'Navana' as a character.

Hello, as some of you know me around the community, I am used to doing stages and stages only, however two days ago my friend Blackmore on here decided to create some unique sprites for me, which shows in my eyes what character I would want 'Navana' to be. Now I don't base it off of me in real life, purely because I wanted the character to be female. Anyways, here is the sprite that was made:

(Thanks for adding the transparent background for now, Black.)

Current Stance In the spoiler is our old renditions of the stance.
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
(Is being edited with the feedback we got, and what was found.)
If you'd like to read the bio of Navana it is in this spoiler:
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

I would appreciate anyone who would be willing to help do other sprites for Navana. This is not the main outfit that I want, it is merely a rough draft of something quick. Her original outfit will have something consisting of a dress, having a slit down the lower middle, which is showing some leg, along with some heels. Her hair can be in an updo and she pulls the hair clips out of her hair, and get's into her fighting stance <--- That could be her intro. Palettes are also appreciated, since the design is very simple. If you would like to contribute anything, I'd appreciate it.

Feedback please, and tell me what you think about it.

It's not a bad sprite over all but in order for people to Animate it and make some more moves would require a few other sprites as other bases to use and such I guess (I don't do character sprites)

As I see it's NxC styled which is good, but if you manage to find a good spriter to help I'm sure it would turn out good.

Thanks. And yes, it is NxC styled. You're right about more sprites that's for sure, but I have a feeling I won't get much feedback. I appreciate it though, thank you once again.

Hopefully, with some training and tutorials, I may begin slowly, but I obviously don't have enough resources to begin such a task.

Have you chose on what spriting style you shall use?
If not then I would suggest CvS style.

Rest in peace, Tamez. Thank you for everything.

Your first character's gonna be an original one, you wrote a story for it, you've given it psychics already, and you're not following the tired CVS trend ?

My god, no wonder this caught my attention.

Criticism though, IMO, a fighter + heels = just no. Though it's not impossible to fight in them, fulfilling full potential as fighter in them somewhat is. But of course if you're suspending disbelief like some people do [ B. Jenet ], you can ignore this.

As for not having enough resources, this board is your friend. You might find the code library and tutorial section of it useful, and don't be afraid to ask questions in the ROOT board.

You might also want to at least skim through this.

Thanks, all that is useful. I will be sure to read through it, as well look at the board, however I don't want to bother anyone, since I know spriting is quite difficult. I appreciate the direction and the compliment. So thank you once again.

Those suggestions were for coding. For spriting you can [ and should ] ask questions in graphics.

Since there are alot of people there that know what they're doing, I'm sure some of them will give you the time of day with tips.

I don't see how it could, cos it already has an abnormally high amount of potential.

At this point, you just need to study and broadcast more. You should get everything you need that way.

You're welcome for everything.

For a dawning author you have one hell of a mindset, seriously.

Do you really want to look like android 18. Does it have to be DBZ and/or do you have to be a girl.
Because you look really DBZish as a girl here.

I don't know whether to take this comment as a pure question, or a non-needed comment, but what I will say is that I based the design off of my preferences that I wanted for this particular character, and it can be however I planned it to. Not trying to come off as rude, but if you really think that, then I'm sorry. However if I misunderstood you, I also apologize.

Navana is going to have a move somewhat similar to Chun-Li's Kikoshou, which will probably be of a red-violet coloring, and will be positioned differently. Trust me, you'll see the difference between them. Super attacks will probably be a cross kick with Blackmores original character, and another one known as "Reminisce the Kiss", which I will keep a surprise. ;)

All in all, this girl will be very interesting for the size she will be in.

This is what I have so far for the intro.
And this is that last that I'll post of the sprite progress since I'm leaving for ol' Arkansas Friday/this weekend.
But rest assured, I'll resume progress as soon as I can.

AKA I probably won't be back until next month. :p

Thank you Black for the progress. Yes everyone, our project will be on hold because Black will be moving to Arkansas and the trip will take quite a while for him to get there, and get situated. So I wish him the best of luck and hope that things go well for him. As for the new sprite, here is a bit of feedback:

- The design of the sprite looks good, but I can't distinguish the hand that your character is holding my character up with.
- Her leg looks like it is mixing with your shoulder, and I don't want her to have a mutation. xD Just joking on the last part, but the leg does look that way.

+ The way she is pointing and looking towards the opponent is a very nice idea and I like that.
+ Your character stands out in an interesting fashion, and it appeals to me, which is what I feel a character should do.
+ In the end, nice work,  nice progress, just a few tweaks.

:) Once again, I wish you the best of luck with everything and I will be here waiting for your return.
