http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/smusou6/Dynasty Warriors 7PS3 only at this point PS3 only in Japan, PS3 and 360 elsewhere, out March 2011 in Japan everywhereFeatures3D: It's going to cash in on the 3D craze for PS3. If it's done right it will be glorious.Move Support: It's also going to cash in on the Playstation Move. No word on how they're doing this yet, or if something similar will be done with Kinect.Lengthened Story Mode: Instead of running from the Yellow Turban Rebellion (184AD) to just the Battle at Wu Zhang Plains (234AD), DW7 will span the entire Three Kingdoms period, right up until its end in 280AD, and to that end...New Force: Jin. The Jin Dynasty is the faction of the Sima family, who eventually usurped Wei, conquered Shu and forced the surrender of Wu to finally unite the land.Plenty of New Characters: The fact that the game covers nearly twice as much of the era as the last six games suggests that there'll be a lot of new characters to compensate. This is a fifty-year jump in game length, after all; not all the old cast is going to be alive fifty years down the line. To that end, so far we've seen two characters from the new Jin faction, and one of the new girls from Shu.Renbu Is Dead: The DW6 gameplay mechanic is being dropped in favour of the old standard used in DW5, WO and the new Online game. It's not all retconning, however, because...Variable Weapon Switching: Each character will now have two weapons, freely changable in battle. Combos are given certain buffs if the change is made mid-combo. For the time being it seems like a lot of characters are being given duplicates for sub-weapons, but there's every chance they've just been switched in instead of their real ones to not give too much away. If the screenshots we've been shown so far suggest anything, it's that each character will have one of their own personal weapon and one shared weapon. Each character has two weapon slots, each of which are freely interchangeable; characters will have default weapons, but it looks like anyone can equip anything.Revamped Musou Attacks: Players will be able to charge two separate Musou guages, the current theory being to unleash two separate Musou attacks. What we've seen so far is that at least one of them will not be an endless juggle, rather a character-specific one-shot big attack.EX Attacks: It seems like using a character's preferred (read: default) weapon will allow the use of enhanced charge attacks, much like the Tech type characters could in Warriors Orochi. Kinda shaky about the details of this, however; will fix up when I get a better idea how this works. Whatever way, it looks like it will give the combat a little more depth than other DW games have.CharactersSupposedly, all original characters are returning. That's right, all original characters returning. No word on exactly how far that spreads, but I'm guessing that means far less character cuts that poor DW6 had to suffer. I just hope they give Lu Xun his twin swords back. I never got 6 because of the drastic changes it made to my favorite characters. But I admit, I miss mindlessly killing Chinese people... Assuming Sun Ce keeps hit tonfa, I might just buy it anyway. I hate to give up my main just because he's down a blade, but eh. Sun Ce was fun, too.
And please give them their old weapon styles back, instead of having Guan Ping and Sun Quan having the same attacks. Just go back to the DW4 designs, and please for the love of god bring back the Bodyguard system from DW4 as well. And for some reason, I never liked Lu Bu's new voice actor from 6, don't get me on Sun Jian's lol voice. God it sounded like a freaking nasal nerd you here from Erwin. If anything, please bring back this design/style for Zhou TaiSpoiler, click to toggle visibilty
God it's been too long.DW4's Bodyguard system was the one where you could get an entire unit of people following you, right? I think that's it because I really want to say DW5 was the one where you got a named bodyguard you could select and level alongside you.I preferred DW5's, personally, because I'm a sucker for silent named partners (I get attached to them easily), though being a badass on the battlefield with a personal team of badasses at my side was fun, too.LostTruth64 said, September 18, 2010, 06:06:43 amIf anything, please bring back this design/style for Zhou TaiSpoiler, click to toggle visibiltyAgreed 100%.
Yeah, having 8 Elite Body Guards follow you around and kicking some major ass. They are a major help compared to a sidekick. Speaking about kicking ass, why the hell did they drastically dumb down the enemy soldiers AI/system after 4?
I really just want bodyguards, army orders, and alternate scenarios that actually felt different back.Mindlessly killing thousands is still well and good, but Sengoku Basara is winning me over for how fast and expansive it is.
I can't say I really noticed that, though I thought it odd that I could still compete effectively on Hard mode against the AI in DW5. I'm a mediocre gamer at best, I only touch hard modes in my fanboy series, so I expected to get chewed out by the AI. So I figured either I was actually a decent player, my gear was up to snuff (Me and my bros spent hours trying to unlock top tier stuff). Now I think I just got lucky. Is it too much to hope for a marriage of the bodyguard systems from 4 and 5? I think a stable of 8-16 named guards specific to each faction would be good, and you can take out a party of up to four bodyguards. You'd get the "team of ultimate badasses" effect, with the added advantage of personally trained party members tailored to your main and probably several alt's needs within each faction.Probably just wishful thinking. But a man can dream...
Or have DW multiplayer for once. None of this 1vs1 or co-op bullshit. I want an actual battle where you command your own armies to attack strong holds and certain officers, it be really nice if they add a map editor.

