I've seen sentry but all he could do was move. No  attacks. I also saw a hawkman on youtube but i think he was a wip. Most of them are.

Im just starting with the characters. After Im going to try to do the screen pack.
And it would still be a compilation.

Basically, if I could make the same full game by simply downloading different characters then it's not a full game, it's a compilation. We don't have a problem with you making one for yourself, but we do have a problem when you're trying to pass one off as a full game.

Send me a PM if you decide to add me on PSN, so I don't mistake you for a random Friend whore.

Oh, well it is for me because i'm new to this and haven't made a thing. The characters would take forever to make. Does some random person's sprites count as not a full game?

You can take somebodys sprites. But you must credit them. Also you cant take them if they are closed source.
For a full game all characters need to have the same style(KoF,MvC,CvS etc.),or you can make a new style, like Sean Altly did for his CvtW project

Being new isn't an excuse.

Yes, in order to make a proper character you must put in....*gasp*.....WORK.

Can someone give me clear instructions on how to create a character with sprites?

There's a lot of things involved in character creation and certain factors to consider depending on the type of character you intend to do.

However, I don't think you have the motivation or the attention span to complete a single character.

Send me a PM if you decide to add me on PSN, so I don't mistake you for a random Friend whore.

The hell is your problem?

I'm telling you, if you want your characters to be done, you need to do the work yourself. And it looks to me that you just want people to do all the work for you. That's not how things work around here.

This thread is a mess. GJ guys.

Vaanko, the difference etween a 'fullgame' and a 'compilation' is the ammount of work in its creation. If you download a bunch of characters and stages, and pack them with a screenpack, you're making a compilation.

If you either make most of the contet from scratch or at least edit other people's work considerably, you can call it a fullgame.

That's been going on since ages, I don't quite know if you're getting through, Jman. Also, Vaan, as Imma call you, you gotta start with something a bit different first.  Do you know what you want to do with them as far as the system goes? After that, you can probably consult the documents+MUGEN help threads here, there's plenty of good info archived.

You can keep going with simply downloading things. The key to it being a full game is what you do after you get these things.

If you look at each one, individually, then balance them against each other. You make sure the sparks are shared. You make sure there are no differences in the system. For example none of them have MK style gameplay. That sort of thing. This will take a long time if you do it properly.

Please note that at no time do we mind if you wish to make a compilation. You are absolutely free to do so but please don't bother to release it on the forum as it's something "anyone" can do.

If you wish to request characters we do have a request forum and i would suggest you make use of it. Please read the rules there for the correct way to request.

I sincerely didn´t see being a douche, like at all. It was pretty straightforward IMO

@Vaan1231:

In order to get people to work with you, it is very important to share what you have and actually do some work (chars) on your own. If your project calls the attention of someone to help you out then you´re good. One step at a time. Right now you are constructing a compilation.

Good video? Unfortunately no, but I guarantee there's some good posts in the threads themselves, or possibly in the help section of this forum. I promise if you look through those threads you'll find helpful things. The only other thing I can say about Fighter Factory is try the included documents, maybe they'll help you a bit? IIRC they had visual representations of stuff so that might be a good place to start. Also Darkflare, let me illustrate an example to show you why you're not helping. It's like a new guy comes to college, and he makes either a mistake or he misestimates something, he's new, and he's just getting into the swing. And then some guy notices this, goes over to his desk and flips it over, scattering his papers, and yells at him to do it over because he didn't do it right. How helpful does that sound?
