You decide:http://www.racketboy.com/retro/fighting/2010/04/the-best-undiscovered-2d-fighters.htmlQuite a great article there! I certainly didn't mean to say all fighting games in the 90s were ugly SF2 clones. Just that I remember going to the arcade and seeing a ton of those; there was a huge amount of crappy SF2 wannabees, which didn't actually add a lot to the gameplay but were just part of the era. Maybe the same thing is happening here. They are more than just imitators, they're innovators. The Street Fighter series are, too. They feature some ideas that are unique and some ideas that have been done before in Konami's Yie Ar Kung-Fu and these other pre-SFII fighting games. When Video System created Tao Taido, they focused on unique ideas more than good gameplay, but it didn't become successful enough.Fighter's History is the opposite of Tao Taido. While it doesn't feature many unique ideas other than the "weak point system", its gameplay made it become successful enough to not only be sued by Capcom, but to also have some sequels.
I dunno, this game has always looked pretty meh to me and I haven't changed that opinion.I probably will try it if I get the chance anyway.
Doubt anyone cares.http://www.capsulecomputers.asia/2012/09/phantom-breaker-cancelled-according-to-gamestop/
I even forgot about this game. But wow, wasn't this game pretty far in development? Sucks for everyone that was waiting on it.
Kind of odd how right under this article, there was one saying the exact opposite. Maybe it's something different, I dunno.
That one is from a earlier date before Gamestop started to call people with preorders and say the game got cancelled and since 7sixty seems to have dropped off the face of the earth no one knows if it really is or not.
Maybe this should of got a new thread since this seems to be a sequel but i don't know doesn't seem like anyone cares enough for it to.http://www.siliconera.com/2013/08/26/phantom-breaker-extra-trailer-debuts-the-games-new-characters-in-action/QuotePhantom Breaker: Extra is an updated version of Phantom Breaker, featuring enhanced graphical effects, new characters and stages. Mages shared a new trailer for the fighting game today, and you can check it out below: Phantom Breaker: Extra will feature newcomers like Sophia, Shizuka, and Gaito & Rin, as well as Kurisu Makise from Steins;Gate and Rimi Sakihata from Chaos;Head, two of Mages’ popular visual novels. Phantom Breaker: Extra is slated for release on September 19 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
I think talk of Phantom Breaker Extra can stay here given that Phantom Breaker was never released IIRC. Granted if it was I may redact this statement but....
Did the original even got released outside of Japan?I know US was meant to get it on 360, but I don't think we ever actually got it.
My sentiments exactly. Seems like an update to an unreleased game so until further confirmation I'll leave this thread as is.
