Sometimes its time for a change. I did it on most communities too while i was known as "GBK" for almost an arcade, people have to call me by my real name now almost everywhere.

I registered here as WaruiGouki but thankfully I was able to get people to call me "Jango" so that by the time I released my first character, I was known as Jango. At times I've considered changing it again so I can kinda distance myself from some of the stupid shit I did with my username (not to mention that I stopped watching/reading One Piece at the Alabaster arc, heh), but I've come to accept that what's done is done and to just move on.
you can change your name, just don't be surprised if some people still call you divinewolf. if you stick to it for years most people should get used to it. i've wanted to put an end to titiln for years but it is far too late

My name when I first started here was just dumb (the ones I wanted were taken), so I changed it. Fortunately I still mostly lurked here at that time. I was going to go by The One Who Claimed Athena As His Waifu: Niitris, but it didn't fit in that tiny space where the names go, so I kinda shortened it.

You will always be DivineWolf to me, much like how very rarely I'll call OrochiGill by another name I originally knew him by (but I shan't say what it is! Tis a secret~). I'm kinda glad that I changed my name to Xenomic years ago...Kushara wasn't exactly that great of a username (and I found out later on in life that it was Spanish for Spoon...so I named my dragon duder Spoon. >: ( ). Now everyone knows me as Xenomic (which makes confusing people fun whenever I pop into IRC after not being on in ages with the name Ansem or Star Sapphire~ :3 ).

I've been using this name since my first venture into the internet forums.Before that I had a different one on IRC - not a very flattering one, but it was the best my 12-year-old self could come up with.
I went by a different name for like half a year on a forum I moderate but the name never stuck. If you're a well-known personality, its a given everyone will call you what you were called when you established that cult of personalityTh only solution is what Caddie said, go do something really big and ambitious with your new name, like run for president or something
