*new*

(don't let the pink scare you away please, it's just for color seperation XD)
Well this is something I'd be wanting to do for a long time,
a MUGEN game with the River City Ransom guys battling it out!

This is just a pitch on how it could look, I wanted to know if you guys think the head should be bigger, or anything.
Haven't really put down all my ideas or anything, this is just looking if there's need for something like this ;P

Since all the guys in RCR are basicly headswaps, making more chars will not take very long.
Ofcourse there have to be some unique moves for each char, or the fun won't last very long i guess.

I've did my try on the two heroes, Kunio and Riki, I'd say go mad and make some more heads of the other guys ;)
You'll figure out where the head goes, after you've placed it you'll have to put the fist over it.
I use 5 colors max for each shade, you should try to keep at 5 if you make new hair or something else.
The base i used was KOFXII Ryo, if you were wondering.
Now please, let me know your thoughts!

You could move it yourself. But personally, I'd prefer If you showed some more progress before that, maybe a couple of animations. Great sprites btw.

Well, here i've made smaller version, the head is the same size though...
I know it's possible to make 2d scroller fighters with MUGEN, so i was wondering if it's possible to make a replica
of River City Ransom? The fighting along with the shop sections and RPG elements?
But with these larger sprites ofcourse ;) If that's the case and some of you are interested,
we could do some more talking  8)

If you want to go the full route of recreating the game, you should look into making it into a standalone game. Bea had an engine for beat em up games of that kind.

Yes it would be awesome to make it a fullgame.
Now for some new stuff, I went with a more mature look for the chars.
I'm still trying stuff out. But i really love how this looks!
What do you guys think?

Still nothing more then an idea.
But I was thinking IF it were to become a beat'em up, not so much a 1-on-1 fighter, the sprites shouldn't be too large.
So i tried something, and scaled my latest sprites 50%. They still have the realistic look, which I'm doubting to use. I guess you could label them as "SNES era sized sprites". I did apply the sf3-inspired shading (but reduced; each part has pretty much 6 shades: 3 'shadow' shades and 3 'lit' shades.
They're about 200% the size of the oldschool River City Ransom sprites. Same thing still applies; pretty much just 1 character needs to be sprited,
the rest is a wonderful chore of headswapping at it's best. I need some more feedback here :P

Those are some pretty cool looking Zombies.

Ryan's hair seems a bit too puffy :P
Looking good regardless. :)

@Onju you ment the very first i posted, the ones on top? Yeah I had doubts about that, I though some realistic looking ones might be better for a remake. New things like the River City Ransom Online had the chibified ones again. So I guess these are more like Renagade. But the gameplay of RCR ofcourse, with all the human totem pole madness, if possible :P
I'm a bit suprised myself how good they look, these last ones I posted, although they're really mini. Might do more of these.
