X-Skill: Like CvTW's Unique Tactic or SFV's V-Skill, X-Skills are unique abilities that fighters can use that complement their playstyle. Some are defensive, some provide manouverability, others are offensive.
- Kyo would have his projectile from his pre-'98 versions.
- Ryu would have SF4's Focus Attack, with about the same properties.
X-Cancel: Basically KoF XIII's Drive Cancels. Outside of the full game, X-Cancel would cost a bar of meter.
- Andy, if he was in the game, could X-Cancel Zaneiken into Koryuudan, for example.
- Jin would need the most looking at in terms of balancing X-Cancels, due to the way his command strings work.
X-Mode: X-Mode is basically MAX Mode/Hyper Mode from any KoF Game you care to name, where you can infintely cancel moves and supers that can be cancelled until time runs out. However, different characters also get different properties from using X-Mode. This probably won't be implemented outside of the full game.
- Ash's X-Mode could be San-Culottes, which in turn would give him access to Germinal. This would cost a lot of meter, however, making Germinal essentially a Level 2 Super.
- In X-Mode, Orchid could potentially regain her Killer Instinct style of combo-ing, complete with Auto-Doubles and Linkers. This, however, would come at the expense of not being able to do X-Cancels, and being much easier to break than in her source game. Addionally, she could only perform her Desperation Move, Ultra Combo, within X-Mode.
