KOFE Story Brainstorming

Slightly more in depth than the blog's:

During the events of 2k1, Original Zero (for typing sake just Zero will do), became aware of Igniz' intentions to take over NEST.  Zero, loyal to NESTS president, attempted to warn him, but Nests didn't believe his most loyal soldier was a traitor.  Since Zero couldn't prove it and not wanting to shame himself as his Clone had, he let's it go.  During the finals, he puts up a "front", battling the winning team and "losing", apparently going down in flames.  His real intent was to test the team, hoping they would be strong enough to defeat Igniz. 

Immediately after learning of Nests death, Zero becomes furious with himself for not doing more.  Seeking to make up for lost ground attempts to use Nests unfinished work to harness the limitless powers of Orochi.  Zero is aware of the events surrounding Rugal's death and realized the only way to use Orochi's power is to convert it.  He journey's to a secret lair where Nests was creating a very unstable device that could potentially work towards that end.

With the machine in his possession, he moves with his agents to break the seal and tap the power, but the machine causes a flux, instead bringing the dead back to life and Orochi back via the resurrection of Chris.  Incredibly weak from being forced back into this world without ample power gathered for his coming, Orochi is forced to retreat, commanding his forces to hold off Zero's.  A second meeting is bound to occur, and only one will come out the victor.

Here are the motives for each team.  Doesn't cover their backstory or mention the actual tournament.  It's just to give an idea...


Hero team - Seek revenge on Zero's team for what they did to Chizuru.

Rival team - Carry out Zero's orders to seek out and capture Orochi.

Orochi team (Heralds of Orochi) - Back from the dead.  Tasked with defending Orochi while he recovers.

Boss team - To avoid further catastrophe, they move to intercept Zero.  Hidden intentions lurk within Geese.

K team (Neo Cartel) - Hearing about Zero's agents, they move to wipe out the last of NESTS.

Ikari Warriors - The threat to world peace is obvious and Heidern gets orders for his mercenaries to stop Zero at all costs.

Fata Fury team - With Geese on the move, the Bogards move to stop his potentially dangerous motives.

Art of Fighting team - Takuma has donned his Mr. Karate personality and joined up with Geese.  Unsure of his motives, his students move to snap him back to his senses.

Villains team - Tasked by Geese to stop meddlers from interfering with his plans.

Psycho Soldiers - In the name of love, peace and all such "Sailor Moon-ish" type stuff, Athena calls upon China's greatest to help her stop this Zero fellow.

Team Justice - Kim and Jhun gather their latest proteges to stop Zero's scheme in the name of justice!

Gorgeous Fighters - King supports Mary and Vanessa who get orders to pursue Geese.

Mark of the Wolves team - Tired of being left on the sidelines and with Geese on the move, Rock bands up a group of rookies to fight.

Saisyu - ???

Silver - ???

Sorry, didn't pull this from the blog in the initial post.  Has the Adel and Ash explanation:

Zero's agents:

Boss Krizalid (right hand man/bodyguard) - Like Zero, he survives the ship crash.  Being under Zero for a long time, he remains loyal to Zero's cause.

Rival Team:

Nameless - Zero was one of the few kind individuals that Nameless knew while he suffered in NESTS experiments.  Zero assists him retain Isolide's DNA within his glove. 

Angel - Has a crush on Nameless and remains loyal to NESTS cause.

Adel  - Rugal was somehow tied into NESTS operations.  Upon taking over their father's empire, Adel, although skeptical, joins Zero's cause (at his sister's urging). 

Ash - A free agent who offers his services to Zero.  Secretly he seeks out Chizuru so that he can steal her power, but after learning of Zero shadow arts, feels it's too risky to oppose him, so he bides his time.

Well, to be fair, most stories are about justice or revenge.  K', Kyo and Terry and Mary have the same stories worded differently too.  Ikari's more a global, military operation.  Athena's a super hero, and Kim's a man obsessed with justice.  Their background stories will be more fleshed out.  This was just a quick 1 2 type of thing.

Loona, I like the Saisyu one.  Like he's testing Kyo's level type of thing.  Silber needs something a little deeper.  I need to look into this guy a little more.

I like the history for Adel there, and Angel's crush on Nameless is a nice touch - I like to think the messing with time implied by the recent developments in the Ash/Those From The Past plot affected little things like effectively replacing K9999 with Nameless in the canonical plot (or creating the KoF timeline as something separate from the FF/AoF one, or making noone actually age in KoF, etc...), a ripple in time sort of thing.

Considering technically she's still training under Chin, who's had some "feeling evil in the air" moments in the games, whatever role she has now is probably incomplete compared to whatever she may be expected to achieve in the future. Her super in the NGPC SvC where she actually turns into the classic "goddess" Athena (not to mention other moves with that sort of temporary wardrobe in some KoF games) makes me wonder if there are plans to make those characters, usually depicted as separate, maybe converge someday. Quite unlikely, but it's a more entertaining thought than putting up with her teen idol image forever.

