Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Revised
v0.2 update
VIDEO
v0.2 combo/character trailer
I've been silent about this project for a while due to college, but I'm finally back with an update. I've made a number of modifications, but the biggest one is the addition of a new character. It'll be spoiled in the changelog so watch the new trailer first if you want it revealed the way I intended. Changelog:Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
Changes are pretty vague this time around since the graphic upscaling involved a number of small tweaks, but in general
Green Ranger exists Pink Ranger and Black Ranger's supers can now be performed in the air (this allows Pink to combo off of 236A/B and Black to combo off of 236Z) Hitstun on White Ranger's 5Z has been reduced (he could originally combo 5Z into other normals; this now requires Quick White Light Mode) White Ranger can now cancel any move with White Light Mode activation White Ranger's White Light Mode activation now costs meter (1/7 of a bar) White Ranger's 2Z can only be cancelled into 236Y (can no longer be cancelled into 236X or 236Z) Air hit hitstun for many moves increased to prevent combos from improperly dropping; there are likely still more to fix and will be addressed as I become aware of them Old OP: Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
So I don't have a fancy title or anything, but I've been working on this game for the past couple months or so, and I felt like it was time to finally release the current build. The game overall is based off of the Sega Game Gear games "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" and "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie". I played these games a lot when I was younger, and wanted to make a complete, improved version of the two games. As such, all the graphics and sounds are taken directly from the original games, as are most moves, with some additional changes and improvements I've made myself. It may not be the best game in the world right now, but please keep in mind I've been working on this alone as my first MUGEN project ever. As of this first version, there are six complete characters - Red Ranger, Blue Ranger, Black Ranger, Yellow Ranger, Pink Ranger, and White Ranger. All of them lack more advanced AI since I have no experience with MUGEN AI, but the characters themselves should be 100% functional.
These characters are not intended to be used with other characters or MUGEN builds outside of this project, and are not guaranteed to work with anything not included in MMPRR itself. AI isn't finished yet. Don't expect it to really challenge you. General Buttons/Mechanics:Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
X = Light Punch Y = Strong Punch Z = Heavy Attack A = Light Kick B = Strong Kick C = Super 2X/2Y = Crouching Punch 2A/2B = Crouching Kick 66X/66Y = Dash Punch 66A/66B = Dash Kick 66Z = Dash Heavy X+A = Throw Z + C = Critical Evade (costs 1.5 bars) In general, X cancels into Y, which cancels into A, which cancels into B, which cancels into Z, which cancels into specials, which cancel into super. Any step in this chain can be skipped, but in general combos should be performed in this order. Crouching or Dash Punches or Kicks take the place of both X/Y or A/B in a combo series. Black Ranger has a different combo structure, in the order X > A > Y > B > 2Z > Z > Z > 2Z, which still follows the ability to skip steps in the chain. This series of heavy attacks is referred to as "Beatdown" in the move list.

Some moves will apply the "Burning" state to an opponent. While Burning, players will slowly take damage and will take extra damage on every hit they take. Every character has access to Critical Evade (performed by pressing Z+C), which costs 1.5 bars. This move acts as a combo breaker that immediately throws out an invincible attack to blow back the opponent. However, this attack is not guaranteed to hit and will immediately reduce your meter to 0 if blocked. I am the only one working on this game right now, but I would like to find:Someone experienced with MUGEN AI to work with me on building AI for each character A sprite artist who can approximate the style of the original sprites to add some missing/new characters If you fit either of these categories, please comment or message me so we can discuss in more detail. If you download and play this, please leave a comment with your impressions! I would really appreciate as much feedback as I can get. It's hard to find a balance between staying true to the source material and making a better game, so be assured that all comments will be carefully considered. Also report bugs, obviously, so I can fix them. Additionally, any suggestions for improving this post (and download file, I'm not sure what all is usually included) would be helpful, since I'm not sure how to structure this post to be most useful and informative. Thank you for your time, and I hope you'll give this game a try! I hope you'll enjoy it.Download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X3QlQksFIHj4AA9oyyibboCTFwt1KFmA/view?usp=sharing ~Tya
