I prefer the 4th one myself, it has that neat characteristic expression from Lucky in most of the artworks he appears. Looking good :)

Yes, the 4th looks more like the real Lucky, I've done some portraits years ago, I-ll try to find them on my other pc. Nice jobs.

Thanks guys for the critiques and the ecouregment, I put a lot of effort into the last one, I still feel like I didn't get the lips right and do the artworks justice.  He has been throwing me quite the curve ball, just trying to do something I've never done before there.

Also, can't wait to see what you got MadkaT.

hmmm, thats something to consider in the future :) I think the 2003 portrait style may be able to fit in with the Rage of Dragons sprite style.
I like the idea, let me finish KOF/SVC first, want to try to get Neo Geo Battle Colosseum characters next with some more of Rikards chars too.

phew, the list is huge.  :woeh:

AWESOME! I gotta thank you, with most of your ports i'm almost done with a compilation that we use in our mugen fridays, just one thing even if it takes you a long time can you at least do billy lee whenever you have the time to spare? not demanding here just hoping that eventually you or someone will do it cause he is my favorite charater. KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK DUDE!

thanks for using my portraits, and thanks for the compliments :)

sure man, I'll see what i can do, who do you want me to use as a base from the existing portraits? It will help speed up the process rather then doing it from scratch.  also please post an image of which billy you want me to do, i'll try to do jimmy too.

well billy is the "cool"character while jimmy is the serious one i know that that is not much to work with but like i said, i'm not demanding that you do them right now, so just take it easy and remeber, billy=the cool one, jimmy=the seriuos one. KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK!

So billy with the white and blue jacket version?

Awesome work on Robert! Don't think you added him to your first post. Sorry I'm a bit late with my praise. lol. Lucky #4 is my preferred one as well. The slightly open mouth fits the grimace he's making. Yay for NGBC. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with them. Also, may I request Raiden's new buddy Hwa?

but try to improve the mask is hard, I also inserted a shadow on the face, yet there is something I do not like of the image

Looking better though, keep it up, I see things also looking smoother you're starting to really get this  :)

Made Hwa Jai, I made him for Swiper's full game,

is there anything I need to improve on?

Billy and Jimmy update: I have been working on Billy, he's coming along rather nicely.  As for Jimmy, I have allowed my little brother to try his hand at this, the work he's doing does show promise.
they may be out soon, although, I am doing a few things for Swipergod, so I'm putting this topic on second priority until my work for him comes to completion.

You're really doing well with each portrait you make. Although I can't help but to think that Hwa Jai in there looks a little too simple, so I strongly recommend you make something to detail him further. You could shade under his eyes further more, or make the line of his nose visible. Whatever you can do to make him look freakier would be an improvement. Here's some FF1 reference for you:

the reference I was using was in XIII.   I thought about the outline of his nose being there but didn't add it because its not common place in the sprite style. I just looked at all the portraits now and there are a few that have the nose outlined and in his extreme case (I mean have you seen this guys nose?) it would fit in, thanks for the tip MotorRoach, I'll jump right on that.
they make him look sooooo old and he's only like 34 years old... must be that power drink, which would make him a junky hmmmmm... ::)

Also, after a lot of procrastinating on him, I have finished Robert and will add him to the list tonight when I get home

there was just a touch up that needed to be done anyway.