IMO, Kim's not so much obsesses wit justice as he is with coming up with excuses to beat people to a pulp that won't get him to jail - go for people who are or look like criminals and noone will call you out on it. From the look of his KoF XI ending, when he's not getting that kind of opportunity he's drinking himself o a stupor reciting the justice speeches he uses as justifications. He's like SFA3/SSF4 Cody with a better PR plan, they'd make a great match in another crossover if that were to happen.

When Magaki beats him in KoF XI he comments he's a man looking for transcendence, or something of the sort. I think he (Silber) also has a special quote against Oswald in that game, probably related to either their ages or ability levels for their ages. When he challenges you in story mode, he throws away the body of Buriki One's Muay Thai guy.

His depiction in Buriki One isn't vast, but there's some artwork and scenes that illustrate it - iirc there's a pic of him sparring with the old Tai Chi Chuan guy from the same game, a likely callback to a story attributed to real-life karateka Mas Oyama, whom apparently only admitted defeat by an old Chinese Tai Chi practitioner (apparently he couldn0t manage to land a hit on the old man, though both got tired eventually iirc). Another picture has him beating up a bear. In the game, he just jumps on the arena and challanges the player, doesn't seem to have actually signed up for the tournament like the others. If you use him and beat the game with him, unlike other character who are interviewed and answer questions, he just jumps away when faced with the journalists.

I figure his transcendence plan is a a Ryu/Gouki kind of thing - push your mental and physical limits in combat. So he goes wherever he'll find someone who'll put up a fight, whether they expect him or not.

In KOF canon (not counting the separate KOF MI canon), Geese is still alive and well.  I think SNK did that on purpose so they could bring the fan favorite in at any time.  Otherwise Geese actually wouldn't make sense since he's never touched Orochi blood.

SNK, doesn't seem to have any big plans for the Psycho Soldiers in the latest games.  It drags on and on about stuff that never happens.  Don't forget that this story would be a tweener between 2k1 and 2k3 so I'm trying to make the story fit.  All I've gathered is that she's an aging pop star and incredibly popular.  What makes sense to me, since she's the most "visible" to the world, when evil is running amok, people would look to her for help (kinda like Mr. Satan in DBZ even though Athena is way more powerful canonwise).  Feel free to let me know if I misinterpreted.  SNK's latest stuff confuses the crap out of me.

I see Kim as an overly exaggerated martial arts instructor.  Those who've taken Martial Arts classes with a dedicated teacher probably know what I'm talking about.  Martial arts saves the world, beating you up to make a point, courage, valour, thrill of the fight etc...  I agree that Kim loves to fight, but I don't know if I'd agree with him being like Cody who's a drifter and has little care for things other than the fight.  I mean, Kim has a family that he loves etc...  This'll play into my team specific story since MayLee basicly abandons him because of her disagreements with him.  This'll basically upset him and wonder what went wrong with her.

I like the Silver stuff.  I see this as a good opportunity to give him some dimension.  Will try to keep his personality in tact.

I wouldn't say that Kim loves fighting above all else. He loves justice, or at least claims to. My theory is that he was incredibly devoted to true justice at first, but over time, got to the point where he might beat someone up for jaywalking. He's also a bit self centered, possibly considering himself the epitome of the ultimate 'good guy'. Just look at those pearly white smiles, not to mention how he acts in some of the endings.

(And in my honest opinion, the definition of 'justice' is very much self-interpreted...)

Ok now we have Zero with the remaining NeStS force, Orochi(Chris) weak and the remanining of his clan and the presence of ASH from the future KOF saga.

Zero now need reorganize all his force and take control of the Orochi Clan now.

For Zero lucky a strange man contact with zero and give him very usefull information about orochi (ASH) he dont say his true intentions but in this moment Zero need all the help he can use (In fact nets never understood Orochi power and nature).

Ash revel the existence of the 3 sacred treasures and the current owners (Chizuru, Kyo, Iori) also says he can sustract the sacred treasures from the hosts, Zero accept Ash help.

Zero needs to attract Kyo, Iori and Kagura for the Treasueres and with this he can attract the Orochis coz they see this is the best oportunity to rid the Kusanagi-Yagami-Kagura clans and guarantee the rebirth of this god.

Zero think he need to organize another KOF tournament for attract many strong fighters (fighting data for new clones), the orochi clan(Chris-Orochi), and the three sacred treasueres.

