Demon Bride: New 2D fighting game by Examu?

Mingnon Wins yay!

Some days ago Examu, the guys behind Arcana Heart, launch the official website of eX-BOARD, his own Arcade machine:

And they confirm six games for the machine, the first is (obviously) Arcana Heart 2 that is now in everywhere at Japan, the second is Monster Ancient Cline and the others are a Quiz game, a Beat em Up 3D game and a Shogi game...

But, the last, is called "Demon Bride" and the website says that its a "shin kijiku taisen action!" (新機軸2D対戦アクション！... New 2D combat action game) and if i remember correctly that was the same name when they confirm Arcana Heart so many years ago.

So, its seems that Examu is coming with ANOTHER 2D fighting game... i guess.

Angels VS Demons on Earth ? The design looks very nice from what we can see.
Let's hope the stages will be animated this time, and that they'll come up with a system somehow more interesting than Arcana Heart.

Here's the story so far

Demon Bride

- The judgment of the power of White; the defiance of the love of Black; the Contract is the key to Tokyo.

In this double-feature on Examu’s new works, we introduce the completely new production Daemon Bride. Daemon Bride is a fighting game with an Angel vs. Demon theme and a fantasy world as the backbone. We don’t know the exact details of the game’s system, but you fight with weapons of power received from a Contract (Engage) with an angel or a demon. Also, if Arcana Heart is a fighting game aimed at the guys, it is not an exaggeration to say that this game will be charming to the ladies. With charming male characters, a complexly intertwined story, and gorgeous voice acting comparable to theatrical anime, it’s chock-full of things that the gamer girls will like. In addition to the work itself, a drama CD and theme song CD will go on sale, and there are plans to expand into other forms of media from there. But first, to introduce the concerning story and the two main characters:

Story.
It has been seven years since the great calamity that assailed the Kantō region.
What was once Tōkyō is now a city blockaded by a barrier, and has undergone a distinctive revival.

--Kyōritsu Stella Gakuen--
Making a “Contract” (Engage) with beings that transcend human knowledge,
those with the mighty power in their hands have collected.
At the academy, they have guided those who have power to straighten their paths,
in order to protect the equilibrium of the world.
However, those who dissent from the academy’s ideology also exist.

Some want power for the sake of their own convictions,
and some will throw away everything for the sake of just one love.

The desires clash, and mayhem and disorder spread.
The closed Tokyo now enters the act of fighting.

Sumeragi Kuon [Sumeragi uses the character for “emperor”; “Kuon” uses the characters for “eternity”] (v: Miyano Mamoru)

The student council executive chair of Kyōritsu Stella Gakuen. Scholarship also places him as a top genius in the academy. Calm and composed, serious and honest. Can get to be overly fastidious, but his popularity is devoted. Originally a classmate with Reizei, they both defended the order of the academy, but....

Abane Reizei (v: Taniyama Kishō)
Originally the student council executive vice chair of Kyōritsu Stella Gakuen. He was once called Kuon’s right arm, but for whatever reason he lost interest in the academy, and was ousted from the student council executive body. He hates to be restricted; he has a free and uninhibited personality.

Director Serizawa’s comments:
Daemon Bride is a new kind of game that will be just as fun as fighting games are; so that you can enjoy a refreshing sense, we are developing a fighting game of a type that has not been seen so far. We will also introduce many fascinating characters. Please wait for it!

The characters look like they were peeled off of Vampire Knight, but shoujo aside it looks pretty good. I may have to check it out.

The point is he generalized an entire game as "sucking" after seeing only a few designs. It's a different case with 2D sprites and making a game like this as any of that has tried spriting can attest is a bitch. Either way in the end we can't complain as a community around a fighting game maker when new graphical material is dropped on our laps.

Plus he's kinda been doing that whole "It sucks" thing a bit which grates a little.

In most of the screens, both chars aren't touching the ground (looking at the shadows). Bleh, easy bug fix.

Chars don't blend at all with the stages, and their designs are so-so for the most part. Some of them look cool though.

looks like a great rip-off of a guilty gear game that made a baby with arcana heart(i mean that in a good way, of course)

im guessing that the snake wrapped around the girl's leg and octopus around the that guys arm, everyone will have something like a stand from jojo venture's, right?

i wonder how many people will be in this game? my over and under is 15

and background?? characters dont even blend in...
