Guess I´ll leave this here:

Progress is slow but steady but thankfully 100+ sprites are separated already.

I´ve had certain thoughts about Spiral, I may use JNP idea for this...

KOF character deserve love too!!  >:(

Cheers!!

Nah, too much work I´m not willing to do right now. I was aiming for something simpler in first place so any extensions would probably be done by someone else.

PS: I stole the belly separation idea from your Vanessa patch.

:) 'waiting'

Regarding Blue Mary or Spiral?? :P She winning the poll... that thought has been in my head for a while so that´s open to discussion. Will probably use this idea for both, so will pack everything essential for everyone to work, perhaps in the next days.

Perhaps i can assist you on the arm separation. (If you're OK with it, of course.)

Also, when can we expect a palette template? :P

Walking forward & backwards. I find the walking forward rather cute.

A template?? pretty soon, I just need to sit myself and do it.

Template here:

The order in the .act files is as follows: Hair, Skin, Sweater, Belly, Gloves, Gloves Trim, Pants, Shoes, Shoes Buttons, Giant Belt, Giant Belt Buckle, Pant Belt Buckle, Stars in the pants, Eyes (White of eyes/Iris/Eyebrows), Lips, Pant Belt.

The row at the left: Dog colors, that giant rose, Jacket.

Eyebrows were reduced to 1 single tone for practicity purposes (those appear in very few sprites anyway). Have fun!! :)

Cheers!

Will be separating everything for the JTP "help me separate" method later on.

And here´s it is, the color separation workshop (sprites ready to get separated in case anyone wanna help):

http://www.mediafire.com/download/hg7aymrr4mv8t6t/Just_No_Point_had_a_great_idea.rar

It got the sprites, the colors you gotta use when you apply them to the new layer, a .txt file explaining some stuff and... that´s it. Each group is separated in folders (and some few together in one single folder to save some space). I´ll very happy if someone wants to help, it isn´t obligatory of course :P

They are still indexed and without transparency so apply the transparency color and unidexit to apply the layer later on.

Cheers!

It doesn´t work?? How´s that?? I may upload an individual one if that´s the case. I mean with your process you are eating way some shades of color, especially in the eyes and the 4th color from the red top still belong to the last color of the pants (is not separated properly) :(

What´s PSP?? Photoshop?? If that´s the case then I don´t see how is that a problem since I can use it...

oh so is Paint Shop Pro... mmm I really can´t say what to do regarding that since I don´t have Paint Shop Pro to fix it. What version he may be using?? Right now it seems I´ll to do some manual editing to the sprites. Not much of a problem but hope the process can be simplified.

Yeah, sometimes his sprites with Bishamon were incorrect and weird too :P

As long as the colors were on the correct spots I just used it to select the new colors and change them manually. Still faster than having to do it from scratch.

iinm?? actually the palette is supposed to look like that, that´s the way I arranged it. mmm, let´s do something... separate the sprites (use the reference of how the color should look like) upload those unindexed and I will index them all on my part. Is a easy method but boring (open, index. open, index) but I´ll do it for making people lives easier. :P

I wonder if PSP is eating some shades cause ATP separation is pretty alright except for the eyes, some shades are missing. Gotta fix them later on.

Seeing the template may help to see the tones per part:

Maybe... I don´t really how to deal with your case thought :( I could do with the "use Photoshop" or something but there should be a logical reason, why PSP is doing this to me...

- 183 is already separated, I´m working on the 190.
- 200, 205, 400, 420, 600 & 721 done by ATP (Thanks dude)

That´s for now.

I had to take a few creative liberties, but I think I got it as close as I could.

That´s pretty neat thought I think the 3rd to last color contrast is a bit too strong, darkening the 3rd shade a bit may help or lowering the contrast  a bit in the last one. It resembles the reference pretty nicely :) Regarding the "liberties", I think it would look a bit weird in some sprites so I would recommend following the color order... how about you use the lightest color of the pants for the 1st and 2nd tone of the star pants and from there you follow the same color order from the pants?? (get me?) could provide a good illusion IMO. Thanks for the palette :)

Just wondering can the roll in 710 be reversed to match the 711 roll?

At first glance it looks like a reversed roll besides a couple of sprites... mmm, go ahead and separate the 710, I would take care if those can´t get mirrored.

Now I gotta check ATP´s page to see what new groups he separated and check/fix/save them and add them to the SFF :)

Awesome work, guys!
This detailed color separation offer a nice choice of combinations of colors/palettes.

Good job!

I separated all of the sets besides gethits  which you can have the honors  :)
I think the 35-6 -40 sprites in 3010 might be duplicates

Gonna make some pals later

^ If some of the sprites aren´t the duplicates I will separate them and that´s it, no problem with that. Thanks a lot ATP, without your help I wouldn´t be able to advance with this project so rapidly... I really really REALLY appreciate it :) well... know to check all your separated sprites (all of that, wow!) and separate what is missing (1000, 1010 & gethits).

All is upon me :P

^ Yeah, it would be pretty neat.

This wii fit trainer has been quite the sensation, right?? Looks good :)

I´m going begin saving the palettes when I´m near done and yesterday I started checking ATP sprites and overall they good just some pixels and incorrect colors here and there but a quick job (5 minutes per sprite... if I´m concentrated) so I will finish then I´ll begin to separate the missing sprites.

Cheers!

Cool Faith! (need a little more contrast in shoes IMO

Since I love this Mary project, let me contribute a little.

Some "bra" color separation would have been perfect, but you're already making an awesome project!!

^ Thanks for the palette

Bumping just to say that just the hitdefs are missing :D (don´t worry I can handle this) which means 115 sprites left for completion :D

So I guess I´ll start collecting the palette files now (and edit some a bit, if the submitters don´t mind)

@blackinu: I wasn´t able to extract the .act files from your palettes, could you redo yours and upload them as PNG. Use imgur for that. please.

Cheers.

They work perfectly now, thanks :) 32 sprites left & retouching some palettes, sorting them, fixing some details, etc, etc. I take my time for this.

Cheers!

There aren´t so different just that in SNK sprites you need to add more contrast in certain parts to add more depth, in your case it looks pretty good thought. The oranges tones have some good contrast,, thanks :)

Fuck Yeah! I may use these! I really like Blue Mary even though I suck with her. Do you have any other projects that you're going to do?

University/College won´t give enough time for it to happen anyways. I still have plenty of separation templates hanging around in my pc if I ever consider something thought but not for now.
