You should do something about the shading under the eye. It feels swollen, as if he hurt his eyes. Also, the irises of his eyes seem to be way too thick.

Also since it looks like A17 doesn't have eyebrows or they are rather very slim, I suggest reducing the size of them.

EDIT: Made his eyebrows thinner, made his eyes thinner and made his nose look more accurate

Feel like i could do more with the pants but im not sure what

EDIT: im thinking about not having the ripped part of the jeans as it may be difficult to do when animating

Now that is good, you need to add a few more frames (2) to make it smoother, add in details, and fix up some stuff (the crotch, like how Gen pointed it out), and your as good as solid gold.

good start. now work on fixing the anatomy of his arms and hands and the shading

His head seems to shimy around a bit and some of the frames his left foot (artist's right) gets cut off. And the hands and arms have been addressed, but you should look at Z2 sprites a little more closely. And yes, the crotch looks a bit awkward and needs better shading on his thighs.

Other than the aesthetics, he looks very very promising