Now with the fail of the KOF2001 tournament due the NESTS rampage (southtown was destroyed etc...) Zero
reorganize the KOF tournament once again for his own dark agenda. >:D


Here are the motives for each team.   8)  (PS. i think 3 players team works better)


Kyo team -> Kyo-Benimaru-Goro (Original Japan Teams Forever :sugoi:)

This time Kyo really wants destroy NESTS once for all, he has grudge agains NESTS for all the experiments they done with him in all NEST saga.(Maybe he wants a economic compesation for use his DNA whitout his persmison ;D)


Iori Team -> Iori-Elizabeth-Chizuru_Kagura (Iori really dont want team with KYO, Kyo feels in the same way )

Elizabeth contact with Kyo-Iori-Kagura and tells about the resurection of Orochi by Zero and the alliance of ASH with NESTS cartel, when the new KOF tourment was anounced they make teams and go to tourment for put end to NESTS and orochi resurection.
PD. Mature and Vice are death in the oficial canon (Ioris fault >:D) but if you want they come maybe they can be resurected by orochi as formal members of the Hakkesshu(Orochi Clan)


Heralds of Orochi -> Yashiro-Shermie-Goenitz

Back from the dead.  Tasked with defending Orochi while he recovers.
Mmm in the oficial canon Goenitz is death but maybe you can put Wind/Goeniko/Reas and make her come to the plot --;  in fact i prefer Wind over Goenitz :sugoi:  Goenitz must be always a BOSS coz his one of the Four Heavenly Kings with Awakened Chris-Shermie-Yashiro)


K team -> K-Maxima-Kula

Hearing about Zero's agents, they move to wipe out the last of NESTS.
With the end of Ingniz K moves to put end all the remaining NESTS bases with the guide of Heidern(maybe her sister(Whip) orders to do ;P).


Ikari Warriors-> Heidern-Ralf-Clark

The threat to world peace is obvious and Heidern gets orders for his mercenaries to stop Zero at all costs.
PD. Maybe you can put leona and Whip in another team with Foxy or Diana but in the canon Foxy was stabed by K9999 at the end of KOF2001 and she is presumible death.


Fata Fury team -> Terry-Joe-Andy

With Geese on the move, the Bogards move to stop his potentially dangerous motives (fucking Geese >:D).


Art of Fighting team -> Takuma-Ryo-Robert

For stop NESTS once for all. past KOF2001 motives. :P


Villains team -> Gato-Billy-Yamasaki

Tasked by Geese to stop meddlers from interfering with his plans.


Athena Team -> Athena-(Momoko-Hinako-LiXianfei-Malin-Kasumi) duno maybe can make 2 teams :sugoi: someting like Athena Team and Kasumi Team. ;P

In the KOF2001 whith the original canon BAO was injured and he and Kensou loses his power knowing this fact Master Chin prohibits Kensou and Bao to enter the new KOF tournament the same for Athena but she goes alone and make Team with her classmates ala KOF XI style
PD. Kensou can make a single entry but with the Psycho power


Team Justice ->  Kim-Chang-Choi (and a second team formet of Duck-Jwa-Jhun)
Gather their latest proteges to stop Zero's scheme in the name of justice!


Gorgeous Fighters ->King-Yuri-May

King supports Mai and Yuri who get orders to pursue Geese.


Mark of the Wolves team ->Rock-Hotaru-Jenet

Tired of being left on the sidelines and with Geese on the move, Rock bands up a group of rookies to fight.
In fact Rock never come into KOF canon outside Maximum Impact 2 (another crap game >:() but Hotaru and Jenet are in the KOF XI, mmmmmmm ok why not mugen is mugen
Rock comes to the scene to face his father, Hotaru joins Rock coz he make the promise of help her to find his lost brother, Jenet has a crush on Terry(After seeing an old photograph of him, Jenet considers Terry as "her first love".) and joins Rock for help Terry.


Silver Team-> Lee-Silver-Eiji

mmmm. Silver in fact is the SNK version of Capcoms Gouki a man who only want to fight with the most powerful fighters his not evil. For this tournament i think Krauser/Geese promices a battle wiht him only he join the KOF tournament. Eiji have some bussines with yagami. And Lee is a mercenary.


Anti Hero Team -> Nameless-Ash-Angel

With Zero aliance with Ash he joins KOF with this team.
For Nameless, Zero promicess resurect Isolde only if he help Zero for acomplish his agenda.
For Angel mmmmmmmm...... in the canon she has a crush on K9999 but for the copyright(Akira movie) all the story was changed --; but this is my theory: 
At the end of KOF2001 K9999 go out of control, Zero and Angel tries to stop him but all the efforts goes to nothing Angel dont want his only friend die and pledges Zero to save him, Zero dont want to lose more agents and with the help of Krizalid and other NESTS agents they capture K9999 and put into a cell in the NESTS base. Seeing his friend in this state Angel loses all interest in fight. But Zero need Angel in his plans he brainwashed the girl and make replace all the memories of K9999 for Nameless, now a confused Angel looks K9999 in Nameless.


Blue Mary Team -> Mary-Raiden-Tizoc

Mary want to stop NESTS and ask for her granpa assist Raiden. and Raiden ask to his old friend Tizon to join the team.


Agents Team-> Vanessa-Seth-Ramon

Stops NETS.


South-Town Kings team -> Geese-MrBig-Krauser

To avoid further catastrophe, they move to intercept Zero.  Hidden intentions lurk within Geese.
Ok in the KOF96 they disolved the team and say the never work again together but they have a common enemy NESTS. And for Geese he knows about orochi resurection and this time he want that power.

