Mortal Kombat Mugen (MK 1 Remake) (First version released)

in january i'll release the first version of my mk remake game.

the game will have (don't expect it all in the first version):

- credits: if you don't insert coins you can't play :P
- scores: same as the arcade, every hit increase your score, after match the time and strengh increase score too, exactly like the arcade.
- fight against reptile, also as arcade.
- battle plan: real battle plan not only question marks like mk bs
- endurance matches. and after the 3rd endurance match goro fall from top of the stage and start the fight against him.
- test your might
- full shang tsung
- real continue screen, game over...
- if you get idle it shows bios, goro lives, and all the arcade stuff, and some demo fights.
- maybe in future i implement real input high scores, not sure at all, i have too many ideas for future games.
- more secrets: i don't want to put ermac in the game. just in case someone think about him.
- i forgot something i'm sure :P

Hmmm, a lot of interesting features.
If there where no extra details, people couldnt say it is a Mugen version, looks just like the original arcade game.
You may wanna add Kung Lao to the roster, since he was in MK Shaoling Monks fight againts Shang Tsung in the firts tournament.

Are you doing this by your own? I mean, no MKP Team involved?

i'm alone in this game, yes.
and about kung lao, some time ago i think to put him in, in goro's "story mode". you know.. unlock "play as goro" and he has other battle plan and fight against kung lao. that was just an idea, not confirmed yet.

i used a variable and with every movehit increase the value, also counts time bonus and health bonus. to show it i read the variable and use explods. that's all.

Seems pretty good so far! What other new stuff that wasn't in the original MK do you plan to add?

i'll add more secret things, and if i can do it like the original arcade i'll be happy. it's going very well.
people think that battle plan is impossible, it don't. and more stuff like that.
i want to broke some "limits". i know that mugen is limited in some aspects but imagination is more limited sometimes..

in my next project (a new mk game) i'll add some interactive functions like if you play it at night, in the game will be at night.. i don't know.. some events in specifics hours or dates, etc. a mix between a rpg and mk.
but this is far away. i want to complete the mk remake first.

yes, i've only see a vid of it and looks awesome!
i also have a mk rpg in mind in mugen (a mix between mario rpg and final fantasy tactics. simple but good). but again.. it's far away.

1. Are you gonna give second fatalities to the characters? I liked Sub-Zero's Ice Shater fatality from the SNES version and I thought it would be cool to add gory versions of the censored fatalites.

2.  Is Reptile gona be playable? If yes, will he have his moves from the future games?

3.  Is Goro gona be playable like he was in the Game Boy version of MK1?

my two cents of this project:

This is geting good. interloko would add Kung Lao to the game, that is if he took the events of Shaolin Monks as canon, which is an unlikely no.

Hell, if he'd did, he may add Baraka as well since he and some of hsi kind were about tos torm into the throne ready to strike.

i'm not sure about second fatalities and extra stuff. i don't want to extend it. it's a remake with a few extras.
reptile will have the moves of mk1 like all the other characters.
and about the non selectable characters as playables: maybe  ::)

Liftset : thanx for the comment.
mugen have some crazy stuff, like be unable to set variables in certain states, or worst... i get a headache doing the "little steps" like mk1 (previous of start walking)

it won't have 300 chars. few there are a few but are well done :P
my task on this project is make it as closer to the arcade version as possible.
