Kung Fu Guy released

I had this char and two other as WIPs, then a crash happened, then I started them all over, and then I got lazy....well, I got over it and now now I'm done with the car. Anyone old enough (or downloads NES ROMs) should know that this is the guy from the NES game Kung Fu. He doesn't have too many sprites, but I did what I could. He can hold his own.

BTW, I know my pass chars have had some glitchy probs with them. Trust me when I say I beta tested the hell out of this char (no more floating in mid-air, missing animations, etc)

I broke my own cardinal rule and rushed this char for release without posting some pics of him. I'll post pics later on.

Click on the image to download him or click on the sig, depending on how lazy you are at moving the mouse around.

  • Never give up
^ I remember seeing someone release a Kung Fu guy at MI, but that person never updated the character.

Imagine a zanguief runing to attack ryu, ryu does a quick+kind of weak fast punch and hit the chest of zanguief, will this punch be enough to zanguief say/think \"oh no, this punch hurted a little, I better stop the attack and put my hand on my chest to help contain the pain while ignoring if ryu is going to make other attacks now"

So? Maybe it sucked compared to this..or maybe this one has diffrent attacks. ::)
It was accurate to the game.

*Alright, first off, the Y button... really shouldn't have an auto-advancing attack. If you corner the opponent you can just mash the button to hell and back and have your life intact.
*I also feel he's a little too fast for the normal walk.
*D-DF-F-D-DF-F+X cancels onto itself.
*D-DF-F+A has the same problem as the Y button.

That's what I spotted, I'll leave the rest to the professionals.

I know....but Kung Fu Guy sounds better (change his name if you don't like it).

Noted  :)

Char updated with another striker, an animation that I found out was missing, and better palettes.

The strikers have different palettes as well.

BTW, this wasn't meant to be an exact copy of KFG from the game. If he was he wouldn't stand a chance in the MUGEN world.

No, comment your feedback on the creation!
Your opinion with arguments as the base of the post.

"I liked the creation because it's oldschool, fast/slow/comboable/XX Groove gameplay"

Stuff. Post Stuff, not just "hey nice Car"

The name "Kung Fu Guy" doesn't sound good.  Just stick with Keiji Thomas.

Kung Fu for the NES is known in the arcades as "Kung Fu Master", while both versions are known in Japan as "Spartan X", which was based on the Jackie Chan film, "Wheels of Meals".

Kung Fu Master was published by Data East and developed by Irem.
My Mugen Wish List would include protagonists, mascots and other iconic characters with everything they have brought straight from their source with little or no editing.
