I don't know why, but since last night the shower's been dripping (it stayed like that after I took a shower). Any fast solutions that don't involve dismantleing the whole thing?

easy solution: get a big bucket, unless it's dripping a lot it should be able to get most of the water in it and when someone from your house takes a shower they can just use that water to wash out the soap in the end.

second easy solution. get gravity/relativity to work in your favor by bending the water upwards and thus the water pressure will not be enough for the water to leak.

Well I'm guessing you already tried turning really hard.

Yes us Americans know this shit. We know to grab a pair of channel locks and tighten everything up. If it still leaks then we go to the store and buy a new shower head and use the same channel locks and remove the old one. If it still leaks then we take everything apart even in the end we have to replace are walls.

It's called hard work.

It's like this old joke.

Guy gets a bill from the Plummer. "Holy shit that's more than my Doctor." The Plummer replies, "Yeah I used to be a doctor."

I hoe that helped.

It's expensive here as well. That's why I don't want to call them.

It's still driping BTW. A little less, though, since (never imagined that would work or maybe it was a coincidence) I punched the wall out of frustration. Yep, I'm nuts.

Because people have to make a living, they also need healthcare and enough left over to cover taxes. Then the company needs to pay for advertising, Office staff, The material, the truck and the gas for it, the companies taxes, the office people's health care. Then the Accountants to ensure they are paying the right taxes, licenses so the company can do the work. And finally the company needs to make a profit.

Also no offense to other countries, but we have extreme   safety regulations and the quality of the work is far better because of it. This is caused because if you do something that is considered unsafe and it hurts someone you will loose everything.

So between learning the code for your trade and how to do it the "Right" way and the experience to do any job our plummers and such are called skilled Labor. This training also cost money. A licensed and trained plummer here in the states should be able to fix your toilet and then go and fix the water treatment plant.

So as you can see there is a reason why the bill is so high. And this is also why when it comes to easy stuff we do it ourselves or if you are a dumb shit you call an Illegals.

The funny part is the Illegals have been here so long now that they cost about the same minus the health care, Taxes and Licensing so this causes a problem because now they are doing jobs that should go to a contractor who pays taxes and such helping the economy.

The bad thing is for the last 30 years Regan Economics has tried to make it a good thing to fuck your workers. Greed is good. So now it's getter harder and harder to find a job that has healthcare. Worse yet because greed is good (Regan's get something for nothing) the healthcare companies do what ever than can not to pay.

As you can see a working guy is getting fucked from all sides but that will all be changing real soon.

It's expensive here as well.

However, there's guarantee. If you have something done and it turns out to have been done shitty two weeks later, the guy is obliged to fix it - and that's kinda what makes it expensive. Also taxes what shamrock said.

Not at all. We admire and envy that. In fact that's one the most commented subjects by inmigrants who have returned to their countries. At least here.

The worst part here is hospitals. For example if you have a cardiac arrest in front of a Hospital in which you don't have a history, you simply don't get attention. A guy died of a respiratory arrest months ago, he did got to the hospital early, but the poor bastard was sent to another hospital, because "it's not their problem". Just fuck the Hippocratic oath.

It took people long enough. That's the first thing I expected to read when I started the topic.

Sweden have even more extreme safety regulations. Swedes is obsessed with safety.
We have free Healthcare, the only thing you pay for is the space (one bed) you use if you are hurt really bad. If you broke your leg and need to have a surgery you don't have to pay a single SEK for the surgery, not even a öre.

Oh that's not the case at all here.
If you appear to be having a heart attack, they'll wheel you straight to the ER.
Of course if they find out you don't have insurance once you get there, they'll wheel you out the nearest window.
