I expect there to be no Metroid Prime 4 footage because the game has been silently cancelled. Prove me wrong Nintendou.

I second that but I think it's still going since they did a company switch. Like Shigeru said, “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.”

They've literally restarted the entire game from scratch. Unless Retro work really fast, I doubt we'll be seeing anything; most we heard was that they presented a playable prototype that Nintendo liked enough for them to pass development over.

Exactly, it's still happening so just be patient. But it does make me wonder what Bandai Namco was going to do in terms of it.

Remember that Breath of the Wild was delayed (more than once, IIRC) and it ended up being excellent.

Does that mean we're just supposed to ignore all the other games that were delayed and still turned out to be shit anyway ?
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

I expect and hope that Microsoft seize this opportunity to steal the show and begin turning around their fortunes in Sony's absence. If they don't do it this year I don't think they will ever again.

IIRC FF7 is the game that made jrpgs mainstream in the west anyway.
That would be FF4 (FF2 here) on SNES. Then Chrono Trigger and FF6 (FF3 here) put an exclamation point on the genre.

We don't have to ignore the failures that followed delays, but it would be equally terrible to ignore the successes. Its true that many games were delayed because of sheer incompetence, but many games were also delayed because their developers care about the quality of the product they're making. Nintendo doesn't usually release crap games, it seems to have a very good quality control, and they've been quite transparent about the issues with Metroid Prime 4, which is usually a good sign.

It was Super Mario RPG.

No, really. Square deliberately made the game to appeal to the western market because FF and CT only saw modest success.

Actually yeah, I actually forgot how popular that game was. It played like a traditional JRPG too, except for the weird team MP system.

FF7 capitalized on the momentum JRPGs had going on from the SNES era. Shortly after Pokemon came out and the rest is history.

FF7 was great for its time. people forget it was a gen 1 playstation game sometimes.

Even thought it was my favorite FF game, I couldn't give two shits about the remake at E3.

All I care about is Cyberpunk 2077, and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2

Really hoping to see some Saints Row goodness at E3 this year after what's felt like ages since the last proper installment.

Well I hope y’all got the pitchforks and tomatoes because we got EA Play tomorrow morning. Hope we can get at least some Dragon Age or Nintendo Switch related news.
