Sorry I'm so late to this thread. My work weekend prevents me from replying as much!
Anyway, this is happening in all 3 help boards and is part of valodim's tweaks to the boards recently.
As soon as I post this I'll contact val

Maybe this is a stupid idea, but what about a "solved" board (I mean, move all solved topics in that board)?

Making it similar to the release board would be better in that case. Make it so you can filter for solved or unsolved threads.

The vanishing Solved posts issue is resolved.
Val is currently working on an obsolete icon. Anything that goes over 3 months without being solved will be obsolete. He is also looking into a way to make it so users will be able to filter for solved, unsolved, and obsolete threads.

Last update to this:
All boards should be finished. New obsolete icon active in all 3 boards. All 3 have a filter option to aid you in locating a topic. Auto "obsoleter" is in place. Went ahead and reduced the time before obsolete kicks in. It's 45 days.

Let me know if you find issues.

The problem is that the way it is applied to the help sections is flawed.

By default you must have all threads being displayed, and THEN if I want to filter between solved or unsolved, I will apply the respective filter. Right ow, it is the opposite.

Releases work that way, you have all releases already displayed, and then I can choose if I want to filter by character or stages.

With the help section, you are forcing to display ONLY unsolved issues by default. This is wrong. You are simply taking away visibility to issues that are solved in a short time, and then expect visitors to use the filters just to check if there are new topics that have been solved while they were sleeping...

Good way to promote peer learning in a help section.

Please fix the behavior so it is the same one as in relases

Is this the way other uses wish for this to be done? I guess with the obsolete automation having the solved posts go to the bottom is a bit redundant. The idea was that this increases exposure to the unsolved posts now. But I see what you're saying now too.

rememebr that even if it's a hobbie, people don't like getting stuck in development, so people who already know how internet forums work (replies can take hours if not days) generally do what xgargoyle says, they search for already solved rpoblems that are similar to theirs.

I hate to have to have Val change it back now considering all the work he's now put into it fixing it to work this way and then fixing bugs that come from it :P

But I'll message him to go ahead and make them all equal again.
