Yes Ryon is right. The author messed up the release title.
This stage is meant for HD resolutions and needs y start values and other things changed in order to appear right in 640x480.

you could easily add some background animations like some shadows coming from the right side in the back or maybe try to add an animation of Jigsaw's face/whole body showing up and going back...(you would just have to cut the right side wall and you would be all set :) )

just a thought

EDIT: also, since the background is pretty simple (bunch of squares back to back) you could edit and make the background bigger, it's pretty damn short as of now)

This stage is made for 1280,720 resolution. it will NOT look right on 640,480.
either upscale your mugen, or dont use it. .... or ask him to make it for 640,480.

Or just add a large black background underneath the stage that covers the open area.  That's the easiest way to do it.  No more crazy stuff going on, AND it will work with 640, 480.  !!!!!

tile will definately look horrible and not right. stages like this are not meant for such a code.

He meant tile a small black image to make it  cover a large area behind the stage to avoid smearing.
That way you don't have a 1280x720 solid black image in the .sff for no reason.

He wasn't talking about the actual stage.

would using bgclearcolor = 0,0,0, under [BGdef] work the same?

Not from my experience, I've always had to add a black background in order to get rid of the smearing.  It's like that with nearly every part of MUGEN, if the very first layer has nothing on it, then anything moving across it will smear.