PD. In the oficial canon maybe be dead coz the FF Real Bout says that but for make KOF96 the authors resurect
him and make him inmortal you can read in this page (http://snk.wikia.com/wiki/Geese_Howard) --;
PD2. Mr Karate are only Takuma with mask he only have a evul side in SVC-Chaos (But that game is crap, trash)


NESTS Bosses Team-> Krizalid-Adelheid-Dio

For Adel - Rugal was somehow tied into NESTS operations.  Upon taking over their father's empire, Adel, although skeptical, joins Zero's cause (at his sister's urging).

For Krizalid, in the canon he dead but Zero made a new one (Instat cloning Mark Acme :sugoi:) But this clone dont have any memories and is more week that the original Krizalid, But Zero restored the last fight data from the NESTS computer of the last fight of Krizalid with K and now fully funcional Krizalid was born (maybe he has some memories of the original) but he wants a remath with K.

For Dio in the seach for stonger fighter NESTS agents found a strange being presumible a Cyborg fight with a ninja (Hanzo) with the result of the winning of Hanzo and the destruction of Dio, with a wounded Hanzo the neSTS agents take the rest of Dio (with a broom :sugoi:) and take to the NESTS laboratoris when they restore the Cyborg for his own purposes >:D


Saysiu Team -> Saisyu-Shingo-Kyoko the KOF2001 Stiker/Yukino Osawa from KOF Memorial

For Saisyu want to test Kyo progress as the future succesor of the clan.
For Shingo, Ok Saisyu reclutes and train Shingo in the end of the KOF2001, i think(hope) with the good sensei Kusanagi shingo now improve his abilities( :S at least he can use lighter for simule the flames :sugoi:).
For the other team member
-Kyoko a classmate of Shingo and Kyo and a fan of Kyo maybe this chick have more potensial over shingo :sugoi:
-Yukino Osawa i really like this character but dunno is the creator give permision to use her, in any fact Yukino is a class mate of Kyo and Shingo one day she say Shingo and his sensei training with the flames and only for fun she trys too and for surprice of Saisyu the girl genere a flamme, now Saisyu convince her (pledge :P) to become her disciple. What is the mysteri over Yukino for that power only the time tells.


Final Bosses

Zero - Orochi - Revived Omegarugal (MKIII :sugoi:) - Revived Goenitz - Nigtmare Geese(with the Orochi power)

You added and took away characters and rearranged the teams. This is about ideas for the story, not roster. Anyways, here's some stuff I cooked up, though it's been a while, so i'm a bit rusty.

Silber-He doesn't officiallly join the tournament, but challenges only the worthiest opponents *hint*beat the bosses *hint* to fully test his abilities.

Mr. Karate- Either brainwashed by Geese or acts under him in order to both test his students and find out Geese's plot

Rugal-Simple. Get revenge on Kyo for killing him TWICE and claim the power of Orochi.

Goenitz-A FINE WIND BLOWS

Geese dont have the resourcess for brainwashing somebody the man is a ganster, In AOF Karate work for Geese only coz yuri was kidnapped by MrBig.

Paulo, you have some pretty interesting ideas with some of the character stories, but I'm not really willing to change the roster at this point.  Especially not for unpopular choices like Chang and Choi.  There are 4 character in a team since mugen allows for up to 4 characters by default.  3 members per team doesn't make sense when the system maxes out at 4.  Maybe try taking the teams as they exist and create a story around that.

Mr. Karate's reasons for joining are closer to # 2 I'm thinking.  He's kind of keeping Geese in check, but also using his help because the powers they're up against requires experience as well as power.  Kinda an unholy alliance so to speak.

Rugal and Kyo have a special intro based off of what you mentioned.  Kyo states, "Let's do this already" and Rugal says, "I've been waiting for this moment." :)

There have always been powerful foes.  What's the trigger that captures Silver's interest this time around?  That's the depth I'm looking for.  For example:  Silver may have lost to someone in the past (let's say Geese), and went on a training quest of sorts to better himself.  Now confident in his superior strength, he hunts for worthy foes.  That's what I mean by depth.  Give him a little substance.  Just brainstorm it.

Silver could sense Orochi, and what's more of a challenge than fighting a god?

I'll think of something. It's hard to think of something for Silver, since he's only appeared in two games and neither of them really explained him. Then again, that opens up possibilities to go wild with his story..

Making a minor edit for now.  Mr. Karate and Silver are switching places.  Geese entices Krauser to join the boss team by goating him with a new strong challenging opponent.  That opponent is Silver.  Karate will now act as Saisyu does, kinda like a test for the AOF team.  This change is in prep for something...

Months ago I found they actually made a Buriki One comic (Hong Kong thingy), and in it it was Ryo who beat Silver when he was young, driving him to improve himself into the beast he became. Hardly canon you can count on, but it's something.

Considering Silver's canon involves a match against the old Tai Chi guy from Buruki One, a possible driving motive for him would be to take on the older guys like Takuma, Saishyu, Geese and Krauser wile they're still in their prime or darn close to it, since as they age they'll be less of a challenge so there may be less to learn from them.
I rather fancy the idea of a battle royale of SNK veterans, and I figure it's something that might lure out Silber as well.

