Sniper's Choice is her counter move. With no input during the counter pause, it works a lot like parrying. Sniper Catch is her super counter; on successful counter it will automatically perform an un-blockable punch with really short range.

Mach Strike was an idea Iced gave me. It's a modification of one of her old supers; she'll hit you in the middle of a Mach Slide and then come down with a Cannon Strike, assuming you didn't block the Mach Strike.

Juni is going to play more defensively and try to maximize her advantages from her counters.  Juli, when I get to her, is going to be the aggressive one.

The old ones are still up for download @ zerosenworkshop.x10hosting.com, if you think you can handle the badness.

Suggestions for the movelist are welcome.

I'm doing the color sep before I start the code and shit, so this will take only forever to get done. I have some updates and a new release coming out soon to tide you over until then, so be nice and make palettes for me, ask questions about the system, or give movelist input in the meantime.

More seriously, I was going to consider the hat (but NOT the legs) at one point, then decided that there is such a thing as too much separation sometimes.

So that right up there is all you get. Juli will have extra colors for the tie, since her tie can't be the same color as her hair for the default palette, but no hat and no legs.

It's more than a simple headswap, for one thing, you'd have to get rid of the leg stripes cause Juni has sprites unique to her, plus there are minor differences even with the legs.

Anyway, for real.

Here's the deal.

For the sake of not stalling the project I am going ahead with the separation as it is and will release Juni with the color separation that she has now. If, at a later date, the hat and the legs are separated out, I will add the new SFF as an optional update.

The same will apply for Juli, because I'm already using Rolento's method for both of them and it's very quick on a sprite-to-sprite basis.

TL;DR: It's staying the way it is for now and if it gets changed later, it will. If not, it won't. So make me palettes and talk about movelist shit now, and the next person to bring up the hat/leg thing is going to get beaten with a yardstick. Got it?

Also, I fucked up the palette for the template the first time. It's already been replaced in the top post and I'll fix Dishamon's palette myself.

All right. Got a little lost on the road of life, but I've made my way back a bit. Here's progress.

So I decided that in the interest of having less work to do later, I'd get started on code and tedious SFF shit.





Standing basics are done, all required and get-hits are done. I'm using SFFv2 so I can put in the placeholder sprites without the colors messing up. No need to worry; palettes will be mapped the old-school way so that you can pick and choose as you like.

I've been going back over Juni's movelist, sorting some things out, and here are things I've changed from that post up top.

-Power Charge is out, since the girls didn't have it when I first released them and I'm aiming to stay a little more down to earth this time.

-Sniper's Choice->Cannon Strike can have its direction of recovery changed depending on whether you hold F or B as it hits.
-If the first hit of Sniper Bash doesn't connect, then it fails to continue.
-Sniper Catch's counterattack is unblockable if it is triggered (it's a counter super, so yeah. >:))
-The first set of attacks from Two Dolls: Mach Drill is an overhead.

Also, the gameplay rules that are carrying over from the old version.
-Juni's basics, specials, and supers are in most cases physically weaker than Juli's. Any damage from her counter supers are likely the only exceptions.
-Juni's Cannon Spike does not cause Juni to travel backwards after impact with the opponent, and hits multiple times.
-Juni's Spin Knuckle has greater range than Juli's.

Things that will be different in this new version:
-No L>M>H>special nonsense like I did before. Far too loose for my tastes in this case. Expect something more along the lines of the girls (Blaze, Leona, King), with the ability to go from stand to crouch with light basics, and maybe some specific combos like LK>HK or something.
-I may remove the "no Lv. 3 when fighting against Juni/Juli" rule. I never got any complaints about it but it seems a little silly in retrospect.

If you have any suggestions, I'm willing to hear them. Any questions, I'll answer them. Though if you mention wanting Parries or Custom Combos I'm afraid I'll have to become very upset with you.

The big things are the addition of the Emergency Rolls/Blowback and Super+Dream Cancels. I was looking for ways to make my characters unique and seeing that CvS never included the Emergency stuff I figured it'd be a nice touch.

Blame the guy that made Battle Moon Wars for that, Chosis. He apparently loves him the HF route. (I only started playing a few days ago so I don't have an opinion yet.) :P

On a slightly related note, SFFv2 shenanigans will most likely result in unchangeable palettes on the player-end until FF3 comes out. This is because I need Juni and Juli's colors to look coordinated when they use their Lv. 3 supers, and that requires use of internal palettes since Juni and Juli don't have exactly the same color separation. I will include all of the palettes that I get in the SFF, though, so that if you know how to switch palette groups, you'll be able to get them to match when you change palettes with no problem.

When Juli's color separation and her WIP topic go up, I expect to see new ones that are just for her. Just because I can (and will be) adapting Juni's palettes to Juli doesn't mean that I'm going to reuse them wholesale when she becomes her own character.
