I recently stumbled across this game for the playstation due to curiosity about Capcom vs SNK 2 and I wondered what platform the 1st one was on...  I decided to dig even further and found the iso and now I have the game and it's pretty cool IMO!

Though not as WOOOWHO as the PS2 game it still looks pretty good and I found where a lot of stages and even music for the unknown mugen screenpack came from.

I was just curious if anyone else has ever played this game.

I played the dreamcast version, and it was my favorite fighting game until 2 came out   :P

If you happen to find the Dreamcast version would you be so kind to point me to where it is please?

Also what is a good Dreamcast Emu?

there are only two that I am aware of chankast and nulldc

the former is discontinued the latter is a beta and hasn't been updated in months.
Latest Yoshi alpha ready for feedback Aug 15th check here for details...

Well I found one called DEMUL.  I just got the bios and flash for it.  It's nothing like ePSXe so I'm having to relearn shit...  Oh well.

Oh and I found the eur-cvsp.rar and I'm going to give it a shot.

Oh no shit?  Damn I'm having all sorts of shit just trying to get anything to run right...

I managed to get CVS Pro to run at 7-10 fps on DEMUL and Chankast keeps bringing up the play audio cd menu like it's not a game...  Guess I'll give NullDC a shot.

(Also I'm running Windows 2000 with a P4 1.4ghz processor and 640mb of rdram...  That could also be my problem...)

yes me also liked this ps1 version of capcom vs snk pro but in all honestly once u tasted capcom vs snk 2 theres no going back :(

True... but my computer can't handle playing a dreamcast nor ps2 emu at the moment and I don't have a working ps2( laser fried :omg: )

I DO love CVS2 though...  Man you guys are probably going to laugh, but that's honestly the 1st game I ever really sat down and played when it comes to Street Fighter games...  I was all caught up in *cough*Mortal Kombat Trilogy*cough* when I was younger...  Hell I didn't even find out about Mugen till about a month and a half ago...

I thought I just always sucked at fighting games when I played CVS2 against the guy that showed me it...  come to find out...  he's just really f-ing good!  HAH!  So now here I am fulfilling my fighting game experience any way I can!

how do i get my computer/Epsxe2 to recognize that i have a controller connected!! because ive tried 2 controllers and got me nowhere!

Not sure if you meant to say this, but the first Capcom vs. SNK came out for the Dreamcast.

It was literally an impossible to complete game fairly with some plaqin ridiculous playing time required which would take years.


That CvS1 featured a few noticable things:

- More Juggling than Pro (maybe more than some parts of CvS2 as well)
- No Secret Shop Unlocks
- No Network mode (CvS Pro DC Impoted had a network mode)
- CPU vs. PLayer was actually quite balanced in terms of damage (besides ryu and yamazaki... 'speculation')
- No Joe Higashi or Dan Hibiki
- Some stupidly fucked up EX modes
- Yellow Lifebars (as opposed to green)
- An Options Menu Edit allowing you to auto-charge your power bar
- Some really graphically pleasing stages and character sprites (really defined)
- More moves for characters(and EX chars) that were taken out in CvS2
