Wow, Hitmonchan looks dope!I remember seeing it earlier, so I'm glad it's still in production. We do not have that many good Pokémon characters, so this will be a blast.Just a question. Are you still working on Chuck Greene?
The Street Fighter said, October 21, 2017, 02:51:14 pmWe do not have that many good Pokémon characters, so this will be a blast.I have to agree with you on that. In the world of MUGEN, I think Pokemon gets a bad rap. The potential of Pokemon being full-fledged fighters was already laid out there when the anime was in syndication. It was further helped by the fact I was watching Pokemon at my tia's house/paleteria in Mexico right next to an arcade spot where Marvel vs. Capcom and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter was displayed, which became the genesis for my Marvel & Capcom vs. Pokemon fan game. But there was this stigma that Pokemon was just for kids, an RPG that could never hang with the big boys. Then Super Smash Bros. came along and changed some of that attitude, but the child stigma still exists. I can't confirm whether this stubbornness was the cause for the subpar quality Pokemon sprites that exist in the MUGEN library archives, but lately, I've noticed some urgency for improvement of the Pokemon models. There's a Mewtwo and Zangoose both designed by the 100 Mega Shock, and they were impressive.Gladiacloud has done fantastic sprite sheets for Charizard and Pikachu and Jigglypuff, and I could have sworn he did some other Pokemon. The fan game Pokemon: Type Wild by Soara is also well created, with great designs for Lucario and Gardevoir, for example.Zox and Hatter have done some Pikachu sprites for me, and Coop completed a Scyther sprite test not too long ago. Finally, Balm is doing some Pikachu revisions with the possibility of new sprites. So there is great potential for Pokemon to be well represented in MUGEN. You just have to find the right artist, and most importantly, never give up.

Ah, my bad. I knew Gladiacloud was helped by someone for one of the Pokemon, but I totally forgot his name at the time. Thanks for the much needed correction, Garchomp.
