some early screenies.





my beta tester has given me alot of info and footage from final fight so might try some interesting things(obviously keeping things alpha style)


i wont be releasing this character publically, only for the full game, after guy i will be releasing the next.


[was supposed to be for roster set 3 but he would be a great addition to set 1]

well after reviewing my 1st roster it reminded me of sf2 lol... looks too basic so i wanted to change it to make it more exciting i had other options but Guy was just someone i thought people might like to see in the first game as i would like to see too.

theres alot i could do with him seeing as he is from final fight so i would like to try some new things out and as i said while keeping it alpha styled.(lets see what happens)

i think i better update the roster after this change and think about other possible roster 1 chars...

thought luckily i did note "may change" in the full game thread. :P

Update again:  All air basics done.

(i made f1 not possible during intro because it messes up guys awesome sfa3 running ninja clone intro :P)

Update:

Bushin Izuna Otoshi/Izuna no Hiji Otoshi Done, light, med, hard. (in english the forward flip with elbow thingy or throw  :-*)

another update:

done all specials now.

Before i start on the supers im gonna add some custom things which may take time as i need to find a talented spriter to convert Final Fight 3 sprites to alpha style/size..if anyone would like to help me out please get back to me and ill explain which moves need converting.

Verbal update: (if requested screenshots can be shown)

Shoulder Throw done
and added some final fight style combos (which are from alpha 3)

lp,mp,hp*  and lp,mp,hp,hk*

hp* = a special elbow that only shows in these specific combos.

hk* = standing hard close kick but knocks enemy off their feet.

i think my beta tester mentioned theres a lp,lp version going into one of them i'd have to double check but to the combo's above ive kept the combo window pretty strict like alpha 3 and im pretty happy with it at teh moment.


right now im still waiting for a suitable spriter to help with converting some sprites.

Update:

First Super Done: Bushin Gourai Kyaku

Yes you may notice a change of superpause spark to the X-ism version, i think it makes more sense to use it rather than the A-ism version seeing as the powerbar is based off of X-ism, i added some little extras on the superpause like a quick double flash and tiny bit of envshake for a better look.(not overkill)

your just saying that because you already made a guy  ;)
I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

V-ism was planned. However making like sfa3 could be tricky as the afterimage hits and stuff, on the other hand theres the cvs style V-ism which although has nothing to do with alpha but is easier to code.

progress report:

air throw done(prob mentioned before)
and Bushin Musou Renge

because the flashes are quick, and frame rate isnt great when recording you might not see them all but i assure you they are there lol.... they should go white,red,black..... and they do but not always seen in the vid (mayb last part)..

another thing too, when hitting them with the move he poses after, when knocking out p2 he doesnt and goes into the normal win pose which is the same as sfa3.

now thats out the way i can start adding some custom stuff, and add all the systems in and rage super.

Hey guys.

Guy is pretty much done in terms of alpha3, now the fun part begins but adding my own stuff... obviously keeping things with the style. (haha well that one went out the window with rage feature then)

anyway heres a video of combos for ya (3 main ones but more are available of course)

damage dampener hasn't been added yet. (lol if it was from sfa3 max none would be needed ive seen those i-ism combos :P)

also apologies you can hear my daughter say "dad" at the end of combo 2  :sugoi:

im using laptop with built in mic, i saw the tutorial you sent and theres no soundcard icon that pops up he must have been using a desktop pc.(vista)

Ryon will be doing a gameplay video for me next because his hardware is much better.

they aren't that hard, at first i kept the combo window accurate to sfa3, but some people who were testing were having trouble doing it :P

if your not a guy player the ff chain is hard to pull off, but i made it a little less strict now and "user friendly"

little update:

all of guys alpha stuff is done now im adding some of my own stuff.
(i know guy has alot of moves in general but adding a couple more won't hurt)

teleport edit is done by sky from MI.



teleport (which is a p2 position+ type teleport flashes white in and out)

little rage teaser, a few people have already seen it in action via podcast but ill make a video as soon as i can, im just tidying up some of sky's edits.

Also little update on how rage move now works:

old way: hp+hk to activate when life is "desperation" low then qcf(x2)+hp+hk to grab... limited time only

new way: qcf(x2)+hp+hk to activate... then the grab is automatic like zangiefs final atomic buster if you miss the move ends.
(note: not all characters will have a grab some will have stun attacks like for eg, a flying kick in place of the grab pause.)


Also Ryu is being updated too.

Rage move is ff3 inspired. Teleport sound MAY change.

Rage Update

Influenced a tiny bit by ssf4 watch the video and enjoy, i used the sf4 super ko finish sound because it seemed appropriate lol.

a few people have said to me to change the R>A>G>E (+ voice) part and just have it just as a normal superpause but with different FX so people know its the most powerful move,

my intention wasn't for it to sound like a mortal kombat finisher, but sadly it does lol

i guess i was just trying something new, ill keep all the moves but i might change the rage superpause part still undecided.
