Can anyone tell me what settings to make in order to sprite?
I do not even get a stroke in Photoshop.

I would like to change from MSPaint to Photoshop.

Most important probably are:
Preferences->Tools->Snap Vector Tools and Transforms to pixel grid
Preferences->Guides, grids and slices->Grid->Custom
Gridline every 8 pixels, Subdivisions 4
Preferences->General->Image Interpolation->Nearest Neighbour
And turning anti-alias off for Selection and Shape tools.
Also it's useful to set up Preferences->Performance->History states to some hundreds so you won't lose some important changes to revert.
At least that's mine setup.
