The toll is up to 44 dead and 500 injured. No way this stops here.
The power of the explosion is being compared to that of the AZF factory in Toulouse, also a chemical factory. That one made a crater 7m deep and 40m wide and blew its steel girders 3km away, and estimated at 20 to 40 tons of TNT. The sound was heard 80 km away. 29 dead, including 28 from the factory.
Except that one was outside of the city, and this one was in the middle... it's estimated at 21 tons on TNT as well.
The fire was notified at 10:50 PM (local time), 9 fire brigades came within 10 minutes, and the explosions happened half an hour later. No info on the firemen but that really doesn't sound good for them
Edit again : yep, 18 firefighters missing
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.