Well story's gonna get changed up a bit with the new cast addition.  Figure there'll be 2 branches:

Orochi Branch:

Chizuru, Chris, Shermie, Yashiro, Goenitz, Orochi

Mature and Vice are filler characters. They assist in their team's story to defeat Zero.

Zero Branch:

Rugal, Angel, Adel, Nameless, Krizalid, Zero

Rock and Jenet are filler characters.  They were coerced into helping NESTS defeat Orochi.  Well Rock was anyway, Jenet tags along because she finds Rock to be a fun companion.

New teams include the Legends team and the New Heroes team (need an actual name for them).  Mostly everyone else's story stays the same.

Update.  Rock gets mixed up with Adel and his "bodyguard" Angel via Adel's manipulative sister Rose who takes a liking to the boy after a chance encounter with him.  Oswald is a hired gun for the team.  More details on how this all plays out later.  Rugal will be a key point in their story

The New Blood team will be associated to Nameless and Zero and Kriz

The Orochi team will be associated with Chris (duh) and Orochi and Goenitz

Why Chizuru is there?...She's not one of Orochi branch...She guards the seal so Orochi won't be free and besides...In storyline Kyo, Chizuru and Iori have 3 Sacred Treasures that can destroy him.

So, with everything else moving along, time to share the revisions to the story:

Intro Story:

Chizuru prays by the fire one night after the chaos of KOF XIII. She has been unsettled ever since Ash vanish from existence. The timeline has been disrupted and a tidal effect is rippling through time. The time when the effect hits the present time is near. As she prays, she sees a vision. The dead returning and the timelines merging. Hated foes like Goenitz and Rugal back among the living, Orochi Unleashed and something more sinister.

The Goddess Athena appears before her, sensing her sensitivity to the incoming imbalance of good and evil. She tells Chizuru that there is a greater evil on the horizon and the tidal effect will weaken the barrier between worlds. She has come to help balance things out and offset the power of Orochi, but she will need the help of Earth's champions to draw out the new evil and defeat it. Chizuru decides to hold a new KOF tournament to assist the Goddess in her quest to restore balance and solve the mystery of the new evil.

Mid Story:

The unnamed evil resurrects the unwitting puppet Shiki to serve as a herald and gain the support of powerful evils to conquor this realm. Shiki is drawn to KOF and finds and joins the resurrected Orochi who recognizes the evil that controls her as his brother Yomi. Shiki reveals that Yomi wishes to further break dimensional rifts to bring about his warlord Neo-Dio. Orochi agrees to help if only to see the chaos Neo-Dio will bring. The team journey to Orochi's old resurrection site where the dimensional barriers are at their weakest.

In order to regain balance, Athena calls out to her sister Gaea to summon a herald of her own to stop Shiki and counter act Yomi's dark powers. Gaea sends her herald Nakoruru to help Chizuru and Athena. Athena places her in the care of the old Legends team in order to ensure she has protectors should Orochi attempt to ambush her. Nakoruru sends out a distress call to all able bodied fighters to join her against Orochi, but the call also reaches villains who would see Orochi succeed. The villains mobilize to block the would be heroes from stopping the summoning of Neo-Dio.

Pre Boss Story:

Neo-Dio Path (True Path)

Goddess Athena's band of heroes make it to the site before Orochi, but discover that NESTS is in a battle to hold the site for Orochi's arrival from the Ikari Warriors, the Neo Cartel and the Agency. The remaining heroes join the fight and push back NESTS allowing for Goddess to strike down Zero. Before the heroes can celebrate, the Heralds of Orochi arrive and Shiki strikes down Goddess in a sneak attack. Her blood is all that is needed to break the dimensional walls. As Nakoruru desperately tries to heal the wounded god, Neo Dio steps into our world. He immediately betrays Orochi and absorbs his life essence to become even strong.

Ending Story:

So I've updated the story with a mid story update. I'll try to do the pre-boss battle later today too. Bosses aside, there are 16 teams registered in this KOF and so I'll go over each one's intro in updates to this blog.

Heroes Team: Kyo, Iori, Benimaru, Goro

Iori's choice to regain his treasure has an effect on him. He realizes he has a responsibility and cannot just do as he pleases. He also pauses to think about how he has been letting his powers control him for so long. He seeks out Kyo for a final decisive battle, stating that he wishes to kill the ghosts of the past and let both of them move to their own future. The atomsphere of this battle is different than the others as it pits two comrades in arms, rather than rivals or fighters obsessed with the fight. The battle interrupted by a vision of the reawakened Orochi. Benimaru and Goro join the fighters showing an invite to the next KOF. Understanding that the tensions between then are different now that Iori has experienced life without the curse, he offers Iori a spot on their four man team.

Kyo
"Destiny curses us to play a role from which we are obliged to follow. Maybe this is an opportunity for us to break the cycle and give ourselves our own purpose."

Iori
"Call it whatever you want. The only thing that concerns me now is shoving this curse back down Orochi's own throat."

Benimaru
"He's a wild card. What if the curse takes over again."

