Fixed up Mamizou's default palette to more closely resemble her default colors in Hopeless Masquerade. Personally I like this one better. Right is the original colors for comparison.


Byakuren and two custom palettes done with simple hue-shifting on the default.

Suika's command grab; Kidnapping Oni. Like in Soku, the LP and MP versions have a suction effect to extend its effective range at the expense of damage and recovery frames if the throw whiffs. The HP version has no suction, but deals the most damage and has the shortest animation duration if it whiffs.

Foot Bellows; a charge attack that must be blocked low and hits OTG. Perhaps best used for tacking on extra damage after a command grab, or even just popping opponents up to leave them at the mercy of her Spellcards, but that's a story for another time.

Gather Sign "Throwing Mt Tokagushi". Like Reimu's "Fantasy Nature", the properties of this move changes depending on its spacing; if used up close, it becomes an unblockable command grab, while if used from a distance, it becomes a projectile attack. Like Kidnapping Oni, the grab version of this move can be followed up with Foot Bellows for some extra damage.

So with Gensokyo Reloaded nearing its final major update, those who have been lurking the game's subforum should know by now that I've been working on Meimu, the final boss of the game. Seeing as she pertains predominantly to that game, you can track her progress here. That being said, I want to reveal the next character that I'll be working on:


Yes, your eyes aren't deceiving you, I'm going to be working on Yukari again. No, this isn't an update or a revamp to the current Yukari, but an entirely new character with an entirely new gameplay system. This new system was something I've been brainstorming for the past year in this thread and wanted to start working on for a while, but with Yukari having been included in Antinomy of Common Flowers as a returning playable character with a completely retooled moveset, I figured now was the best time to do this. If anything, this Yukari will serve more as a prototype for the system, with any feedback and changed made to her ultimately influencing the direction of my next fullgame project.

Q: Why aren't you using the new Yukari sprites from AoCF?
A: As much as I like the new style, with no crouching sprites available and inconsistency with other planned characters lacking sprites in Tasofro's new style, I'll be using Yukari's old sprites for this purpose.

Q: How much different will her gameplay be?
A: You can read about the new system here. As far as her moveset goes, she'll have more focus on her new moves from AoCF as opposed to her Soku moveset, with her older sprites adapted into new animations as needed.

Q: Will she have her urban legend/occult power from AoCF?
A: Implementing each character's occult powers from ULiL/AoCF was not something that was ever planned, especially for those not appearing in those games, so no, Yukari will not have her occult power. While this could be implemented as Yukari's Unique Skill for the new system, Yukari's Unique Skill was already planned in advance long before her reveal as playable in AoCF. Since Incident Zero will be more story focused than Gensokyo Reloaded, Yukari still having her urban legend power wouldn't make much sense from that perspective anyway. That doesn't eliminate the possibility of her occult power being referenced or reworked into her other moves, however...

Q: Will your other Yukari no longer be receiving updates?
A: Considering that the two characters are using different gameplay systems, I don't see this one as a replacement for the older Yukari, so there's no reason for me to stop updating the other Yukari for balance changes and bug fixes as needed.

Q: Why are you going for this new system?
A: This was something I wanted to do for a while now, not because I thought the old system is bad, but rather to broaden my horizons instead of getting stuck in one particular style.
