How about talking about the good mugen contributors? I'm still a noob, so I may not even get in the list.
NMario64 in my opinion is a great contributor, I really apreciate his creations and his SFA3 characters are very good and in special Balrog (boxer) who can change his style before the match is surelly a nice touch. I don't like MMR's Ken since the style change according to the palette, which might be frustrating at times. Too bad that we can't change styles direct in the select screen, but someday who knows?

Dxwho, The_None and mass

These are my absolute favorites because they always make original or unknown things that have never been done before, and for the first two they always put in their own ideas into the character which is always enjoyable

I really like Borghi and Seanaltly because it's always awesome to see someone's own characters come to life in MUGEN.  Sure, awesome conversions of characters from other games is great, but originality is by far the brightest part of MUGEN.

  • The cycle of life and death continues
Kamekaze,& basara are some of my favorites

Kamekaze puts more detail into alot of his characters instead of having them being a strait port from a game

and Basara from many different games and  can make original stuff also

Cybaster, PoTS, KOD and a lot more people that have contributed with their awesome tutorials.

And guys, contributor is not the same as creator. Some people may have not created anything, or if they did it isn't worth mentioning, but they helped a lot the MUGEN community.

Thank you. Also Just No Point and Krono and the rippers are being left in the cold here.

Don't forget about the feedback fuckers Like Gill and many others.

Or wait... How about Val or Claws?

In short... All contributors are good contributors. The title should be favorite contributions or something. Mine would be Cyanide, just because I know if I get stuck... he will have an idea or two to throw at me.

You limit yourself so badly when you try to avoid variables. When you get over your fear of the "complexity" of variables, you will find yourself in a better place: A beautiful world where coding is actually fun.

I know Mugen only because of the MKP work of Interloko and Raton Malo.

And Cyanide has answered every question I've ever asked on the Guild, even if I didn't ask it in the right place.

I think I might not have been so excited about MUGEN if it hadn't been for XCB's stuff. I'll be the first to admit that it can be frustrating going up against some of his characters, but when I first started I was more excited about how the flashy stuff and the gameplay were both the best I'd seen yet.

Also, since I don't think I saw anyone say it, Jmorphman, simply by virtue of the work he puts into his characters.

Also, in the latin community, Le@ndro and GoD_RyU are a good example of char creators.

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

Well, I think you should at least try Reu's Dragon Claw, for its awesome unique revolutionary originality.

In Chinese I describe Reu's Dragon Claw as "前無古人後無來者", meaning "to surpass all others of its kind before and since to have neither predecessors nor successors".

It's supper time!

dragonclaw was extremely cheap but beatable, whereas his other characters evil ryu which I am not a fan of was completely unreasonable. very irritating to fight against since it spammed evasion moves endlessly and his specials were ridiculously over powered. But the originality and share hard work that i could tell went into his mugen creations is what attracted to me to his work.

as for bugya vergil again it was sometimes irritating to fight since all his AI does is parry constantly but again I can tell that hard work and dedication went into the creation.

I remember the first time I saw bugya and reus creations I was shocked, I didn't believe such things were possible in mugen, I was originally going to hand draw my stuff until I saw what the power of 3d could do.

as for borghi, I was attracted to the complexity of his coding skills. By simply looking through is character files I learned so much about coding.

I forgot to mention AIDUZZI another brilliant coder I learned from

This topic really has an undefined goal : are we supposed to talk about contributors we think have brought the most to the community, by their inspiring creations or various help and ressources they've given to the community, or are we supposed to talk about our favourite creators (which several people are doing, even though there's only a thin line between both categorizes, since your favourite creator can possibly be the reason you started creating in the first place) ?

For me, a good contributor is not just someone who make good chars. Its beyond that.
Its people who had helped people in all those years.

There are some good contributors who even haven't wrote a single line of code, but were always helpful.

Its not because makes a char from a game that I like = good creator.  Or the ones who makes the chars from the game that are in fashion those days. This doesn't sounds right to me.

There are such GREAT coders who are underrated thanx to those "fashions". I can name some wonderful creators that aren't on the "mainstream", like Caddie and Bia.

Bia, as I told many times, its the most intelligent person I ever known in my whole life. I know that we have some creators that are very intelligent, like Don Drago, [E], VIB (good one). But Bia is just...aren't from this planet.

I would be unfair to tell just few names - I do agree with almost every name mentioned here.
And I´m happy to see my name here. Thanks to who had mentioned it.

There are special names that I would like to mention, even beeing aware that this isn't fair:

- Ses, VirtualTek, {_Carnificina_}, DeleteBR, Gorjeador, Inverse (is he still alive?), Necromancer, Cyanide, Kazmer13, Byakko , XGargoyle, KGenjuro, ImmortalSyn, NeoGouki and many other.

People from more recent days like Zvitor, OrochiGill, Nestor and others are worthy mentions too.

Plus, there are few names that I had the honor, since my start back at 1999,  to see they starting like a newbie...and turned into monsters:

- POTS (good old days at MGBR)
- Fervicante
- Loganir

To remember that I've helped they with tips and they had exceeded me ...just brings me happyness.

And, to finsh this is good style, the man who was my master, a good friend ( I don't fucking care if some morons don't believe in that):

Juan Carlos.

*I know that this list doesn't represent the whole truth. I would be unfair to try to rememeber everyone's names.

Neocide, Roken, Strife, Pextin and few others - thanks to them DBZ Community wasn't totally crap. It's what bring me to Mugen in first place and I'm still hug fan of them

Also there is NHK who always picked up underrated chars, XCB/Eli who always made some decent chars, Splode (why no one mentioned him ?) who also was good creator (Randy & his RPG system), Tatsu which excedeed Mugen limits & always made something unique and bunch of others I forgot in the moment.

I can read some people's MUGEN historical backgrounds in this topic, how cool!   :yippi:

Oh and to all MUGEN News Reporters, without them, your HDD won't be filled with so many different MUGEN creations all around the world!   :bravo:

It's supper time!

  • Meh, maybe not.
No one said Sander  :???:
Hell he's one of my favorite creaters!
Cybaster, Jesuszilla, Kirishima, Maladingdong, Grayfox, Rajaa... etc
It's to much to think  :S

Totally man, sander for sure.  Very constant and stable characters that can kick your ass all over the place and yet you don't feel cheated.

You got a good point, is always good to have makers who don't get into over-popular characters^^