Kyo
"If our fight has shown anything, it's that he can control the curse within him."

Iori
"Whatever."

Neo Cartel: K`, Kula, Maxima, Lin

Diana and Foxy look to expand the team's role to more than just helping Heidern's band of mercenaries. They create their own operation called the Neo Cartel with the intention of having less of a global presence and do more of the covert operations. They do only the missions they want to do and communicate with Heidern through Whip. During one of their missions, K` and Maxima discover an old NESTS base. They realize that someone has been there first and has used their NESTS access codes to obtain information. Are there other members of NESTS still alive? Whip radios the team. Another KOF tournament is about to begin. Perhaps the team will find its answers there.

Maxima
"It's definitely NESTS handiwork. And they've wiped everything. This looks like another clone lab, but nothing here looks familiar to me"

Whip (Radio)
"For them to have made such a move would mean they're getting ready to surface... whoever they are."

Maxima
"They didn't try to cover up. My guess is they're issuing a challenge..."

K`
"This is so annoying. All this build up just for me to turn them to ash. They should've just stayed in their hole."

"I've been order to the Ikari team since Heidern is missing. I'm sending a sleeper agent familiar with NESTS to join your team."

Well I enjoy writing more than coding. That's for sure. I'll definitely have an intro storyboard with graphics and text. Not sure if I'll have one main ending or an ending per team. More thought required on how I can get that done.

Agency: Ash, Elisabeth, Shen, Duo Lon

Despite Ash removing himself from existence, something continued to linger. Elisabeth still remembered celebrating his birthdays, playing with him in the field and teaching him to ride horses. He couldn't be completely gone. Elisabeth and Shen, her new bodyguard, travel with a small entourage to Duo Lon's village. Duo Lon assistance is stopping Saiki has regained him some respect within his clan. There she hopes to create an alliance that will see both her network and Hizoku's reach grow. As the old friends meet up, Duo Lon reveals Ash to a shocked Elisabeth. In his hands, he holds a KOF envelope from Chizuru. Somehow she knew he would return.

Duo Lon
"The village priests have sensed a disruption in the natural balances that has steadily been increasing since Ash disappeared. Chizuru must know what that is."

Elisabeth
"Does it really matter? Ash has returned and I would very much like to keep it that way."

Ash
"Oh Betty, I'm not sure how much time I really have, so I can't pass up such an interesting mystery."

Elisabeth
"Alright, if I can't stop you, then I shall join you. But you are not to leave my side!"

"As you wish Betty."

Psycho Soldiers - about the story of this team, could we have something linked with Godess Athena and Kensou inner power (Dragon Spirit) ?

For once, Kensou could be a master piece in Kof's story... always having Kyo and Iori in the center is a little boring.

The main conflict focuses on Chizuru, Nakoruru and Goddess vs Orochi, Shiki and Neo-Dio. The secondary conflict on the resurrection of NESTS. And a third "nod" to Rugal's craving to become immortal.

Primary focus will be given to Kyo, Iori, Athena and Ash. Support focus to Leona, K', Kula and Kusanagi. Third story's main focus is Adel.  Kensou is a supporting character in Athena's story, older and ready to prove his love, so he'll be around.

Hmm if thats the case maybe I can add these in each team's goal to enter in KOF.
Just my thought if you like it swipergod.
1. Hero Team: Shingo is brutally assaulted by Kusanagi or under doubt after KOF XI scenario hence Iori is asked by Chizuru to join with Japan team.
2. Fatal Fury: The Usual Except Terry and Rock now have a feud between them.
3. AOF: Kasumi joins them after seeing her father allied with Takuma in veteran's division.
4. K Team(Neo Cartel): End the Nests for good, K' to resolve his beef with Kyo.
5. NEST Squadron: Eliminate K Team and Kusanagi's personal vendetta against Kyo as he plans to eliminate him to be the one, Nameless to find out the truth about his lover's tragic fate.
6. Gorgeous Fighters: The reason: King and Xiangfei have decided to open a resturant and enlist Jenet and Mary for prize money.
7.  AOF: Promote Kyoukugen Karate.
8. Villains: Assigned by Boss Team to take out Certain Teams, John wanting to settle with Ryo and Raiden want to reclaim the sadistic side.
9. Boss team: United for obtaining the orochi power.
10. Masters Team: United to face against the legends.
11. Rival Team: Another Ash appears (This one from Maximum Impact Area) and joins with Elisabeth and his former teamates (Though doubtful about this)
12. New Blood/Rivals:  Adel teams up Rock, Mature and Vice( not sure how the former two fits here) to stop Rugal and Boss Team.

Some great stuff. I'm trying to be a bit more sympathetic with Kusanagi. He's joined NESTS, but it because he didn't feel like he belonged anywhere else  (kinda like "Kyo you made me do this!").

Yes 100% to Nameless. In fact, that's part of why one of the old NESTS locations was raided in the (Neo Cartel) storyline. NESTS follows Krizalid and Zero and yet, they kinda distrust them...

