It's a shame Capcom decides to just stick Morrigan in every game that isn't Street Fighter rather than doing a serious revival of the series.While the Hunter chains ultimately paved the way for horribly broken combo systems everywhere, the game has a certain charm in both character designs and gameplay.
If games would just stick to the simplicity of the hunter chains it wouldn't have gotten so broken. I like the chains, I just don't like it when games go overkill with them.Chain, super jump, chain, cancel into another chain, into special attacks, into super moves O_O

Lilith.On the winpose, I've seen it described as a hidden winpose more than a couple of times.I don't like DS because I don't like the characters, the moves, the flashy stuff, the humor. In short, the entire design in general.
She has the body of a sixteen year old or a fourteen year old.Shes a child like Morrigan.In a sense she is closer to the "loli" state than many other characters, but .. that in an european sense, in which she becomes the representation of a Lolita, a sexually charged child.

Marionette and shadow were "fight with the last corpse you defeated" and "fight with a clone of your opponent".they had a pre fight animation of a marionette entering the corpse, or a shadow forming around the fake body.Since the game only had 3 "actual" games, it never grew a lot with new chars, but four new chars for a game is not bad at all.
I really like the animation in the Darkstalkers games. Lots of carefully-implemented "squash and stretch" and other types of deformation/exaggeration to give animations more impact. As well as all sorts of just bizarrely creative animations (you could probably write a book on Anakaris's spriteset alone). Along with all the previously-mentioned easter eggs and such, you can tell it's a series that the staff really had a lot of fun making.

The dashing HK infinite? All good Jedah players use it I think. And before someone panics over infinites, it's one of those that's so tight on timing that hoomins can only do 1 or 2 repetitions... the game's speed actually works into its balance like that.

one cannot "hate" on the DS franchise, it issued forth the "air block" that we have all come to depend on so much.also you can complain about the chain combos but you haven't played a SF clone until you've cut someone in half using bishamon for a final "slice". awesome, and priceless. and if the great C.com ever decides to re-vitalize this franchise, lets hope they leave the 3-d stuff out.(traditional spriters need work too.)

There is a factor when you know a game is awesome, its when someone new playing at it will actually go like "Oh wow did I just.." It happened in Jojo bizarre against pots as well, seeing someone "falling in love" with a game is an awesome thing.

Oh, an interesting thread.DS is money. My favorite Capcom franchise behind the SFA series (and maybe Warzard). It needs to be graphically updated badly, though. And Capcom should give some love to other characters besides Jedah, Felicia, and Morrigan.I for one am hoping that this big, new game Capcom is working on has something to do with DS.

Even the dub version was awesome, great voice cast. Too bad that the last episode was rushed over, making several characters almost background fodder.I also found the "Demitri stole the sun" a bad excuse that went nowhere plot wise, but meh.
