- Jeanne is really good in this stage of the game. While she gets power-creeped later on by other servants, she a consistently good defensive servant. She later gets a strengthening quest that removes the self-stun from her NP and replaces it with a debuff removal for the entire team, so that's nice. Her biggest down-side is that her skill-set is overly specific against servants (her stun and True Name Discernment only work against servants.) Also, True Name Discernment sucks, but the stun is always nice and Revelation is a decent skill. Her NP being an on-demand invuln is her biggest asset.
- Siegfried/Sumanai - He's... bad. His kit is specialized for fighting dragons, but the existence of the entire Assassin class along with most Dragons being Riders means that he's outclassed at his job unless there's a rare Lancer or Berserker dragon, or if he's fighting Elizabeth Bathory, for example. While he's bulky, he doesn't really have a way to use that bulk to help the rest of the team, and his entire kit is selfish and dragon-centered. Even his strengthening quest only further buffs his fairly weak damage. On the plus side, when you find the blue-moon situation where he is useful, he does excel.
- D'eon. She's unique in that she's one of the few actual Tanks in the game (IE, can draw enemy attention to herself), which gives her a nice role, if a weak one at this stage of the game. Her skills are pretty decent, and she hits harder than Siggy. Her Noble Phantasm kinda sucks, since it's just a 10-30% (depending on NP level) reduction to enemy attack and defense, along with a non-guaranteed charm. Her strengthening quest much later on buffs her NP so that the stat drops are 3 turns instead of 2, and makes her charm more likely to proc, but not guaranteed.
.
- Kiyohime. She's fairly decent, if outclassed by Hercules in raw damage. Her fairly low attack is offset by the Berserker-class 1.1x class modifier, EX Mad Enhancement (12% Buster buff woo), and her Stalking skill which reduces enemy defense (though also increases their attack). She has a defense-buff herself, giving her some additional survivability, and with a strengthening quest gets a skill which both removes all debuffs and further powers up her Buster cards. Also her Level 10 Bond CE makes her NP even stronger.
- Saber Gilles. He's complete ass because nothing in his kit synergizes in the slightest. He has EX Mad Enhancement but can't Buster Brave chain. He has Military Tactics but has a non-damaging NP. His Golden Rule only leads to Saint War Order, which gives an Attack buff coupled with a 50% defense drop. He gets a strengthening quest later on that grants him a 5-turn Buster buff which, at level 10, has a 5 turn cooldown, but there are so many servants that can do better than Saber Gilles with much less investment.
