That's a very spiffy looking Lucina there, great job on that! Wish the quality of my spritework was like that lol.

Nice work, she looks great there. :)

Thank you!

Interesting that you picked that up. This is actually supposed to be Guilty Gear-esque in style. The commissioner wanted to challenge me and asked me to make Lucina in ether BlazBlue or Guilty Gear style (and I like Guilty Gear more than BlazBlue). This is the first time I've taken a shot at full custom GG style (I did an edit of Axl Low before) so I had to play it by ear a bit due to lack of experience. I mainly used Dizzy as reference.

Wish the quality of my spritework was like that lol.
Same

Nice job Steven

Haha thank you, I'm still starting to learn many new things as well myself, but this forum has been very suportive which really contributes to overall growth. It's great.

I'm not great at advice but if you ever want some feedback or just want to hang out feel free to shoot me a message so we can Skype and sprite together or so.

I'm just gonna tag @Xenomic: and @Genesis:, cuz' I really want them to see this.

Loving how Lucina turned out, the Guilty Gear vibe absolutely drips from this sprite. :D

Oh, I was bound to see the message sooner or later when I got on, Hatter. : V

But I'll keep that in mind. I rarely sprite as it is due to frustration on my part but if I ever need feedback or whatnot, I'll remember that.

Oh I was sure to miss it, thanks :P

I'll most likely be spriting a lot once I settle on character designs & a medium for my game. But I'll totally take you up on that offer Steven.

You guys are great, love y'all

Also, I tinkered more with the Damian stance. I feel like it's overall more solid now and I gotta say I'm pretty happy with it (even though I can still find some faults in it right now) especially with the subtle motion of the hair and chain. I'll prolly leave the stance as for the time being to get started on some other animations and then come back and redo it entirely because that always happens

stationary (our) left feet is something that definitely needs to be fixed tho)

Thank you!

I also made some progress on a crouching animation:

I still need to fix up the left shoe, as its currently dissappears suddenly, but overall I think it's a decent start for the animation

Crouching looks pretty good overall. Might need to do something about his left (his left) foot, but looks nice.

some new updates

Start on Light Punch

I plan to rework the leg motion entirely as it doesn't convey the idea of putting a step into your punch properly. I'll probably change up one of the frames of the arm too but otherwise I'm rather satisfied with the upper body as of right now.

Little edit on the flow of the animation, as a demonstration.

Thank you! That's the kind of flow I'm looking for yes. I'm still unsure wether or not to have the front leg move/slide as opposed to stationary feet but maybe I'll just make 2 versions or so.

I also finished this for a commission:

I personally think that sliding the leg forward is pretty unnecessary, mainly given that this is meant to be a light punch, after all.

Also, great Cloud in there. Is that also meant to be Guilty Gear? Because it does gives me that vibe.
