I think I went over this before but...
So far, there's two virus issues or whatnot in Fighter Factory that I can't
stand. First one, managable: Importing commands/combos etc. It USED to
do it, but not anymore, however, I do it manually now..

but here's the WORST part! 2nd: Sound file auto-corruption!
All I do is go through the constants of my character(s), and save, import
sound files, etc, at first all was working, but go back to the constants and
change a few things, then all of a damn sudden, I just find out that the
crooked system had automaticly corruped my character's sound file pack
and will do every attempt it can to NEVER run them anymore!

This has been a pest to me over trillions of times now, and I'm starting to
hate it! Luckily I still have an old crap soundpack compared to all that god
damn hard f**king work I done on the new one and it still works, like a load
of trash that makes all the updates look horrible... No
...and it JUST had to happen all over again for the 5th time at a very
terrible moment when I don't need that crap at this point...

this is starting to piss me off. I don't want to go all over those damn imports
again! I'll have to go all over the place to find 627 of them!! This always
happens when I add something new to the CNS for some stupid f**king
pointless reason and it's starting to piss me off! SOME of those sounds aren't
even available anymore, to worsen it! :behead:

A dream carried out on my own.

ff --;

never save all the character, just save the individual file you are working on, personally I only use ff for sprites, sounds and maybe clsns.

Freaky...
I found out that it was due to a import of one in my 5011 point
(Attack hit sound set) effects... I cleared most of it back to 16/
28 as before recent imports and everything started working again,
so I carefully re-added some of the new ones, and it's still working...

but how is it possible that it crashes like that on just me? Another
member here just said: "didn't happen to me." , which is strange... --;

Well, for just-in-case, is there any other program relative to Fighter
Factory that allows creation of Mugen characters/stages/system pack/
etc?

A dream carried out on my own.

MCM + notepad?

MEE?

I hate MCM for the air file and MEE is a long process but at least it works properly.

MCM has a sound editing function that works. MEE has SNDsgood inside it which used to function for me but now doesn't. FF's real problem is it lets you do things it shouldn't. I fucked up my sound file one using it's volume increase function. That assholed all my sounds.

Yeah, i know that. But how are you supposed to know when using a function is going to break things. I didn't have that many sounds at the time so i wasn't really bothered but it did let me know not to use it again. If the function that breaks things isn't there in the first place then you wouldn't stuff them up would you?

nope, but i just make sure i back up my files when loading up my character so if i did stuff or corrupt any files i have the backups....but yea would be nice if everything worked as it should in FF...... too much hassle otherwise

i dont get how people have so many problems with ff, ive never ever had a problem with it and its like 2 years ive been using it, most of the problems i see are cause peeps dont understand how pallettes, .def files, .cns, .air ,.cmd or .snd files truly work and blame ff when they crash mugen but they usually find how to fix the problems by doing things right

cy problem looks authenic tough

Well yes. Thats kinda my whole point of telling people not to use the shortcuts. They don't really understand what the shortcut is supposed to do and make a mess trying to use it improperly. Hell any time i've WANTED to make use of something in FF that's like that i figure out what it needs to work properly first. I don't use it on anything i plan to put into mugen, just copied images so i can play with it.

Had to go in and edit some of the predefined sctrls as well. Hitdef has broken parameters and i hate having loads of commented out stuff strung through it. Changed it so the most used stuff is uncommented, and all the commented stuff is in a big group at the end so i can easily delete what i don't need. I need to add the extra lines to the projectile control too.

I think they're just in a folder within FF. You can open them with notepad, change them and save. Nothing major or requiring any great knowledge.

Well... as far as I've used FF, the only bugs it showed to me are that , if I load 4 (somewhat heavy) characters, it says that I don't have enogh memory tu run the program (512 MB of RAM is not enough? O_o) Anyway I can still using it by clicking OK.
Other is that if I save the whole char, and I attempt to close the program, sometimes gives an exception error, and I have to restart the program, because if you continue opening chars, the pallettes are f***ed up.

Besides this, is weird, but I don't have any problems with FF... maybe depends on some extra stuff I did, for example, for avoiding reinstralling it after formating my HD, I just made a backup of the folder that contains the program, placed in the Program Files folder, and vuala! FF instantly XD I guess that it could have issues with registry entri values... who knows...

I guess that is better to stick with MCM + Notepad ++ if you experience problems with FF, slower but safer.

See ya!!! :D
This is the era in which we will see reason triumphing against brutality... May be better to open your mind to the future.

i think i dont love nor hate, i just put up with it.

but in relation to vyns comment, i havent had many probs with it either, and nothing that cant be fixed.

Oh how fucking convient, now it just so happened to automaticly completely destroy
my sff file, fucking unholy gay shit. I mean... how the hell is that possable?! Everything
was working perfectly but I leave it minimized in the back, then all of a sudden THIS shit showed up :behead:
And seeing all the 'helpful info' here, I can assume NONE of you ever heard of this error:
I mean, I got even more sound effects WAY past the last broken file, and things
were going great, next was how the CNS didn't want to save properly, I dealt
with that, so then I was ALMOST just about finished, but did a few tweaks on
a new palate before testrun, nothing bad in particular, so I saved and ran a test
play on the original system to see how it would work against some REAL targets,
just when I loaded the system, THIS happens! I found my avatar completely screwed
up, and seeing THAT was bad enough of a hint to know that was NOT a good sign!
I decided to crash it right away and find out what the fuck this shit was doing, and
that's when it passed it's virus, AGAIN.

Fix one thing, something else stupid destroys a file, I fix that back, then out
comes a fucking nother one! Why do I have to take all this stupid fuck?!
I attempted to at least see if it worked on that so-called Mugen Character Maker
thing mentioned, but that didn't even help any. All that god damn hard ass work
over months, burnt down all for void shit like this! Well, I'll say thanks for at least
helping by a 0.01% with the info, but taking this one-after-another constant auto
corruption virus in trying to make a character of my own for this crap has gone too
far, I can't take it anymore! If there is NO other system that doesn't do this fuck,
then That's fucking it, I'm through with FF... and I'm out from any stupid character
-making for this fuck aymore! :bigcry:

and no you don't have to take any of this, but quitting would mean you will stop something you spent much time on...give up now and you set precedents beyond the insignificant boundaries of mugen your choice..

I always save my SFF TRICE with FF because that program already fucked up my SFF file many times (when you add a new portrait to your 240 chars 90 of them fucks up in a certain way by duplicating sprites on the wrong place, modifying axis or corrupting data >_>)
pls

You realise FF isn't the ONLY method of creating a character right? Use a combination of MCM and notepad. You might have more success. Especially as it forces you to do without FF's crappy shortcut buttons.

Or go to MEE.

I only use FF because it's the one program i like the clsn editing in. MCM has no clsndefault and kills comments. MEE forces me to save every frame i draw hitboxes on.

Well, thanks again. I'll find the third program somewhere when I can.
BTW, a friend of mine saved a slightly recent version of my file before
the loss, so I was able to repair and upgrade it even further.
