hey guys i thought since dampier's CVS Taki was not made by any one and we dont know who will ever attempt making her so i decided to do that.
since the sprites were all there i finally got them to be used in mugen.

what needs to be done:

throws
ex moves
special moves
supers
little tweaks
and the finishing touches


then i will be done
i dont have a video recorder so i cant make a video of taki so here are the images
enjoy  ;D

oh and if you guys can make a super portrait for taki then i will give you credit for this character.

You need to code specials and supers and you call this 75% ?

hit sparks are misaligned, some moves feels awkward like it's missing some frames. turns to kfm.

Feedback:
-In some sprites "shared palette" is unchecked so the following ones don't use the palette of your choosing.
-There are still some KFM clsn (look at standing light kick for example, 4th frame).
-CLSN on jump light,medium and strong kicks are very big!
-I started a round and the AI was able to do Kung Fu Upper.
-Hitsparks are misaligned;
-stronger attacks are slower than the weaker ones in all frames making the animation look choppy;
-KFM sprites.

Its not BETA, its alpha and about 30%.

- No jump? Just Kung Fu Upper?
- Unchecked Shared Pallete.
- Make animations look smoother.

Well Super_Dragon, its a start(not best one but still), we can talk when you have those 75%

So...if a char already exists, no one else should attempt to make their own version? Ok then... To each his own.



Regarding Taki... Don't be impatient Super_Dragon. Coding a char takes time and effort, lots of testing, etc. And even then, there's still always room for improvement or things you may have overlooked. I haven't tested her at all, but I can tell from all the responses that she was rushed. I don't know your reasoning behind it, but there's no need for it. If you really want to make Taki, you can, just apply yourself and don't be in a hurry to just release something. You should start up a WIP thread for her. Enlist some help, have beta testers, brainstorm on her moveset/abilties. You'll need the help because we all do. A char will only be as good as the time and effort you're willing to put into said char. Good luck.

and a suggestion to everyone that labels their work with percentage completion: stop doing it. there are far too many variables to give a good estimate, some of which may be overlooked when trying to estimate, taking time to even do this in the first place serves almost zero purpose.

In addition to what others already said the current Taki is nothing to write home about. A new version is welcome. Would you tell Sean-Alty not to make Sub-Zero or Hagger since they are already made?

well the reason why the animations might not look right is because of how many frams/sprites the characters have in that attack and i agree that there are some missing. if dampir made more sprites for that attack animation then it might have been smoother.

its not my fault that the character dose not play smoother to you guys but if dampir decides to make more sprites then i will use them.
there are many copies of a lot of characters and there are no one complaining and this should not get shuned just because its pots style of cvs.
i can see why you guys are worried because we alredy have a taki. but this is a cvs taki in pots style.

im getting the beta 2 finished now and i will see to it that the attacks are fluid but i have to see if dampir will make more frams for taki.

(who knows how many ryu characters we have now) (about like 100 or lower) we have too many ryus in mugen) (we just have two takis now)
(its no big deal)

this is dampir's cvs taki so since no one has attempted to code her so i thought i would be the one to do it. since there was no updates on cva taki and i think no one wanted to code her so this might get dampir to make more sprites and attack frames. i think i might sprite naruto characters since i got a new taki in mugen. i might put sakura back up with other characters.

So for the sprites your missing you just replaced it with moves from KFM, i notice when you try to jump forward she turns to a all green KFM and does his palm strike. She also turns to KFM when she grabs as well.

oh i noticed that well ill update this today as im doing it now. it wont take long. all the moves will feel different when done from it feeling like kfm

Hey amigos! this is a good work, the coding is one thing but the spriting is more hard to make and I love this sprites (although Taki hit Kazuya in the image XD XD XD) like Tekken, I have not seen characters from Soul Edge (Soul Calibur) in internet and I say to my friend "applause for this work"

This isn't the first. Dampir itself made a Taki beta with the sprites he recently had made, in the time when he started with Poison.
I agree with DivineWolf, making a char it's not just about the sprites, the code is so important than the sprites (and in some case even more important that that), so the time to dedicate to them has to be long, it's about making the code and test the char against others. So don't be impatient and keep working on her to polish, fill the basic stuff and make a decent (and better than that, a good) version of Taki. As I read in the feedback, you've a lot of work to do. So keep going ;)

Both are equally hard, but always you can choose one of them and especialize on it. And there're very few spriters who're also coders and viceversa. In this case, Dampir already made the sprites, so Super_Dragon only should make the code only

well. it would not look bad if i had some sprites that would make the animations look better and dampir said that he will make more sprites when he can but for now i have unfinished animations that he made and i'm coding them in the best way that i can. it hard to code unfinished transitional sprites. if they were complete then they would look better in game play. i might start something else if dampir don't make more sprites.
