I know what was the problem, the url must not be https, only http are supported.I recomend to the site administrator to use Let's Encrypt in your site for a SSL Certification, Let's Encrypt give you free SSL.Regards.
I use imgur and had the same problem. As mentioned all you have to do is use a link with http instead of https. For example if I want to use https://i.imgur.com/8hcCvlO.png as my avatar I would have to change the link to: http://i.imgur.com/8hcCvlO.png and it will work. So: Forum Profile > Specify avatar by URL > http://i.imgur.com/8hcCvlO.png > Change ProfileIs this what you are doing but are still being unable to display your avatar?
Exactly. This is my avatar https://i.imgur.com/rTqArcO.png , If I put it like this, I get the silhouette with the question mark. And if I delete the "s", I have the error or missing image that is currently seen.
try tinypic.com.also, try resizing the avatar, had the same problem until i resized smaller (could have been a blonde moment on my part though)
exactly. your avatar is 160*160 pixels and the limit is 150*200 pixels.simply try to change the size of crop the extra 10 pixels of width out and upload it again to imgur and it should work.
Size Matters. That is the key. Guys, thanks for the suggestions. Now it's working right.I would swear that, in the past, I use this avatar in this forum, but most probably I'm wrong. I know... I must to read the rules...My fault. Sorry for the problems. Thanks again and nice week.
there was a trick where you can type the avatar0s url when it follow the size limits, then change the actual uploaded file to something bigger and it will bypass the forum's size check. I used that in the apst to get pixel perfet avatars without cropping, the trick to not get it snipped by an admin was to eb moderate and only exceed the sizes bya small amount so it did not really bother anybody.