The Master's team is actually assembled to stop the boss team and other threats they don't feel the "kid" should be facing alone. They're on the same side as the Legends. For this reason, I still may switch Mr Karate to Takuma.

The Rival Team will be an interesting dynamic. They are 3 naive kids who have been fooled into serving the purpose of stopping different kinds of threats to Orochi (those who would try to steal his power). And yet, Mature and Vice don't really believe in the Orochi cause anymore... ;)

About Raiden, there may be another reason for his joining of the "Villains" team...

The Fatal Fury Team is more about stopping the Boss team.

AOF is more about proving themselves to their fathers

Gorgeous Fighters... not sure yet. I want them involved in the main plot. There has to be an emotional attachment here.

Ash's team (The Agency) actually does see the original Ash return. As to why? That's part of the mystery... :)

Ikari Warriors and "Psycho Soldiers" will play a close part of the main plot. Ikari will be trying to stop the NESTS team, whereas Athena's team will be trying to free Shiki from Yomi's control.

Team Justice is, well, looking for justice. lol. More to come on them.

Regarding the Gorgeous Fighters, King entered the KOF tournament with Chizuru in '97 and became good friends afterwards, (according to their ending anyway,) right? It's possible (probable even,) that upon receiving the good news from Goddess Athena, Chizuru felt that she needed all the help she could get, and so enlisted King and Mai's help once again to take down whatever was threatening to take over the world. (OF COURSE!) Mind you, Mai had already set her sights on teaming up with Andy, and Chizuru needed to go do big important behind the scenes stuff, which kind of left King out in the cold. But not to fear! King was still on good terms with Blue Mary and Xiangfei, so it wasn't a problem getting their help to enter KOF and deal with whatever was out there, and as for Bonne, she was already a regular customer at her bar The Illusion in Southtown, popping in with her crew for a round of drinks whenever they needed a break from their pirating. As long as they weren't doing anything explicitly illegal or amoral, (seeing as they only stole from the rich,) she didn't have a problem with them, and it was a cinch getting Bonne to join as soon as King mentioned her tab. Together, they make up the Gorgeous Fighters, and with King leading the helm, they plan on helping Chizuru take on the Orochi and anything else that gets in their way.

Does that work? Or are you looking for something a bit more complicated?

Wow thats Neat But Hey for Team Justice, Chang has brutal food poisoning and Choi gets a fracture hence they have not place in this tournament, I always wondered why they were not part of Kim's Team since KOF XI to XIII. Till then Richard Joins them to Relive the glory he had and  If Capcom characters do play some role then tell me we have minor partss of them just like certain characters had in Street Fighter V

Wild Wolves: Terry, Andy, Joe, Mai

Terry returns to Southtown to learn from Blue Mary that Geese has been summoned away to a private conference and that Rock has gone after him. After cracking a few heads, the two of them learn the location of the conference and Terry calls Andy and Joe to meet them there. Team Fatal Fury reunites along with the Gorgeous Fighters. King informs everyone that a new KOF is taking place and Joe admits that he totally forgot to bring the Fatal Fury Team's letter. Exploring inside the room where the meeting occurred, it seems like some heavy hitters were present and that Krauser was the organizer. On the table lies an invite envelope to the KOF tournament. He makes it his team's goal to bring down the supposed "Boss Team" and bring Rock back safely.

So, doing a little more brainstorming. The major hero of KOFE's story will be Athena. I won't go into too much detail, but there's a moment in there made to bring her into the spotlight. Also, the Capcom characters will play some part in the story. This whole side story of the KOF lore is due to the fact that Tessa was playing around with forces she shouldn't have. Tessa, Morrigan, Nakoruru and Shiki play important roles advancing in the story. Hopefully I'll have some time to work on this a bit more...

Kyokugen: Ryo, Robert, Yuri, Kasumi?

Robert and Yuri enjoy a night on the town, when suddenly Kasumi bursts into their nightclub and demands to fight them. Yuri tries to calm Kasumi down, but Kasumi accuses Takuma for kidnapping her father Ryuhaku. Robert suggests that perhaps the old men were also invited to the KOF tournament, although when he tries to search for his inviation, he realizes it's missing. The three return to the Sakazaki dojo. They find Ryo and ask him where Takuma is. They see a man sitting in the shadows of Takuma's room only to find out it's a decoy. Attached to it is a note that their fathers have left. "The world's in serious danger. Stay home and let the grown men handle this".

Gorgeous Fighters: King, Mary, Jenet, Hinako

Returning from their meeting with the Garou team, King and Mary go to the illusion bar to up with Hinako, whose been staying with King for summer studies. They find her holding back a swarm of pirates looking to pillage King's bar. Mary and King fight through the pirates to discover B. Jenet behind everything. Jenet was looking for clues to Rock's whereabouts and was told by a couple of well dressed women that King might know something. And she figured it wouldn't hurt to grab some green while she was at it. King tells her about the a big heist going down with Krauser and Geese. Jenet immediately joins up to earn a payday and save that rebellious Rock.

