited now that we have Dormammu, as for that bug with his level 3 when he dose it to him self he don't stay in the air but when it happens to other characters they stay in the air but so far he's great expect a video soon awesome job guys :D

For your final character, this is probably the best one you ever made. Thanks for the release!

Edit: I found some issues with the character. Here they are:
-His voice sounds cuts off when does his basic attacks in the air and lands on the ground.
-If Purification hits, it can be used constantly creating an infinite as the opponent is being juggled and unable to block.
-Dormammu can't do a standing medium attack while walking forward after performing Flame Carpet until the flames are gone.
I will still do detail and aesthetic feedback for the rest.

His F+HP Can be done as an infinite when next to the opponent in the corner. Also doesn't cause the combo meter to go up when used into itself.
The readme says chaotic flare can be used in the air when it can't be. His stalking flare doesn't disappear when it's been hit enough and instead just floats around without a hitbox following anyways. Also there's no effect for him going up during a super jump like in MvC. And his standing lights and mediums knock down aerial opponents for some reason.

In UMVC3, Dormammu can execute dark spell (creator and destructor) in the air.  Did you guys decide against implementing this function?

Any plans to add the glow effects of dark spell to his hands in his other anims?

Also, for his basic attacks (swing effects), they seem to extend beyond where his arms move.  Especially for crouching HP and standing HP.  Looks strange imo.  Similar issue in your Ton Pooh with the blade effects on her kick special.

Great character!  Amazing sprites as usual, Gladiacloud!

Actually, the projectile does go away like it's intended to after dealing 20 hits to the opponent.
It's just that when the projectile gets reversed that it doesn't go away.

I think the Dark Dimension move is still bugged. Now the screen is down on the ground, but it causes the screen to shake rapidly and the opponent is stuck after the move finishes. You should take a look at that again.

These issues I posted may have been overlooked as ShinZankuro updated the character already before I had the chance to post it:

I also have a suggestion is to add some quotes, I noticed he doesn't have any when I was using him on Arcade mode. I also noticed that he doesn't have unique dialogue with other characters such as Dante or Dr. Strange. He seems to have the same intro and winpose with no variation. Other than the visually hideous state of his large portrait (and the pressing matters that have already been discussed), I found your emulation of Dormammu to be rather palatable.

Bro, you did a striking work. As him being one of my UMvC3 mains, I'm amazed with all details included, like the purple/dark-matter FX. And the animations are amazingly fluid! :)

Some Feedbacks or Suggestions, first of all, I love the sprites, really, this is a wonderfull job, good work again guys.
I see that this was make with a lot of love and dedication.

I´ll take this like a suggestions you can take it or leave it.
1- I would check all the animations time, for me if you reduce 1 time all the frames will be better (for me).

2- It´s a pain in the ass, but if his head in all his animations be a separate animation would be nice, it looks a little weird when you hit him and the fire doesn´t flow, but again, it´s a pain in the ass doing that.

3- incorporate a System message

4- Incorporate the hitting dash mecanism, that this is a classic in MvC series

5- I would reduce the lie down time.

6- In all the super moves´s hitdef, I consider that the enemy should recover in the air and not fall, check some vs games and this always it´s like that, in hyper moves it´s ok, this makes you able to make good combos.

7- No dust effect in super moves?

This for now, if I remember something else I´ll notice it.

Some Feedbacks or Suggestions, first of all, I love the sprites, really, this is a wonderfull job, good work again guys.
I see that this was make with a lot of love and dedication.

I´ll take this like a suggestions you can take it or leave it.
1- I would check all the animations time, for me if you reduce 1 time all the frames will be better (for me).

2- It´s a pain in the ass, but if his head in all his animations be a separate animation would be nice, it looks a little weird when you hit him and the fire doesn´t flow, but again, it´s a pain in the ass doing that.

3- incorporate a System message

4- Incorporate the hitting dash mecanism, that this is a classic in MvC series

5- I would reduce the lie down time.

6- In all the super moves´s hitdef, I consider that the enemy should recover in the air and not fall, check some vs games and this always it´s like that, in hyper moves it´s ok, this makes you able to make good combos.

7- No dust effect in super moves?

This for now, if I remember something else I´ll notice it.

Would be better in another animations too.

5- Now it´s in 60, it´s a lot, maybe 15.. 20.. or 25 it´s ok, check other games and this is like that, the player get up fast.

6- Exactly.. Supers not having knockdown, hypers HAVING knockdown, the hypers it´s ok that way.

7- I see the dust effect in all the hypers (anim 9110 in Dormammu), but why no in his super moves like in vs series?

iirc, not all Hypers deal knockdown, like Ryu's Shin Shoryuken, the last hit deals serious damage and knocks the target sky high but the target returns to their jump down animations after the hit is done instead of falling to the ground. Charlie's Sonic Break and Anakaris' Super Cobra Strike doesn't knock down those that are standing.

I don't know what Gladia thinks about the Redhot's idea of a combo message, as likely the system message[Danger message, first attack text, etc] but it doens't seem to be neccessary since these aren't fullgame based characters.

plus this could make the work extra hard for characters who means to be playable in all mugen settings, especially for Gladia works

I'm going to see about the no-knockdown hypers and the other issues and sent that to Gladia

Dormammu isn't even from Capcom or SNK; They're from Marvel Comics.

You might want to take a look at the Purification move again because I can still do this infinite:

Speaking about fixing, please fix this as well because I can still perform it with the latest update.

Great work so far but I only have a small request (which actually is not that small as coding for this is actully a pain). I think it would be cooler if the camera could zoom in during Dark Dimension move (similiar to Rugal-D's Dark Dimension).
