Darkstalkers fx are tricky to work upon due to their "simplistic" shading, and some other stuff. So I opted to smooth the frames out manually before applying any filters, trying to keep most of the details from the source.

These look great!!! :D

Though I'm not sure about the wave pattern on Demon Cradle, cuz that's not exactly a fire move, but it'd be interesting to compare the FX with the wave pattern and without.

- For the CFJ-style Midnight Bliss, how about having the black screen flash red in time to the hit sounds so that there's a little more indication that something's happening?
Ooh, that sounds very cool! I'll try it out, maybe also try throwing some blood in there too somewhere.
I tried out solid red, and wasn't really feeling it. So I took a page out of Vice's HSDM from 2k2UM, and had the screen flash white, but show a spurt of blood, and I think it's working pretty well:

But I dunno, I'm not sure if there's something missing here. Is there too much blood? Too little?

The Midnight Bliss effect looks pretty good as it is. If anything, I would just say to emphasize the final hit with a bigger spurt of blood, slowdown or a afterimage.

I suddenly had an idea about how to solve a Kyo-related problem (in CvS2, Kyo doesn't have a close HP, and it's weird cuz they kinda used his KOF close HP animation for his CvS crouching HP):


Frankenspriting one of his rekkas ontop of his normal HP animation worked out pretty well, I think. In-game, it looks and feels distinct enough from his other similar looking moves. I just gotta fill in those green areas, which will be hard cuz I suck at spriting!

Let me hit you with a few things I've come across recently:

Demitri:

When testing just now to see if I separated KFM's MB properly and testing it, I noticed Demitri has debug flood if you attempt to do a forward/backwards roll:

I honestly wasn't even trying to roll, just hit the buttons at the same time. Guess it's just some remnants of code from your template or something you forgot to remove. :P

Kyo:

Since you'll be updating him soon, I figured I'd mention this. I'm pretty sure in CvS he can super cancel from his HCB + kick special right after he explodes p2 from holding them up. I remember this being my BnB finish with him from said special into his QCB, QCF + punch super. You also don't have the HCB + kick special CC loop. In fact, he can't do anything after doing said special while CC is active. While I rarely ever even use CC, Kyo is one of the few chars I can use it with some competence.

Guile:

For his Lv3, if you keep hitting the hurricane helper with projectiles, he'll NEVER stop holding out his projectile, unless you stop throwing projectiles at him.

Wasn't he planning on giving Demitri a dodge/roll?  So that invalid state will probably soon be valid anyway, he probably just decided to implement the command now and save the actual state for later.

Heh, yeah, that Sonic Hurricane helper was pretty shoddily coded. But I'm better now! I'll fix it... eventually!
