To whomever it may concern; Hello I am Pixelqted. I am working on making my own mugen (in the JUS style) using custom characters from a manga series I am in the process of storyboarding and writing. This is my progress on the first character; Who is the co-main Character of the series. His name is "Devin". (Devin is a light skinned boy with Snow White Hair, and a Sky Blue Hoodie. Devin is "in to" Sword-fighting, Magic, and Martial Arts. His father is a Demon who rules over the undead realm with an "Iron Fist".) I am hoping to incorporate backstories into the characters fighting styles and interaction with other characters.

Align the animations with the ground/feet for the medium punch (Devin) and light punch (Amani). That light punch looks more like a strong elbow attack.

Devin's light punch seems kind of weak, not even a punch.

This seems pretty good so far, though I have to agree with AlexSin about the light punch. Needs to be a bit more like a punch.

What other sprite styles do you do?

I mean that you should align the attack frames' position to match the idle sprite's. It's the same thing you didn't do for his medium punch.
Look at the first frame, then the other attack frames: don't you see they're not on the same y position?

(your gif, better alignment, better timing)

Also the pants become much baggier during the attack.

Did you align them wrongly on purpose?
I showed you how you should align them and you did it wrong again.

About the light punch, make his torso move a bit more than that. His head bobs for no reason.
Try to do the punch in real life and then you can apply your results/conclusions to the animation.
You also need to have more contrast, I couldn't nearly see the mouth and nose because they are too light.

I aligned them to each other the same way you did, but the sprite couldn't go any lower on the y level in order to align it with the idle, so I'll have the move the idle animation's feet up.

What software are you using?
I think you're not moving the right layers.

All of Devin's Standing normals are now complete. The next step will be making his crouching/mid-air normals.
