Looks like a models & graphics that are similar to that of Xuan Dou Zhi Wang ones to me, except this is actual 3D playstyle since KOFMI series & FFWA (Fatal Fury Wild Ambition)

well it's good to be back

how do you know its 3D gameplay?

Looking forward to seeing a Genocide Cutter in full 3D--- Should this game is indeed a Dream Match post Ash Crimson saga that ended in the previous KOF game.

I'm intrigued at the 3D approach. They haven't done this in a while so I'm interested to see what they do. I'm not a fan of how Kyo looks right now. Ik it's not final but stll rather unpleasing to the eye. Also I will miss the gorgeous sprite work from KOFXII/XIII. But oh well glad to see KOF making a comeback

I mean it's not like they took MONTHS to make or anything vs a 3d model which wouldn't take anywhere near as long. From a business point of view they were money pits unless the game did really well like XIII eventually did. It's a big gamble for a company who's not focusing exclusively on fighters so 3d made more sense more than likely.

A new King of Fighters is coming? This business venture is showing promise. The graphics look like they fit in with last generation consoles than current generation consoles.

XII/XIII was also the worst of both worlds with the time spent creating and animating 3D models that they used as a base to draw the sprite and add shadows before putting in the details and adding secondary motion. (I'm aware blazblue and p4 also used 3D models but those games traded detail and shading for higher resolution, also they painted the lighting over the models for anime style instead of KOFs heavy self shadows)

ArcSys sprites also has less animation frames than KOF XIII's.

Nice observation, Captain Know-it-all, don't you think anybody would catch that after watching the trailer?

Either way, I actually love Iori's new outfit, hope SNK won't disappoint us this time around, will try to remain optimistic about this.

Better have the XII/XIII artist for normal or a CLAMP would be nice.

Like, I was kind of hoping that their models would be par up with how well they did in that one KOF Pachinko game. The character renders looked pretty decent in that one, and actually well animated.

Christ, I couldn't help but cringe at that Kyo face close up in the trailer. They could've at least made his eyes look alive, or move his hair more naturally (instead of just moving it back and forth for just a second), but instead, they made something that looks like a PS2 model. This wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't announced for the PS4, but that's just me being picky.

On the bright side, I like the choice for Iori's outfit.