Just go back to the DW4 designs, and please for the love of god bring back the Bodyguard system from DW4 as well. Never played 4, but if they're the same ones as 5, yes. Some characters got lucky with their new weapons (I do like SSX's chakrams, but she was known as an archer first, and the bow and arrow are wicked powerful), but yes, less clones the better. Also, I suggest looking up DW6: Empires; most of the clone characters got uncloned, including Sun Quan (has a sword again), Zhang He (back to his claws), Yue Ying (wrist mounted crossbow dagger), etc.QuoteAnd for some reason, I never liked Lu Bu's new voice actor from 6, don't get me on Sun Jian's lol voice. So you could have your silent named partner, OR your squad of ultimate badasses. Oh, and you could swear oaths of bro-hood as well, even marry them.LostTruth64 said, September 18, 2010, 06:37:34 amit be really nice if they add a map editor.TRUTH. Yue Ying with wrist-mounted crossbow daggers? Hm. I rather liked her scythe style from DW5 to the point she was my main Wei character. Oh well, I could default to Jiang Wei again, assuming he still uses that trident spear thingy. (I don't know what it is with me and strategists; Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, Jiang Wei, and Yue Ying were four of my Main Six... The others being Sun Ce and Zhang He)I'll have to look into DW6 and its Empires, they're bound to be fairly cheap by now.EDIT:@The Lord of DestrucityThank you. I shall investigate this tomorrow!

Oh well, about Sun Jian, I just remember playing a DW game and hearing that god awful voice and was basically sad faced, it basically ruined the whole game along with other flaws. And recruiting "generals" and officers as bodguards isn't the same!
The problem being Aeria Games. That means an in-game item shop that sells junk, and good shit for RL money.

It was strange at times.....some stages would only let you bring certain officers, and regardless of how built up the officer was, some of them would die rather quickly.

Ah, Musou Rage. It was kind of like going Super Saiyan, only with a lot more Chinese people and less monkeys.

DW6 had a skill tree, and you L2+face buttoned to activate them. It also butchered a lot of the movelists, cloned a lot of characters that weren't even clones before, even cut a lot of characters entirely... No Xing Cai, Pang De, Da Qiao, Meng Huo or Zhu Rong, for instance. I can't think of anyone sad to see the back of DW6.That said, if you find DW6 Empires, give that a shot. Couple of characters brought back, characters uncloned, Empires mode is cool, rivals, oath-bros, wives, rulers, factions and all that jazz. Oh, and you could bring back whoever you wanted, because create a character. And free DLC.Jexsam said, September 23, 2010, 06:28:28 amAh, Musou Rage. It was kind of like going Super Saiyan, only with a lot more Chinese people and less monkeys. It didn't always work like it does in Strikeforce... It used to just be double speed, double defence, double damage and Musou refill.
I've never played Strikeforce, I was just saying. Gold aura, lightning bolts, increased damage, defense, and speed, Musou regen, flashier than normal big attacks... Looked an awful lot like a Super Saiyan. XDAlso, NO MENG HUO!? WTF.
Jexsam said, September 24, 2010, 07:42:23 pmAlso, NO MENG HUO!? WTF.imo he was awesome as a punching bag. especially in DW5 when there was this stage where you had to kill him 7 times. great for stat ups on Atk
I don't remember what level exactly on DW4 but I know that you play on WU's side and you must kill Meng Hou, I just remember it being hard as hell in the highest difficulty because my commander keeps on dieing and I must go back to help him against OVERWHELMING amount of troops

Regenerating enemy gateways and poison swamps, FUCK. Even on Normal, it was next to impossible for me without a second player running interference.
The only way to beat it was to literally rush them, going past everybody else and kill the leader. God It's impossible to beat it the normal way.
Oh God.. to this DAY I have not beaten the Nanman Campaign on hard without a second player. That level is just... EDIT: Well.. Haven't beaten it on hard alone without using the method above.
I was never good at rushing. By the time I got close enough to the leader to kill him, I was covered in enemies. My bodyguards are never fast enough to be any use defensively to me, so I'd park them near my leader before I rushed. At least with 8 elite bodyguards up there, I was a bit more at ease with my defense. That said, I dug up my old DW4 copy for PS2 and am playing the hell out of it. Running Sun Ce now, just got my level 4 weapon. Now I just need to unlock the Main of Mains, Lu Xun, and grind him up, and I'll be set. Also leveling Zhou Yu just so I have more options when I want to play harder missions. God I forgot how much fun it was to watch that man work.
Get the Wind Charm (extend your attack radius) and get the highest equipment available along with red hare and probably use Death Orb for faster kills. I always use Zhou Tai's grab special as a finishing blow Looks and feels awesome. My mains are Zhou Tai, Ma Chao, and Custom Character Leu Bei style. Fuck now I want to replay it now
Just started up a new game of Orochi 2. Surprised my emulator even runs it; horrible lag when there's too many dudes onscreen, but still surprisingly playable.Jexsam said, September 24, 2010, 07:42:23 pmI've never played Strikeforce, I was just saying. XDNo it didn't; this did.SSJ Zhao Yun, Sun Shang Xiang, Xiahou Dun and Lu Bu.And Meng Huo was one of the lucky ones that got added to Empires. He kicks ass in it too; fights with a busted down pillar. Much more awesome than the claws.QuoteMainsSUN FAMILY REPRESENT. Badass bow bitch Shang Xiang for awesome tier. One of the main reasons I'm looking forward to all the redesigns; I can't stand her DW6 look.
Official Launch just went ahead, fair chunk of new info.Fourth Faction: JinThe two new characters almost everyone thought were new Wei characters are in fact new Jin characters, Sima Shi and Sima Zhao. Jin is the name of the dynasty formed after the descendants of Sima Yi rebelled against Wei and unified the land; they are represented in DW7 with the color turquoise. They gave a short demonstration of Sima Zhao, one of the new guys. He fights with a sword and what looks like a spiked cannon tonfa. At the moment, though, just about everyone seems to have this as a substitute weapon; no telling if he'll actually end up with this. The Other New Character: Bao SanniangBao Sanniang is the wife of Guan Suo, one of Guan Yu's sons. Jury's out whether this will extend to her being Guan Ping's wife yet. Either way, she's being voiced by Nonaka Ai, familiar to fans of Sayonara Zetsubo-Sensei as Fuura Kafuka, the annoyingly positive bitch who makes this new character seems sickenly moeblobby. Mid-Fight Weapon SwitchingR1 tags between what looks like two weapons at the moment. If it's done mid combo it grants some kind of buff. All of the weapons in that first picture are returning from certain characters' old and new movesets; Zhu Xu, Sun Shang Xiang, Ling Tong, one of the Qiaos, what I guess is Gan Ning's river sword, and a sword and large shield. Large shield, you say? Isn't that Xing Cai's weapon? Yes, apparently she's back; that's her in the second picture.
Okay.......I really hate this being PS3 exclusive(don't have job and only have X360 )But If I can say something about the Nanman Campaign:Compared to 5, 4's Nanman Campaign was complete bullshit, to the point that 5's was a complete cakewalk except when on Chaos. Poison Marshes if your CO falls in, a simple soldier can kill him since he won't advance cept in rare cases, respawning enemy gates(which meant If you kept taking down Meng Hou every time, there are huger chances for your army to get demolished), and so many freakin' generals, it turns absurd. Cranked up to eleven on Hard Mode.Seriously, it's best to BE the CO when you do the mission, ALWAYS(Getting Zhou Tai's Final Weapon is a complete bitch, though)
Dont worry it'll be back online. It was on beta and they had only Pang De, Zhao Yun, Lu Xun, The DWO staff weapon, Diao Chan, and Dian Wei's weapons; so you're not missing much. I played the japanese version and it is much better in terms of content. But then again it wont take too long before it catches up a little with the japanese version. I assume that they would have all the weapons (minus lu bu's weapon of course that I think comes later) and the japanese promo shown elephant mounts. Give it a little time and you'll be able to play.Oh and the GM's there are awesome. They gave me early access to the game and one of them is hot.I really cannot wait till more comes from Dynasty 7 it looks like a great game that any fan would enjoy. I just hope they make strikeforce 2 ps3 playable.UPDATE: DWO is having an event where you can access the beta until this sunday. So people who want to try the beta of the game out play right now or you'll probably have to wait until the game comes out.
Wang Yuanji (Mother of Sima Yan)Zhuge Dan (post Wei officer)Returning:Cai Wenji, Xiahou Yuan, Cao Cao, Lu Meng, Ling Tong, Da Qiao , Xing Cai, Ma Chao
Don't know if anybody notice this but SW2 Empires has a hell of a lot more strategy than DW6 Empires. Its annoying how when I don't help out with Defending a territory regardless if I'am Ruler or Officer it gets automatically taken. Seriously...
