Hey!

Well it depends on how old, it's hard for me to go back and fix old stuff because I end up wanting to recode the whole thing. So if I were to do it, I would probably need some help (maybe from someone looking to learn some KOF coding?).

So that's a pretty huge maybe, I guess.

Not really. The new cast in 2002UM mostly uses data from 99/2000 instead of 2001.

In Xiangfei's case it's a mix of both (her basics use 99 data for the most part).

Basically her command throw SDM has different versions and they are selected randomly.

I basically need someone to try the sdm raw 100 times and jot down the results (out of those 100, how many of them were a specific version). It would help me a lot. :P

The more samples the best, too.

Well after doing the SDM 50 times (Because I am a lazy butt), here is what happened.
Apparently, after doing the SDM a certain amount of times, the points messages changes from '103' to '2002', an obvious nod to the title of the game. I got this after 17 regular SDM hits, then it happened again, and afterwards came back twice after 20 SDM hits.
This message pops up 4 out of 50 landed hits. Hope it helps.

Hunting them down with Artmoney might help too.
At least to get a hold of the formula used there by SNKP.

Or you can just go with your own routine, it's not like you're going to perform 100 SDMs in a match ;)

I can force the game to perform the super for me, but I'm not sure how I'd go about finding the actual address for how often she actually does it.

For Shingo's critical hits I got a big enough sample and got a rough estimate of the probability (in 02UM he's quite lucky: 47% chance).

I then spiced things up by allowing the player to continue a critical string if their timing was 100% spot-on in MAX cancels.

I think it can be found but might be painful. No need to go that deep into accuracy for that feature (and yes, that's coming from me :p), as long as you get a close enough sample.

So Xiangfei's basically done, I just need to wrap up a few details.

However, there's a special new WIP coming soon!

First one to guess what it is will get special access to my super-personal-VIP-only-ultra-private-hidden-out-of-reach-and-amazing WIP folder.

HOWEVER there's gonna be 3 rules!

1. If I have received a file from you in the past week on Skype you cannot enter the contest or help people guess.
2. You may only ask YES or NO questions.
3. If you already know you may not enter the contest.
4. One question per post. >:(

Basically NO SPOILERS PLS or heads will be rolling.

And whichever game he appeared in has a DP motion; Super Dragon Ball Z has one for him, the only villain other than than 17/18 that has it.

About that, after doing a quick research on that voice actor part, I mistakenly got it mixed up.  I was thinking of the English VA for Jedah (Cross Edge) sharing the same voice as Cell, but I was wrong, so I swapped it with the answer I had in mind.


EDIT: Actually it is the same person!  He just did the voice in video games only and I was just focusing on the anime portion where Cell had other English VAs.

The spots on Cell's left thigh in the third sprite looks weird during movement.  Only one spot doesn't make any movement.  The spots on his arm look correct in transition.

forgive me for my ignorance, but what dos AP mean?  I know neocide is using Butoden styled sprites ( ive been giving him a hand whenever I can ) and im sure this will turn out great what with Vans giving a try at it.

Anime Perfect, that means using anime proportions while using "cvs" style shading instead of using cvs style proportions.

I never heard of that. Where does the term originate from? 
Choujin uses arcade style sprites ( from the arcade games).
That one looks like a butoden styled character ( from the consoles, not counting butoden 1 because the style got revamped).
There is also shin butoden that used cel animation and butoden kai used bigheaded characters.

It originated from Dark Roken (aka Roken), one of the former ZGTeam and Rokcorp leading members.
Some might remember his Super Saiyan 4 Goku or Super Vegeta next to the DBZ 2005 Demo.
But what I understood, he quit the scene. Neo should know more I guess.

Roken once created this style for Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and Bleach characters.
It is an evolved form of ZGT's former SBE style (Super/Shin Butouden Enhanced?).
Neo is actually using that style for his DBK and Bleach characters.

The style doesn't really follow any Capcom rules if I remember correctly, but it does resemble it a bit.
You could say it follows CVS shading, but keeps the shape, form and design of the character where it originated from.

what rai tei said, and I told you about AP a gazillion times ICED. :V Glad to see this cell being finally made though.

SBE was Super Boutoden Evolved it was a name I came up with to explain the style, AP is basically that but takes more cues from CVS shading mechanics.

and actually the Real name is Animation perfect, It's basically a style of turning sprites into something you'd see more in a animated series. While keeping their respective proportions

Good to see Cell is being coded though, Hopefully ryuku doesn't take every idea I have for him :p J/K

Rick Strowd? As long as you don't need him to run with moving legs. He has a couple of leaping dashes, but no actual running sprites. Leap back and forwards yes.

He has a couple of moves that would make him a good striker. One that is basically burn knuckle. Another like a short range blockable galactica phantom. He also has hellion (vanessa's dp+a)

Semester has kinda caught up to me, SORRY FOR THE LATE NEWS BUT...

Here's an update: Xiangfei is pretty much complete, but she's missing a small portrait still!

R&D team and I are currently in the process of testing the brand new scramble mode that we have programmed into her. Soon the winners of the challenge will receive a link to the official WIP folder so they can check her out for themselves. :ninja:
