Hello everybody.
I open this to know how many people or what countries have more people involved in Mugen(editing, creating, did or do any mugen's stuff). The country which you ARE , not the country you are living in, Example: you are chilean but you live in Brazil, so you are a Chilean Mugen creator-contributor.
Understand?
Then, in this same can be a country-database.

Sorry my english can be wrong.

Wikipedia said:
The demonym for citizens of the United States of America suffers a similar problem albeit non-politically, because "American" may ambiguously refer to both the nation, the USA, and the conjoined continent pair, North and South America. United Statian is awkward in English, but it exists in Spanish (estadounidense), French (étatsunien(ne)), Portuguese (estado-unidense or estadunidense), Italian (statunitense), and also in Interlingua (statounitese). US American (for the noun) and US-American (when used as a compound modifier preceding a noun) is another option, and is a common demonym in German (US-Amerikaner), though almost unheard of in English. Latin Americans (who are the most affected by this use of American) also have yanqui (Yankee) and the euphemism norteamericano/norte-americano (North American, which includes the USA, Mexico, Canada, and several other countries in English, but is frequently used in Spanish to refer to the United States only). Frank Lloyd Wright proposed Usonian (which was taken over into Esperanto: country Usono, demonym Usonano, adjective usona). In the spirit of Sydneysider, Statesider is also a possibility. See main article: Names for Americans.

Most countries refuse to use the therm "american" actually, as you saw in the XG quote, so i don't know why they (yanquis) still push it. They have a ton of names to choose.
It's like me insisting that you should call me "your majesty", and of course you don't.

Literal meaning is pretty retarded...it's actually just something you wipe your ass with after taking a dump (WAY back in the day I suppose). In the way that it's usually used though, it's a not-so polite way of putting emphasis on something. Like if I were to call someone a fuckin' idiot, for example. Bumboclaat would pretty much take "fuckin"'s place (though we'd say it more like: "you's a bumboclaa eediat enu"). Either way, it's a rather rude word, and is generally considered as cursing.

BTW, a pretty easy way to know if someone is faking the accent is if they actually pronounce the t 'cause most of us don't do that.

I guess it would sound awkward to follow bumboclaa with english insult, like bumboclaa asshole or bumboclaa yankee or something. bumboclaa bitch sounds cool though.

How do you call someone originating from the USA anyway ?
Most countries refuse to use the therm "american" actually, as you saw in the XG quote, so i don't know why they (yanquis) still push it. They have a ton of names to choose.

Actually, I DON'T use the term American (I say I'm from the U.S.), but I DO hear Europeans, Asians, and Africans use it ALL THE TIME when referring to people from the States.

It's like me insisting that you should call me "your majesty", and of course you don't.

How is the fact that SOME people in the States prefer to call themselves Americans equivalent to asking you to call us royalty?  That's quite a stretch.  People in the States don't ask other countries to call them ANYTHING, we assume you all have different terms for us and don't really care what you want to call us.  Why do you care what we call ourselves?  Is that what bothers you guys?  Do you wish we'd ask for your input more often?  Or should we be just as concerned about how you label yourselves, and tell you what's correct and what isn't?  We aren't and don't, but it's okay if you want us to.

just like how they enforce soccer over the term football and countless of other shit, yeah.

they're the center of the world after all, its all about the USA ::)

We call football soccer inside the States.  We don't ask you to call it soccer.  We call it football when we leave the States.  So what's the problem?

You guys are just looking for negative things to say about the U.S.  And that's flattering, really.  We appreciate how concerned you are with what we do in our country.  Thanks for your interest.

Also, notice how the members from the States have said NOTHING negative about other posters' countries on this thread, in fact have only expressed interest.  I see this often.  This is reinforcing my hunch that people must not have good manners outside of the States (and I've traveled and lived abroad quite a lot, before you ask, so I'm not ignorant about the world).  Is that true?  My theory is often proven right, after all.  Maybe some of you should be less concerned with what we do and more concerned with how bitter/rude/prejudice/insecure your posts can sound to those reading them.  Before some of you get all upset and start ranting and gnashing your teeth, you should give my points some honest thought for a bit, my young friends.  I'm just trying to help you out and enrich your experience here on this beautiful planet called Earth. :)

I don't give a fuck about USA, until it tries to take for itself the name of the whole continent i'm living in. That kinda bothers me, mind you.

Well, you can't always call americans by their states. It works for a few, like Texan. But what the fuck do you call someone from Illinois or whatever. American just suits more. If they wanted to be named after thier state they should have named their state something you could stick "AN" after. Ish would also be acceptable.

