What should I call this palette?

Has a good flow to it. Just need to get it so the colors n all that are homogeneous.

level three will either be the HSDM from 2002UM, or his Neomax from XIII. Both can be pulled off pretty easily with existing sprites, but they both feel pretty eh to me, so much so that I'm still undecided 3 or 4 years after I first started thinking about doing Benimaru! But right now I'm probably leaning more towards the Neomax; it might be boring and lazy, but it at least has some oomf. Though I guess the HSDM could have weird/fun combo potential...

Those are both fine moves, even Neomax which is eh

And I'm sure they have utility beyond my limited knowledge

But have you considered that Benimaru is a cool guy and that Genei Hurricane is move for cool guys

I like Genei Hurricane, it's cool.

... but Genei Spark is a lot cooler. And Hurricane isn't really suitable for a level 3, IMO.

I tried to frankensprite an air throw animation and uh it looks like shit :(

Benimaru just doesn't have many aerial frames where his legs are positioned in the right way.

Oh wow, I'm an idiot xD Totally forgot that was the name of that.

But yeah, that or Elec-Trigger could fit more for a Level 3 super. Or, if you wanna get creative/take liberties, combine Genei Hurricane with the NEOMAX somehow.

still has some issues, but I think I'm on the right track here. Just need to find the right combination of frames.

Alright I think I got it:


also, here's a weird thing I noticed: the success animation that plays when Genei Spark hits is animated wrong

it skips over one of the sprites in sequence and instead jumps back several frames. Here is what I imagine the animation was supposed to look like:


Animation data has been recorded, sprites have been sorted, and now I can begin the long, slow process of separating shit... unless I get bored and start coding stuff. Who knows what will happen!

Wish I can help but this ain't my field. Anyway, good job on Beni Morph the transitions make the animations look real smooth.

you have the option to separate each glove and chest side to approach him to KoF '94 and Polnareff a bit more

What about KOF13? That stance seems pretty fitting of him.

CvS2's is alright, but the later KOF games have way more of his personality IMO.
