Mugen is the Best!

I will be spriting this saiyan Z2 style. Hyper Dragon Ball Z is awesome and I wanted to make my own character for it. I am editing him over Super Saiyan Goku Z2. When I done I will need help coding him because I do not want him to fight like Goku. His Sprite animations will be original.

Here is a rough stance animation.

Shit

That is a pretty nice and fluid walking animation. Only thing that seems to be off is the hair animation. I see that there are some hair lines on the back of his head that suddenly get a lot of brightening in a few frames, kind of making the movement look funky.

i like it!

hopefully this can also make ya more comfortable with the idea of spriting an offical db character for hdbz, starting with an oc you know and love is a great way to get used to it.

Personally making a realistic black character is pretty hard palette wise.
the shades are difficult.

also I love the dreds turning into silver floating hair things. But it's perfect because it's not spikey.

After years about forgetting MUGEN, I am back!!

Great char indeed... That is just awesome to see him that I would like to call Mr. Toriyama to add him to Dragon Ball Super to defeat that guy named "Goku Black".

He should be friends with Oob, right? Awesome bro. How are you planning to make the Ki blast, red?

I have a suggestion: While Vegeta, Goku, Trunks and Gohan use both hands to canalize energy, this char could be able to drop a Kame Hame Ha like or more powerful using just one hand. What do you think?

"Look, I am more powerful than Goku/Vegeta/Whatever cause I throw kamehameha with one hand!" just sounds kind of uncreative. I'd rather give him something more unique.

Also... how did you reach the conclusion that he's friends with Oob/Uub? He wasn't even mentioned at all.

He will have unique abilities. But his one handed blast is more powerful than goku's kamehameha. (In a sprite animation series I want to make in the future.) I like Uub but I planned out a story for him already. But If someone made a decent Uub spritesheet they could be friends.

Hey, I suggest one attack. In Super Sentai, Shuriken Sentai Ninninger to be more specific, there is a Fox like enemy (then ally) named Izayoi Kyuuemon. He/She has a special attack where some beams surround the enemy and then blast it (I know I have seen it somewhere).

Go to Kiss Asian dot com and search for Ninninger, or any other Sentai season. Amazing.

BTWm I am glad Afroamerican superheroes are filling both video games and movies. I remember the first hero, named Meteor Man, then there was Blade and some others. There is also an Afroamerican Superman-like, Icon, who made his debut on Project Justice.

Watching Java is really amazing... I would like to see him in any Akira Toriyama series fighting alongside Goku.

Sorry but I want my character to have unique attacks. I did check out the link you gave me but I could not bother to fine out what episode that attack was in. I watched a clip on youtube instead. The attack looks cool.

But the landing backwards sprite kind of looks awkward (to me at least) *0:29 in the video*
Other than that he is awesome!
I will use him as guest in Hyper DBZ for sure

This is some amazing progress your showing so far, and i love all of it. Though my only issue right now is that he seems way to similar to SSJ Goku in terms of supers.

Well it's an edit, so SSJ Goku is still visable in the coding of how most moves work, but as a training this is fantastic work and the sprites look very good and nicely animated! Congrats on reaching this level. Indeed the next steps would be to move even further away from SSJ Goku's coded moves so Java ends up looking and feeling even fresher!

You have came so far in development and look at you now! The trailer looks so damn hype, and it showcases a lot too. Like Balthazar said, he seems so much like SSJ Goku but I believe in due time once you get more things down, he'll be more original. Java will be so fresh, that not even the green produce markets can compare to him! Keep it up!

Thanks man! I will need help with coding when I finish all of his sprites. Java is supposed to be very different from ssj goku but I can't make my own codes.

Like Balthazar said, he seems so much like SSJ Goku but I believe in due time once you get more things down, he'll be more original. Java will be so fresh, that not even the green produce markets can compare to him! Keep it up!

When you think the visual is done,you can take some time to think his style.
If a coder (or you) can help with that it'll be great.
Also,judging by the trailer,his Emotion System (Z2 Mode) could be Compassion
Having his family attack or defend out of worry or something.
But that is all up to you,keep up the good work
