Hello everyone,
I'm planning on doing Skullgirls characters, and maybe I will even start very soon.
However, I'm still looking for certain things:
  • http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/skullgirls-sprites-pc-files-153330.0.html
    This thread has got some nice sprites, but I sadly cannot use them. Could someone please convert these files into something that GiMP can read?
  • I'm also looking for the FX used in this game, included the effects used at the start of everyones Blockbuster (the super moves in this game).
  • And last, but not least, I would also like to have sound rips of everything (fight SFX, cutscene and character select sounds) and also voice rips of the Announcer and every character, that is currently made.

What is the format of these images? You could use XnView to change them to a standard imagen format  ;)

They are all kinds of weird formats: ART, FOIT, DDS, GBS, just to name a few.
I even could figure out the purpose of some, though:
The .snd-wav files are probably the sound rips I am looking for.
The DDS files are appearantly textures or something.

DDS is a standard file format for textures/2D art used in most modern games.

For sprites, there is a person who have dumped the contents of the art compendium's sprites onto a thread here:

Be advised that some resizing may be required.

For sounds, look them up on Youtube. I am sure that someone had made a video of all of the sounds and voices and it is only a simple matter to download the videos.

However, it is missing other stuff like menu graphics, HUD graphics and hitsparks.

Ah, okay. Do you possibly know, how I could convert them into any other file that GiMP can read? Thanks in advance!

I know literally nothing about Gimp but the there is a Photoshop plugin (linked on the wikipedia page) that let's you read and save DDS format files in Photoshop. I would imagine your best bet would be looking around for something similar for Gimp. Maybe some image viewer like InfranView or something is able to read and convert them, but I wouldn't really know.

I have IrfanView, but it cannot read these files either...

Actually Irfanview can read .dds files, maybe you don't have the extension checked. Open Irfanview, click options, click properties/settings or just Press ( P ) on keyboard, then click extensions on the left panel. You should see .dds file extension on the right panel and press the small box beside .dds to check it then hit ok. If you don't see .dds extension then you need to download the plugin for it.  Here http://www.irfanview.com/plugins

I just did what you said and checked the box, but IrfanView STILL cannot read the files...what do I do wrong?
EDIT1: Nevermind, I have downloaded formats.DLL, and it now works.
Now I will see, if the sprite pack also has hisparks. It seems to already have the super ports, to say the least...
EDIT2: Yep, rips of the super ports are there, but for me they are unuseable.
Does someone know of better rips of the super ports? Thanks in advance!