Jenet
There must be something big to draw out the Boss team out from the shadows. Maybe it's a magic lamp!

King
Unlikely. The last time this happened, they were trying to steal the Orochi power.

Hinako
It all sounds very dangerous. I'm glad I've been training!

The only thing dangerous about this tournament is me! And I'm on your side, so you've got nothing to worry about.

King

Psycho Troop: Athena, Kensou, Gato, Hotaru

People from around the world gather for what promises to be Athena's biggest and best concert to celebrate the launch of her new album and her new #1 hit single. An excited Jhun, Maylee and her new friend Hotaru are among those in the sea of humanity. As Athena sings the stage lights malfunction, Shiki emerges from the darkness in an attempt on Athena's life. A returning Kensou tries to defend Athena, but is nearly killed by one of Shiki's strikes. Athena fights back with the help of Jhun, Maylee and Hotaru. Gato, having been watching over his sister from the rafters, jumps in and connects with a deadly strike, but Shiki doesn't fall. Injured, she instead decides to make a retreat.

Is everyone okay? Who was that?

Gato
She's not of the living. She took my serpent fang without so much as a flinch.

Athena
Kensou are you ok?

As if there wasn't enough crazies during the last KOF tournament. Are we sure we still want to enter?

Team Justice: Kim, Jhun, Maylee, Xiangfei

Kim sits in Xiangfei's restaurant joking with her about how Maylee lost a bet to Jhun and was forced to be his date to the big Athena concert. Xiangfei wishes she knew so she could've taken her place. Kim balks at the idea, since her time is best spent training and suggests that he can could make her into a hero of justice if she joins her team... and she keeps the plates of food coming. As Xiangfei and Kim discuss the letter he received inviting him to the tournament, Jhun and Maylee crash in, looking like they've been through a meat grinder, scaring away Xiangfei's other customers.

Kim
What devastation could have cause my lifelong rival and top student to look like they're on death's doorstep.

Jhun
There's a new power stirring. It tried to kill Athena!

Maylee
It escaped our kicks of justice.

Jhun
I don't see the difference between kicks of justice and regular kicks...

Kim
Say no more fellow justice warriors! We shall save Athena and her friends from this new wicked evil!

Ikari: Leona, Ralf, Clark, Whip

Monitoring the events of the past several days, the Ikari Warriors meet to go over the most troubling details and how to plan their attack. The missing masters, the suspicious activities of the bosses, the attack by Shiki, the re-emergence of NESTS and the reappearance of Ash. Despite having Chizuru's letter formally inviting them to the tournament, the Ikari team can't seem to track her down. They decide to head to ground zero where the most energy fluctuations are occurring to see if they can get answers from the source, but a soldier stops them before they can board the helicopter. It's not just Ash who is back. The dead are rising. Lost, the Ikari Warriors search Heidern's office, hoping to find clues. They stumble upon correspondence with Saisyu that theorizes about the cause of the strange occurrences.

Clark
This stuff is getting pretty weird. Looks like we might be breaking more than the regular evil doer.

Leona
Affirmative. The commander's notes state some extra dimensional being may have weakened another Ostium seals.

Ralf
Man, Ostium sounds like a kind of bone chipping or something. Like I get the seals when I slap Clark's momma.

Whip
This is serious Ralf. The Orochi seals cause chaos. On top of that now, we have someone who's bringing the dead back.

Ralf
Then let's find this stranger and boot them the hell out of our dimension.

So based off the stories I've written so far, here's the "rivals" breakdown

The Japan team is going after the Heralds of Orochi and Orochi himself
The Neo Cartel is going after the NESTS Cartel including Zero
The Fatal Fury team is going after the Boss team
The Women team is going to support the Fatal Fury team and duke it out with the Villains team
The AOF team is going to find out what the Master's team is up to
The Psycho soliders team is going to seek out the reason why the one who knows why Shiki attacked Athena (Goddess)
The Justice team is going to support the Psycho soldiers and take out Shiki
The Agency is going to seek out Chizuru directly about the dimensional rifts - they will eventually support the Neo Cartel
The Ikari Warriors are going to seek out the the being causing the rifts (Neo Dio) - they will eventually support the Japan Team

Although I haven't written anything else yet here's how the rest breaks down:

The Adel/Rock team will go after Rugal
The Legends team will try to find Nakoruru to guide her to the Goddess

That's what's going on. In the KOFE story. As you can see, I really only have 2 more stories to do, but I'll also do one for the Masters, the Villains and Nakoruru.

So need to do some story changes based off the reshuffle of the roster:

Team Justice: Kim, Jhun, Tizoc, Maylee

Kim stands at ringside of Tizoc's big title defense. Once the battle's over, Kim laments to Tizoc how Maylee lost a bet to Jhun and was forced to be his date to the big Athena concert instead of training. Tizoc explains to Kim that the secret to youth and justice is to train, but also to enjoy what life has to offer to give ones self motivation. Kim is inspired by the big guy and tells him to join his team for the next KOF tournament. Just then, Jhun and Maylee crash in, looking like they've been through a meat grinder.