I am from New Zealand. As far as i can tell from my time in GGPO i am the only person in this country who know's what an emulator or a fighting game is. I do not believe there is any other person from NZ who is involved in mugen either.

And it's either New Zealander (which sounds wanky) or Kiwi, which is our national bird, and much shorter and easier to say than New Zealander.

But anyway, Byakko and Anjel and whatever other person from another continent that's not America . . . that still doesn't make it right.
And probably the reasons why you use it are:
-You are living in another continent and it doesn't bother you.
-You've been influence (and your whole culture) by hollywood.
-It's easier than start an argument about "united statian" shit

Now notice how every single time this pop ups, someone living in central or south america starts discussing and compaining. This is because it is somewhat important. Maybe you can't understand it, and it's alright, i can't do nothing to change it, but at least i have to say "that's wrong" once. Best example (note this also happens with Spain and "it's subcountries") to show you how it feels is is, saying, Germany likes to be referred as "Europe".

That or you are bothered by it because you leave near it and are concerned by this mislabeling. Again, you try and see which is simpler to say and which you honestly believe will actually stick. I'm not saying which is correct or wrong, I'm asking you to think about which  will stick - because there's no simple word for it. US-American doesn't work.

You don't have to use the statename persay, just know the state's own lingo. I'm from Indiana, people of Indiana are called 'hoosiers'. It's specifically for those of the state capitol but it's become accepted universally throughout the state. Hoosiers is a shit movie BTW, don't use it for reference.

In my point of view. You don't really have to be Indian to be American.

I believe the land that Indian people live on in that time it's not yet to be America.

America start when Indian people lost they war and land to white people, and they name that land America.

It like if my country lose the war and land to china(or what ever) I can't call my self that I'm china.

If you want to call it a war...
They pushed, killed, and coerced until they had the land they wanted.
It wasn't often so honest a conflict as war.

And Europeans were calling it America before the Indians/native americans were gone.

Actually...
Because we're so intent on calling ourselves Americans we've devised clever monikers for those of native ancestry.
For example, natives from the U.S. and Canada are Native Americans.
Natives from cultures further south are Mezo-American.

He's not from the United States, so his question is excusable.  And the American school system is fine.  You get out of it what you put into it.

I live in Oklahoma, which is where all the Native Americans went during the Trail of Tears after the Europeans/New Americans took all the land.  It's easy to find Native Americans here.  My grandmother is full-blood Cherokee (but I don't call myself Native American or try to take advantage of government handouts LOL).

I am not an American so basically I only know the rather rough version of America's history. All I learned was Country Independence and Southeast Asian Empires.

Another question, rather racist-looking but I am not insulting anyone here. There are some books where they classify Native Americans as "Red-Skins". Are they red skinned or black skinned?

What the hell books are you reading? If it's literature, then it's understandable, but if it's like a school textbook, then we have serious problems here.

:P You are making hilarity mount.

Of course not, none of my textbooks ever mentioned the word "America" at all.

I read about Native Americans from multiple sources.

Yeah, I'm one of reasons for it  :P. Probably should be split.

It's derrogatory but not in the same level of offense as nigger.

It's time you start googling for whatever answers you seek; obviously the questions you're asking are sparked by whatever shitty school system you've fallen victim to. Damn shame google can better you off.

YEAH, because all around the world the children are thought about the greatness of America and it's particular history, rather than focusing in the local one  ;)

Those people that are also called Indians.

Technically any native inhabitants of the American continent.

Mayans and aztecs are included.
Along with Alaskan natives, etc.

usa was invaded by englishman who did very little racial mixing, Mexico, central and southamerca were invaded by dirty sspanyards who got it down with the natives.
Also:

Quote
"Come, arise, Fallen Tower. Split the single language, and make known the sin." and a bit after that: "That's right, no one could approach the mysteries of Heaven. That was the reality of the fallen tower."

I'm pretty sure this is a reference to a biblical story, about how humans tried to build a giant tower to the Heavens. They were stopped by God though, who 'split the single language' and made people suddenly speak languages other than English. Because of this the tower couldn't be completed, since they couldn't communicate with each other and then soon after the tower they were building fell.

We call football soccer inside the States.  We don't ask you to call it soccer.  We call it football when we leave the States.  So what's the problem?
I smell Capcom's involvement somewhere here.

Well, you can't always call americans by their states. It works for a few, like Texan. But what the fuck do you call someone from Illinois or whatever.

I don't like the American term, but I'll take it over Hoosier (should someone someday ask you to generalize what state instead of country) anyday.
