May 9th 2011 their was a modern warfare 3 announcement. Also their was leaked photos of some stuff of the game also the name of the maps and some stuff of spec ops mode.
They say it will be release Nov 8th 2011.

Ah, hell. I wanted to post this thread when I saw info on Kotaku yesterday...

Oh well, I forgot.

Beat out Battlefield 3? Probably, at least in sales. Gears 3? Probably. I, for one, am hyped. I want to see where the story goes, and the new locations.

I trust in Raven to do some good, obviously despite the throwing the name on there this is a sledgehammer game and not truly Infinity Wards, maybe if this does well they'll stop using it to sell the game. They have to know they really gotta bring it this year with Battlefield 3 on the way.

nah, but if Epic can fix the spawning issues and some how balance the sawwed off without removing it entirely they have a chance.

I'm going to make a prediction and say the maps will suck. Multiplayer, the main draw of most FPS', will probably be the same shit from MW2.

You should have known the date from the start. IIRC, the last few CODs came out on Nov. 8.

Hopefully this time around they actually throw in some specops maps along with the regular MP stuff unlike MW2, shit really pissed me off because I enjoyed the hell outta Specops.

Im actually looking forward to it.

No other shooter has drawn me into a campaign like MW2 did. Right when the Emergency Broadcast scene kicked in I actually felt we were being invaded. The feeling I got was surreal to put it simple.

It wasn't bad, but I was expecting something more realistic. At least it wasn't as terrible as the previous game. Seriously, last two levels were way too unrealistic for me to imagine it happening, and even if that "knife on the face" scene was cool, it was also stupid and unnecessary for me.

I'm still wondering what this 3rd game is going to be about. I hope they don't turn it into zombie invasion. Seems they really liked that idea from the previous games.

Guess they read my post about matchmaking hurf durf.

On a serious note related to the franchise of Call of Duty, do not get on COD4 or WaW. It is a living hell there and I don't think mods can ban them fast enough on the 360. Don't know about the PS3 side of things. Shame too because those were still some of my favorites to play online.  :(
