Filia is...wierd, man. Like in vanilla she was kind of the "ryu" but now she's rushdown+
I would suggest using bella as wella, start with a solo no matter who you use though.
and yeah Xan is right, Eliza is wierd as fuck, man. But if you get used to her wierd she's actually really fun and has a lot of variety at the start.(what I mean is you don't have to master her to get access to some shenanigans, you have options right from when you start using her) She's not really "hard" per se. in the middle, really.
I would recommend against starting with Squigly, Val, or Painwheel. If you like execution heavy stuff then Squigs and val are fine, but Painwheel is wonk as fuck.

Yeah, Cerebella is probably the best place to start, which is really funny to say for a grappler but she has so many options you don't really notice that. Also IMO, Fukua is a good starter character as well since you have a nice mixture of zoning and combos. Once you understand the game better, Ms. Fortune is a lot of fun to play as, and ditto for Peacock.

When you start building teams, in my experience, the best assist is Squigly with Center Stage hands down (it makes it very hard for opponents to run away since it drags them back close to the center of wherever Squigly shows up). Other options kind of depend on the character, but my favorite is Peacock's George At the Airshow since it gives you aerial coverage while you focus on covering the ground, and Eliza's Weight of Anubis does a good job of discouraging the opponent from turtling.

While I cannot try out Eliza today(binging on FFXIV so hard right now), I will try her out tomorrow in compensation.

So on Rebel Up's stream, some Beowulf updates got announced:

- Beowulf now has a character select sprite and announcer soundbite.
- His idle animation is fully colored; his first cleaned animation!
- Beowulf now has his c.MP: A heavy-hitting punch with a surprising amount of reach.
- s.MP: Beowulf delivers a vicious punch, microphone clutched in hand. If held, he drops the mic and makes the crowd go wild. The falling microphone hits overhead!
- s.LK: A stomp that (currently) hits low.
- Chairless c.HK: Beowulf swings Grendel's arm across the floor in a 30f sweep that reaches over halfway across the screen. Causes Beowulf to fall over, requiring a ground tech (like Big Band's j.HK). While it cannot be comboed off of, it has two hits of armor!
- Part of his timeout: Beowulf sits on his chair and contemplates in frustration.
Also alt palettes based on Batman and William Riker.

Mike_Z also said something like we'd find out later why there's a William Riker palette. I hope to god this means that Beowulf studies Ambojitsu.

These changes are actually pretty old, considering he's already axed the Health regain from solos.
