Stage based on Club Illusions, a club ran by Duck King and King(aof). Its an original concept with animtions, bgm(my mix and a suggested song by ZombieBrock), parallax floor and ceiling and mild superjump.



I've got to thank Spriters Resource, Ryo2005 and SxVector for their respective sprites. Also I would like to thank MarkPachi for really helping me put this stage togther and beta testing. Also my boys Alpyne_D and ZombieBrock for giving me some great input.



The track is Duck King's song mixed by me. I may make another track this stage. Well...enjoy!

Uh, why are the dancers silhouettes? It seems kinda... I don't know how to put this: lazy? The default song isn't my cup of tea, honestly. It's a bit too distorted for my liking. I'd definitely recommend something more jazzy for a different song. Maybe a remix of the Women's Team theme from KOF 11 or KOF 13? Those would fit well into a club stage. It makes you feel as though you're fighting with style and class. It'd give the stage a "gentlemanly" feel of sorts. I would quote Dudley, but that'd be kinda forced. It also lagged a bit for me at the start, barely any of my other stages lag. I'm counting EXShadow's stuff here, as well. Also, what's with the second song you included?
Edit: I tried the stage out again, no lag this time. I really should let the loading screen run its course --;

Thanks for the feedback, CAN. I wanted the fighters to stand out, and imo, the silhouettes work well with the lighting. I agree that the bgm needs work, and i do plan to do that. Gentlemanly feel, huh? I think I may remix Duck's original theme, then Kings theme for a more "classy" style bgm. I noticed the lag, but I thought it was my screenpack. Maybe not...

...oh and the 2nd bgm was suggested by a good friend. I think he made a good choice. Thanks again...

Yeah, I can see what you're going for. I honestly think that you should look at EXShadow's "In Da Club" stage for what I think is a great way to put focus on the fighters. I really think that the song you should use for the classy feel is the Woman Fighters' theme from KOF 11 or KOF 13. I might be beating a dead horse, seeing as I already recommended those, but I think it can't hurt to remind ya. Good luck getting better BGM.

Now that I think about it, maybe you could focus the lighting on where the fighters are and make the silhouettes all the same color (black, perhaps)? I don't like how they clash like that. Have you figured out the BGMs you might use?

Haven't downloaded the stage yet but some reason I will put a capoeira or Brazilian song at background as soon as I download my copy of it and yes I do like the concept  :yippi:

Thanks, mpower! I created the .sff in Fighter Factory 1, but the .def was from the KFM stage that comes with 1.0. There may be some things in it that don't jive with Winmugen Plus. I'm in the process of updating, so I'll try to correct this....

 Thanks, CAN! I'm in the middle of adding transparency, but my computer battery went dead. When I get home, I'll finish that. Also I cut a new bgm using the KOF 13 track you suggested. I didn't like this, so I'm going to tone it down a little, and make it more basic. EXSHADOW suggested that increase deltas on the foreground dancers, so I did. I'm going to kut a track for Duck King(the other is for King)  and finish everything else.

other possible updates would be changing the color of the silhouettes and adding "solid" dancers to the foreground, but I'm still undecided on those two.

Alright, I preferred the KOF 13 track over the other. I'm looking forward to hearing your cut, I enjoy some of the other tracks on your stages. If they're any indication, this update'll definitely be worth the wait. That's all I really have to say on this until the update. Expect feedback some time after you update.

I suggest downloading the stage. It has a strobelight effect that you can't really see in the screenshoot. It makes the silhouettes look nice in my opinion. It was in the original but some may have based there feedback on screenshots alone...

The first thing I noticed is that you haven't gotten around to the new BGM yet. That's quite all right, I replaced it with something else. Also, unless your Mediafire hasn't gotten the file yet, the stage looks nothing like your screenshot. I don't see a bar or anything. Let me know when the download works.

Wow, big file size increase between updates. Is that because of the extra songs? Speaking of songs, King's Theme stutters in quite a few places. The stage itself is a massive improvement. It seems more like a club and less like a warehouse with dancers and stools. Its style certainly improved with the additions. It feels more like a scene from a movie. The strobe lighting is a nice touch, and the foreground don't get in the way as much with their newly added transparency. This version's a keeper, Vegaz. Thanks for the update!

Hah, I try to be at least a little bit harsh. It helps motivate, as you just witnessed. Still, any word on the stutters in King's song? I wound up using my own MP3 for that.

Good improvement on the stage.  I find that some of the songs from the game "Jet Set Radio" work well with this stage, for example, "Get on the dance floor" fits it well.  But since the "dancers" seem to be doing capoeira, I am going to do as someone suggested and try and go with a Brazilian song.

Nice stage Vegaz! EVERYONE IS A NOBODY except the people fighting! :)

I'd like to mention just two observations (not necessarily complaints).
-It seems like there are very few people at this club. Why not more?
-The dominant colors are dark red and the brown of the silhouettes. Reds and browns are "earth tones" or "warm colors" right? When I think "club" I don't really think "earthy/warm". Was this your color choice, or was the stage naturally colored this way?
-Have you considered a strobe light effect where at random points the bg characters become visible, with details, as the light passes over them?

I like your concepts for stage designs. Keep up the great work!

Good improvement on the stage.  I find that some of the songs from the game "Jet Set Radio" work well with this stage, for example, "Get on the dance floor" fits it well.  But since the "dancers" seem to be doing capoeira, I am going to do as someone suggested and try and go with a Brazilian song.

A-Bust! What's good, homie!? I originally had about 40 dancers, bit my stage would lag. So I trimmed it down. The color came from the original sprites that I chopped up to create this. And that's a cool idea with strobe light...

Yeah, about that. I don't know anything about mixing music. It already has a good DJ feel to it, so I don't think it needs much more mixing. It's already got record scratches and everything. It mixed itself! Also, that's definitely going to be my BGM for this stage, it feels like there's a DJ there scratching live and everything. The people are Capoeira-ing (or something), so it fits just about perfectly!

Here's an idea. Take the dancers and make a capoeira based stage instead. Fixing something is nice but sometimes taking a good concept and using it for something new works out better.

Adding  a DJ was in the original plan, but I dropped before the initial release...

True. That's why I may release a redesigned version. My original designs places the fighters closer to the back wall. Using that concept, I can place Duck in the back at normal scale.

but you can make it even better....Using Illusions BGM you can start off instead with a disco music like the one from RE ORC and then continue with Illusions... And if you don't know which one ....I mean the start of the USS character selection bgm....it is very modern disco
