This looks beyond awful, like one of those Cartoon Network flash games.lol at how bad taste some of this is
This is gonna have a cult following....great idea tho. this will be the new "Angry Birds", they already have a HUGE demographic on lock!
This is being touted as the world's first gay video game.Seriously? Are we not giving CHO ANIKI the props it deserves?

This is really why I can't take Western gay media seriously. It's rare to find something that's not self-objectifying parody full of nothing but gay sex puns. Fortunately it's easy to find the people who make stuff in good taste.
Pusha 2 said, November 23, 2013, 09:35:58 amThis is being touted as the world's first gay video game.Seriously? Are we not giving CHO ANIKI the props it deserves? Except Cho Aniki is not gay per se.
Who cares about Cho Aniki? It's just a parody of Japanese gay stereotypes. There have been countless gay-centered games since forever. They just don't get commercial attention.
i think the reason it gets mentioned a lot is because, wellit's definitely the most creativealsothis dude is badassi can't resist comparing all of this to 'LOL GAY BLACK THUG LOL' i guess

Cho Aniki is parodying gay people not actually about gay people.I am the last person to NOT care about Cho Aniki by the way.

This shit looks horrible and flagrantly offensive. Capt. Segway said, November 23, 2013, 12:24:58 pmThis is really why I can't take Western gay media seriously. How about you don't use that word.
I must confess i always dreamed about a fighting game that would represent different cultural groups with each char (metal heads, preppy boys, Gothics, rappers etc) But they all would be equally funny but not insulting, but this game takes it to the limit, i think is to much.
It's funny in hindsight I think. If SF2 had come out today I think it would have had a similar reaction because of the cartoonish stereotypes, but at least that game represented everyone equally offensively. This honestly feels like Newgrounds flash game from like 2003 where everyone's perception of gay people came from Mad TV sketches and episodes of South Park.
you can have stereotypes without being offensive, its about maturity, you can have a hip hop stereotype character without having him doing racist shit , the same way you can have a gay character without them being all about sex or "dumb shit that gays do".
Pusha 2 said, November 23, 2013, 09:35:58 amThis is being touted as the world's first gay video game.Seriously? Are we not giving CHO ANIKI the props it deserves? It's not truly gay until Billy Herrington is in it.Seriously, though, what the fuck. I'm going to get endless angry posts on Tumblr from gays who think it's funny versus gays who think it raped their mothers and ate their soul, and then shitposting from RPS and Kotaku about how it ate their souls.I'm kind of reminded of the one racist flash game where you sniped Mexicans coming across the border.I have the same reaction to it as I did with Asian Gurlz/Girlz/whatever the fuck: it's funny in how absolutely, stupidly bad it is, even if it's meant to be stupid satire.
@Iced I actually find that to be a really interesting topic of discussion regarding representation of people in fighting games. I mean everyone talks about feminism and depiction of women, but what about ethnic and sexual orientation groups? I remember hearing that Mexican people really didn't like T. Hawk because he represents Mexico despite being a Native American, and apparently Poison is really polarizing with trans people because some people find her "dirty" tramp gimmick kind of offensive and some love her. It's a discussion worth having, I think.
ramon is a luchador, that's as stereotipical for a mexican fighter as it can get without being a light weight boxer or some cholo. angel weras the kind of outfit that a lot of mexican singers wore back then so she was mexican enough.
Okay, offensive: yes. The only reason I laughed is because this was a bit shocking and terrible, but I'd give it a shot because of its obscurity. regardless of its choppy animation and stereotypes, it might be fun.Take it with a grain of salt.

Seriously guys is all the wanton homophobia really necessary? Yes the game is stupid and probably plays like shit but c'mon people you're better than this.
Lithium Flower said, November 24, 2013, 04:53:11 amI don't care for the gay thing but this game looks like shitAgreed. Taking apart those exaggerated stereotypes, the character designs and the sprite style looks like they were made for a shitty flash game for Newgrounds or something. Seriously, this game makes God Fight like an exclusive PSN/Xbox Live game

They may be the stereotypical, non-threatening gays, but even then they're not actively repugnant. And they're helping change public perception, so that's good!-Red- said, November 25, 2013, 05:53:38 pmThis game looks so ga*shot*>.>
