Sorry if I have the wrong board, but I'm trying to replicate the Motion/Light Rays seen in the Usual PotS portrait.
Akuma Port found in Deathscythe's Char:

My Sieger Port:

My current strategy is putting the original Transparent image, then duplicating it into a new layer below the original and using Zoom Motion Blur on it
before doing the Color bit, maybe including some other filters like Sharpening, Contrast or more Blur. Though doing all this usually leads to strong blurs that don't fade out the way I hope or look unusual.
I just can't find the right effects/filters to use, so I need some instructions.

Well I basically use the same technique (Excluding the color parts), but the effects just aren't the same.
Here's another example of what I want:

Unfortunately, I don’t use gimp. To me the filter that yours is missing is photoshop’s radial blur>zoom. That’s the filter that gives the images those streaky action lines.

Scratch that I'm doing the Zoom Blur with low opacity technique and it works.
