if that's the standing sprite then the pose looks unnatural. it looks like an awkwardly posed action figure. everything else looks fine

Haven't posted it anywhere yet, but the stance has been straightened up among other things currently being done. Personally thought the usual stance of arms being locked at a 90 degree angle with fists clenched all the time was a tad overdone. Also, thinking that a NGBC Shishioh/King Lion deal of alternating stances may get done.

So you are doing a different stance. I was going to post something, but I'm sure you got it under control.
Spriting is hard.

a community sense in working out ideas can only make for a better more refined character diepod, share your thoughts and post your stuff, its bound to be helpful ( If not for rolento himself for any new spriter and coder that is following the thread)

Hadn't worked out the alternate stance yet, so those sketches could still be of quite some use. Thank you kindly.

[edit] Oh yes, if anyone was wondering why I have the more neutral stance to begin with, there are also some ki effects planned as overlays not present in the initial sprite there. I also had in mind longer transitions into attacks; Broly just doesn't come across as a quick jab kind of guy.

I really like Diepod's second stance there. I don't like the idea of incorporating ki effects on the neutral stance especially if your trying to mirror Balthazar's style, don't be too flashy. Having long startups to attacks would work, as long as you do some sort of super armor.

Duo: While I can draw just fine, those sketches were Diepod's as you can probably guess from the reply above.

Have some jab mockup. Could probably link to a hook of some sort right after the punch now that I think about it...

Yikes. I don't think it really works to have Broly do a right-handed straight while leaning forward with his left leg...but whatever it's your character not mine.

He could afford to turn his right leg left leg (brain fart)forward in that postion. It looks weird to me tbh.

Gotta have the right foot pivot. Hes such a big guy he'd probably punch a bit more downward.

I would have him jab with the closer hand though.

Forgot about the pivot on the back foot at the time. Will fix that leg as I clean things up. Regular jab seems a tad weak for the character; personally view the character as having more wide sweeping/arcing motions in his attacks with maybe the exceptions of simple ki shots. Suppose it will make more sense once mockups of the other basics are available in pixels and not just in my head. Hah.

[edit] Of course, I could just switch my lp and mp concepts and they work just the same. Seems to work in practice.
