##### Defencemulset... reliable or broken?

Well, I heard that the Sctrl "defencemulset" was broken long time ago, but I recently found this post by Shinra

Discovery of DefenceMulSet: How to Really Use it....

DefenceMulSet Sctrl works but:

[State -3,]
type = DefenceMulSet
trigger1 = 1
time = -1
ignorehitpause = 1
persistent = 1
supermovetime = -1
pausemovetime = -1
value = 0.1  ;the value system for this is reversed from attackmulset. A whole number means defense taken away while a below zero decimal number means how much defense is added.
;value = 1.1 ---so if this was an attackmulset then this would mean an addition of 10 points to your attack. But since this is a defensemulset, then this means a subtraction of 10 to your defense. 0_o
;value = 0.1 ---so if this was an attackmulset then this would mean a subtraction of 10 points to your attack. But since this is a defensemulset, then this means an addition of 10 to your defense. o_0

So in a value (value = x.y), the creators of mugen just switched the property of x around {mix up} where '0.1' means positive and '1.1' means negative...

*The thing is, it doesnt apply to single attacks. It only applies itself to chained attacks (comboes). Also...even if the attacks are chained, if there is a pause in between the hits (like ryu's 3 piece hyper move) then it wont apply. Its starts up AFTER the 1st chained attack.
-Adding Movehit >= 1 as a trigger WILL NOT affect its rules....

Sooooooo.....this would mean +1 defense points added:

[State -3,]
type = DefenceMulSet
trigger1 = 1
time = -1
ignorehitpause = 1
persistent = 1
supermovetime = -1
pausemovetime = -1
value = 0.99

this would mean +100 defense points added:

[State -3,]
type = DefenceMulSet
trigger1 = 1
time = -1
ignorehitpause = 1
persistent = 1
supermovetime = -1
pausemovetime = -1
value = 0.01

IF 0.00 became 1.00, the following will mean:

[State -3,]
type = DefenceMulSet
trigger1 = 1
time = -1
ignorehitpause = 1
persistent = 1
supermovetime = -1
pausemovetime = -1
value = 1.01; -1 defense added

[State -3,]
type = DefenceMulSet
trigger1 = 1
time = -1
ignorehitpause = 1
persistent = 1
supermovetime = -1
pausemovetime = -1
value = 1.1;-10 defense added

[State -3,]
type = DefenceMulSet
trigger1 = 1
time = -1
ignorehitpause = 1
persistent = 1
supermovetime = -1
pausemovetime = -1
value = 2; -200 defense added

[State -3,]
type = DefenceMulSet
trigger1 = 1
time = -1
ignorehitpause = 1
persistent = 1
supermovetime = -1
pausemovetime = -1
value = 1; no defense added or subtracted

Is this info really that reliable? does this works?

move this thread to any place if it's in the wrong section...

cool, already moved ^^

It's more like the value you give it multiplies the damage received, not the defense, so increasing DefenceMulSet actually makes you receive more damage.
Also I don't see any difference between using integers and floats, maybe that was a bug in an older Mugen version. Instead, in WinMugen it has a brand new bug that makes it only work in combos.
Use anything you want from my works.  If you need to contact me use email, not private messages.

me thinks I should look at how warusaki3 coded this on his chars, he uses only vars to trigger the defencemulsets (vars that read if you are or not on ex mode and if the AI is turned on or not)

so only on combos huh? I'll check that aswell on waru chars, but they seems to take more damage when they should even on the first hit...

Isn't shinra358 the idiot who said Morrigan didn't have chain combo by default in CvS2?

Maybe its just me but, have someone else got some attack unblockable by using defencemulset? I removed it and the attack could be blocked when I didnt have defencemulset.
My shitty mugen stuff:
