So I recorded this with Fraps the other day. However, as you can see the colors are uh....wacky. I don't have the slightest clue why.
It just switched around the red and blue channels. Recorded in BGR instead of RGB.That should be easy to solve if you have something like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere, even Magix.Unless you're willing to just reset your Fraps settings and record again.
That's great to hear, but do you know what effects I need to use in Magix to correct it? I'm using 15 by the way.
I installed a totally new fresh copy of Fraps and have the exact same problem.I really don't know what to do. It still records in that ugly ass horrendously colored mess.To make matters worse, screenshots record fine but videos are still all strange.
I suggest using Camtasia Studio to record mugen videos. It requires little system resources and it even allows you to convert the video in HD format afterwards.

It lags the crap out an unnecessary amount of my videos, sometimes lagging every recording until I restart my computer.
NeoBloodGouki said, August 08, 2011, 05:27:50 pmi recommend getting Zdsoft it works wellThis. Even on my crappy PC it runs perfectly well.
I use Bandicam. Though I don't use it for WinMUGEN as I prefer 1.0. The demo version's good btw. It has a recording limit but unless you're fighting a really long battle (like say SuperMystery's Dark EC on hard AI level.) it should work nicely. The recording limit is 10 minutes. This is a pretty good time for most NORMAL MUGEN fights. Also, WinMUGEN should run in directX mode by default so you should be good to go. bandicam will detect Direct X applications but you can make it record other applications manually. It also supports Stereo mix and Windows Vista/Seven sound which is another plus.
zdsoft is good but it will depend on your codec the most like Mala said even if you computer is crappy
I've tried every single recorder suggested in this topic. None of them are to my liking.Fraps is perfect except for this stupid fucking color issue. I could really, really use a hand here because nobody else I ask seems to know the problem either. I'm about to fucking give up.
You should upload an small AVI file produced by FRAPS. Maybe someone will be able to see what's wrong with it :s
Have you tried a different (earlier or newer) version of Fraps to see if this is present in those versions?
He's tried multiple different builds and has repeatedly installed, uninstalled and reinstalled Fraps. Nothing.
This problem has been fixed since 3.2.4(Nov 2010) according to their site. If you're running DirectX10, you might consider reinstalling that as well.
I'll give that a try.Funny enough, using a very old version of Fraps results in the color looking fine but the audio being grossly desynced .
